Chapter 131: Rip and Tear Until You Bite Something of Importance
In a ruined region of a forest on a planet far away, a lion roared in indignation, his voice vibrating the surrounding trees with its immense volume. The animal's fur was blue, and his eyes shone with a bright blue light, resembling flames.
Strange wounds covered the body of the lion, resembling no wound caused by any wild animal, but the culprit was not a wild animal. At least, that fact was debatable.
Bob stood before the animal, and he was breathing with a raspy sound. His right arm was almost entirely devoid of flesh, and the muscles in his hand were connected to his shoulder by only a few stubborn filaments.
The boy was covered in blood, but his eyes gave away nothing of his condition. Only an unthinking, primal look could be seen in the boy's eyes as he stared at his enemy. Around him and the king, many female lions were watching the battle, but they were not intervening as their leader tried to protect his position against the weird biped.
The window of stillness was broken in the next moment as lion and man dashed forward at the same time, as if they felt each other's intention. The lion's moves were graceful, and he almost slides forward, his paws barely touching the ground.
Bob, on the other hand, was the opposite. As he pushed himself off the ground, the floor below him exploded backwards in a shower of dirt and stone shards. His body released a red glow as his many wounds powered him up even more.
Nothing was on his mind as he moved through the air. His mind was completely clear and focused. He only saw the lion before him, and nothing else. Two figures met almost immediately, and the fist met the claws in an explosion of force.
For a single moment in time, it looked like there was a stalemate, but the contest of pure strength ended in the next instance, and the lion's front leg disappeared into a pool of blood as its body was launched backwards as a blur.
The resulting shockwave uprooted trees close to the position of impact, and the lions around them flew away like kittens, completely failing to hold their own against the force of impact.
At the core of the explosion, Bob stood, and somehow, the glow around him was even stronger. The arm he used was a garbled mess, differently wounded than his other arm, but no less seriously, yet his eyes were still the same.
He gazed at the few lions who remained standing, and he watched as the lions lay down on the ground on their backs like obedient puppies. After a period of fighting, he was not sure how long, Bob finally felt something click.

Error.
Nobility threshold reached after the deadline.
A chance will be given.
Huh? Bob stared at the notifications dumbly. His mind was still cloudy when it came to behaving like a human being, and reading comprehension was way out there.
In the next moment, he found himself in a different place, an almost infinite gray expanse around him. There was no moment of teleportation; he was here now, and he was not just before.
Forced Duel initiated.
The last-ranked Predetermined Primarch will defend their position.
With the notification came a man in a futuristic-looking armor, as he materialized before him like an illusion. He wore a black blade, and a compact shield was fitted to his left forearm. He looked at Bob with incomprehension, clearly not understanding why he was facing a challenger even before the ranks were given out.
"Who are you? At least wait until I have the rank, man!" the man shouted, and was met with silence, as Bob just stared at him, his body still glowing red from the battle before. It was an interesting decision by the system, but his body was not healed at all, as even now, the floor was slowly getting covered by a pool of blood coming out of his wounds.
All in all, he painted a terrifying picture as he stood still, as if he didn't notice his injuries. This could be seen from the face of the fighter, as the man glanced pointedly at Bob's shining bones, which were clearly visible on his left hand.
"Look, man, I don't know why you challenged me when you are like this, but I will make it short," the fighter said as he pulled his sword out, but that action was all Bob needed. The boy's mind didn't work in a human way at the moment, as he behaved more like an animal.

Before, he didn't know that the man before him was a threat, but swords were clearly associated with danger even in his primal mind.
When the sword was out by half of its length, Bob started to move. With a kick, his body was launched forward like an arrow, reinforced floor below him cracking, and he almost teleported to his destination.
The fighter could even react as Bob's teeth sank into his neck. The only reaction he could give was his eyes widening in disbelief as the boy's powerful legs stopped him abruptly just before the now-frightened man.
The sword stopped moving as Bob reeled back, taking most of the man's neck with him along a piece of his armor. Blood spurted, adding to the cocktail covering the wild boy's body, and the sword slowly slid back into the sheath.
The fighter tried to say something, but only blood came out. Bob spat out the broken piece of the windpipe the man was missing right now. The last thing the fighter saw before he was teleported away was the feral grin on the terrifying boy's face.
When Bob came to his senses, he was sitting in a clearing, and he was surrounded by almost a hundred female lions. He didn't have problems with the memory department, unlike his times before Maxwell's "enhancements" but the memories were not very clear.
It took almost ten minutes for Bob to infer what happened from his memories, as he didn't really care about anything other than how he could kill his opponents at the time. It was not this bad for a while, but as his territory got larger and his injuries increased, the energy inside him made him more focused on slaughter.
"So I'm the lion king now?" Bob asked no one in particular. He ignored the recreational problems wisely before getting up to look at the world more clearly, this time not tinted with blood and gore.
He was not sure what the deal was with Primarchs, but he was pretty sure that the last fight meant that he would become one soon. He noticed a small addition to his system window and pressed on it.
He could briefly see something like a timer for a moment, but it was all zeroes. The window disappeared in the next instance, and he was immediately assaulted with notifications.

"So this means I can leave this place now?" Bob asked a lion beside him, receiving a fearful look of incomprehension.
Gendor threw away the mortar and pestle in a fit of sudden boredom, causing the durable tool to fly through the wall into the streets. It received a few curious glances as it rolled on the ground, disappearing into the distance along with its incredibly nutritious and healthy contents.
While he could see that his skills were quite good when it came to alchemy, his heart was not into it. Gendor had been a killer all his life, and he didn't hesitate to admit that he enjoyed the job quite well. He was conditioned since childhood to not feel any remorse, and while there were instances where the human emotion managed to pierce through the many years of conditioning, they were far in between, feeling more like a usual case of work-related stress.
Healing, though, felt redundant. He found the act of killing people who caused problems much more helpful. At least Max can change these things into that. He thought, trying to console himself. Remembering the poison didn't help him, though, as the fact that the boy was better than him in creating poisons was all the more depressing.
His depression was suddenly interrupted by a loud-ass system notification, and he glanced at it curiously.

"I'm hoooomeee!" the little girl shouted enthusiastically as she pushed the golden door before her open.
Nesha smiled at Mary, who strolled into the Nest like it was the happiest day in her life. Apparently, that was the average state of the girl, and she found it delightful. She was hugging the creepy teddy bear as always, but Nesha couldn't help but let the negative feelings flow away as the smiling girl approached.
That was the usual effect Mary had on people, and Nesha was starting to think that it was more real than she first assumed. It was easy to attribute it to the girl's all-around positive outlook on absolutely anything.
Seeing Zeyn become cheerful when he was approached by the girl made Nesha doubt this, though. Since her childhood, this was the first time she saw Zeyn smiling. It actually proved that the man possessed the necessary muscles for the act.
"How was your day?" she asked the girl, who immediately started to eat a bowl of ice cream she had placed on the table. The girl didn't look up from the ice cream, but she answered.
"There was a guy who tried to talk to me, but Pax ate him. I guess he was too tasty to pass up?" the girl said, and Nesha was not sure what to make of the answer. Was it normal for little girls to say things like this? She knew that Mary thought that the bear was alive, and she assumed that it was a way of coping with her bad childhood, but she still didn't know how to deal with this. She chose to stay silent, focusing on her work. Suddenly, a system notification appeared before her, accompanied by a loud ding.

Huh? I have the same rank as my father now? Nesha stared at the notification with disbelief.
