Chapter 264: Ais, The Correct Way to Use the Eight-Pointed Light Wheel
"Ka ka..."
"Da da da..."
The next moment, countless Mechanical Monsters surged into the valley. Their overwhelming numbers caused those at the rear to trample over the slower ones in the front, creating rolling waves of metal that rapidly closed in on the flesh-and-blood creatures in their line of sight.
Like a tidal wave, the mechanical army swarmed forward, unleashing an onslaught of multicolored Energy Beams and vibrating sonic waves that swept through the valley, engulfing Bai Ke and Nan Xuewei.
"Boom boom boom..."
The ground quaked violently as a massive explosion erupted in the valley. Shards of Mechanical Ruins were sent flying in all directions, the rock walls on both sides of the valley collapsed, and a colossal mushroom cloud rose into the sky, only to be dispersed moments later by another shockwave blast.
"Buzz..."
At that moment, an intense radiance burst forth from the center of the explosion, overshadowing the residual blast and illuminating the entire valley.
Soon after, the blinding light rapidly contracted, condensing above the valley into a towering Light Giant.
The Giant's body gleamed in hues of red and silver. Though not particularly tall, it had a circular, hollow-edged blade-shaped horn atop its head, a blue glowing light pulsing between its brows, and two golden, sharp, glowing eyes that radiated intensity. A blue energy light shone prominently from its chest.
Inside the Giant's body, within the twin Light Mirrors, two individuals ran their hands over the smooth mirror surfaces enveloping them, their faces lighting up with joy.
At the same time, a stream of information flooded into their minds.
"Ais!"
"That's the Giant's name..."
Recalling the information in their minds, they skillfully maneuvered the Giant into a breathtaking mid-air flip. Despite weighing tens of thousands of tons, the Giant fell gracefully in freefall, crashing down from the sky with a deafening roar. Light Energy currents sparked beneath its feet, directly smashing into the mechanical army below.
Ais Electric Kick!
"Boom!!"
Once again, the ground was devastated. Mechanical Fragments burst everywhere within the valley, and wild, uncontrollable Light Energy currents swept through the area. Every Mechanical Monster that had flooded into the valley emitted a piercing screech before collapsing from short-circuits, thick black smoke billowing out of their failed cores.
"Hiss..."
"Aargh..."
"Thump thump..."
Within seconds, even more Mechanical Monsters surged into the valley. The air above was crowded with swarms of flying Mechanical Monsters, sealing the valley so tightly that not an inch was left uncovered.
Bai Ke and Nan Xuewei stared in horror at the unending mechanical horde reflected within the mirrors.
"This... this has attracted all the Mechanical Monsters within a hundred-mile radius!"
"Xiao Ke, we can't keep fighting—run!"
"Got it!"
The two exchanged glances and raised their hands synchronously to their foreheads, channeling the Giant's Light Energy.
"Zzzzz..."
The Giant's forehead emitted a blazing blue Energy Beam, shooting directly at the flying Mechanical Monsters swarming over the valley.
Impact Laser!
"Boom!!!"
The blue beam swept through the mechanical horde, sending countless Mechanical Monsters plummeting to the ground in smoking ruin, momentarily clearing an open path.
Without wasting another moment, the two piloted the Giant to leap skyward, transforming into a streak of brilliant light that charged out of the encirclement.
The flying Mechanical Monsters pursued relentlessly, while those on the ground roared and launched a barrage of long-range attacks aimed at the Giant streaking overhead.
"Zzzzz..."
"Buzz..."
"Bang..."
Energy Beams, vibrating sound waves, particle rays, Gravity Beams, and Alloy Missiles shot toward the Giant in an overwhelming barrage.
Inside the Light Mirrors, the two saw the rapidly closing barrage of devastating energy behind them and felt their hearts tighten. They urgently commanded the Giant's body to swerve and weave deftly mid-flight, desperately evading the incoming onslaught.
"Left!"
"Right!"
"Left again!"
"Turn!"
However, as the terrifying beams streaked narrowly past them, the two grew flustered. Their initially synchronized movements faltered, and the Giant's previously agile form suddenly slowed, leaving it vulnerable. In the next instant, the dense barrage of attacks struck its body directly.
"Boom..."
The Giant was enveloped in a massive explosion of Energy Flashes. Inside, the two felt piercing pain wrack their bodies and couldn't help but scream in agony.
As the energy detonated outward, the Giant plummeted helplessly from the sky, its descent rapid and uncontrolled.
"Boom..."
Below, a fish-headed missile over a dozen meters long roared upward, its fiery exhaust blazing as it intercepted the falling Giant.
"Sister Xuewei, move—quick!"
Bai Ke noticed the terrifying missile approaching and, panic-stricken, shouted to the dazed Nan Xuewei on the other side of the Light Mirror.
"I... which way..."
"Left!"
"Got it..."
"Ah, Xuewei, you did it wrong again—that's the right..."
"Oh, oh, let me try again..."
Before Nan Xuewei could finish speaking, the fish-headed missile was already upon them. With a deafening blast, it exploded, releasing scorching energy that engulfed the Giant.
"Boom..."
The explosion unleashed countless metallic fish spines from the missile, which shot outward like deadly rain.
"Pfft pfft pfft..."
The razor-sharp spines pierced through the Giant, riddling its body with holes like a sieve.
The two inside also felt unprecedented pain as their Giant's body was impaled, causing them to scream as they fell.
"Buzz..."
The shattered Giant's body tilted mid-fall and, before hitting the ground, disintegrated into countless Light Particles. These swiftly reformed into the figures of the two individuals.
"Thud..."
The two collapsed to the ground, utterly drained, feeling as if all strength had been ripped from their bodies.
As the mechanical horde charged toward them excitedly, despair overtook their expressions.
Nan Xuewei let out a bitter laugh, her voice weak: "Xiao Ke, who would've thought... our silly joke back then... would actually come true..."
Bai Ke's face turned pale as she forced a smile even more pitiful than tears.
"Yeah... 'To die on the same day, same month, same year'... What were we thinking, trying to emulate the ancients? How childish we were..."
"Super childish, like terminal-stage moronic childishness."
"And yet you're still mocking me at a time like this..."
Bai Ke began to respond but suddenly froze, realizing the voice wasn't hers.
Opposite her, Nan Xuewei's eyes sparkled with life as she trembled, pointing a finger excitedly behind Bai Ke.
"You... you... you..."
Bai Ke rolled her eyes. "Who exactly is it?"
"It's me!"
Footsteps echoed as Qin Shou approached, hands clasped behind his back. He casually stepped over Bai Ke's prone form and picked up the two rings lying on the ground.
