Chapter 1: Truck-Kun
i died.
I died real bad.
i honestly didnt see it coming
one second, im causally walking down the street
the next im running away from a golden truck
Oh, did I forget to mention said truck had arms and legs and was literally running after me?
i didnt???
oh well anyway, said truck is screaming
"NO ONE GETS AWAY FROM TRUCK-KUN"
I mean, what the heck? Truck-kun? Is this some kind of anime fever dream?
But there's no time to ponder the absurdity of my situation. I'm sprinting for my life, my lungs burning, legs pumping like pistons. The ground shakes with each thunderous step of the truck behind me.
"COME BACK HERE, PROTAGONIST-SAN!" Truck-kun bellows, its headlights flashing maniacally.
I dart down an alley, hoping to lose my pursuer in the narrow passage. Bad move. The truck simply plows through the buildings, bricks and mortar flying everywhere.
"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE YOUR DESTINY!" it roars.
Destiny? What destiny? I'm just a normal guy trying to live a normal life! I didn't sign up for this madness!
I spot a low bridge up
ahead and make a desperate dash for it. If I can just get under there, maybe the truck won't fit...
I dive and roll under the bridge, scraping my knees and elbows. The truck skids to a halt, its massive legs squealing against the pavement somehow said legs are made of rubber.
"CLEVER ONE ARENT YOU," it growls, sounding oddly impressed. "BUT THIS ISN'T OVER!"
I catch my breath, heart pounding. What now? I can't stay here forever. As if reading my thoughts, the truck starts to transform. Its body contorts and shrinks, metal grinding against metal. Before my disbelieving eyes, it turns into a sleek sports car.
"OH COME ON!" I shout. "That's cheating!"
The sports car revs its engine. "ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND ISEKAI!"
Isekai?
Wait, isekai? As in those stories where people get transported to fantasy worlds? But that can't be right. This is real life, isn't it?
I don't have time to contemplate the implications. The sports car is revving its engine, preparing to zoom under the bridge. I scramble to my feet and take off running again, my legs protesting with every step.
"YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER!" the car taunts as it bursts from under the bridge, hot on my heels.
"Watch me!" I yell back, though I know it's futile. My stamina is fading fast, and this otherworldly vehicle seems to have endless energy.
Suddenly, I spot a boat tied up ahead. It's my only chance. I leap onto it, fumbling with the ropes. The sports car screeches to a halt on the bridge above.
"NO FAIR! I CAN'T SWIM!" it wails as I push off from the shore.
"HA GOODLUCK GETTING ME NOW LOSER!"
plot twist i died like 2 minutes later
As I drift down the river, a smug grin plastered across my face, I can't help but feel a sense of triumph. I've outsmarted the crazed shape-shifting vehicle! I'm home free!
Or so I thought.
The sports car's engine roars with fury, and suddenly it's launching itself off the bridge. It soars through the air, transforming mid-flight into a massive speedboat.
"OH COME ON!" I scream as it splashes down beside me, sending a tidal wave that nearly capsizes my little rowboat.
"SURPRISE, PROTAGONIST-SAN!" the speedboat cackles, its propellers churning the water into a froth.
I grab my oar and start paddling furiously, but it's no use. The speedboat circles me like a shark, creating a whirlpool that sucks my boat in.
"THERE'S NO ESCAPE NOW!" Truck-kun-turned-speedboat bellows triumphantly.
The whirlpool intensifies, and my little rowboat starts to spin faster and faster. I cling to the sides for dear life, my knuckles turning white.
"WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING IT?" the speedboat asks, almost sounding confused. "DON'T YOU WANT TO BE THE HERO OF YOUR OWN STORY?"
"I just wanted to go grocery shopping!" I wail as the boat tips dangerously.
Suddenly, the water beneath me starts to glow an eerie blue. The whirlpool transforms into a swirling vortex of light.
"TOO LATE!" the speedboat cackles. "YOUR NEW ADVENTURE AWAITS!"
The vortex pulls me down, down, down. Water floods my boat, then my lungs. As my vision fades to black, I hear the speedboat's triumphant cry:
"ISEKAI TIME!"
And then... nothing.
When I open my eyes, I'm lying in a field of impossibly green grass. The sky above is covered in stars I've never seen before. A gentle breeze carries the scent of flowers I can't name.
"Well, well, aren't you quite the tenasious little one?"
I bolt upright, my heart racing. That voice... it can't be...
But there it is, standing before me in all its metallic glory: Truck-kun. Except now, it's wearing a crown and flowing royal robes somehow draped over its truck body.
"WELCOME TO YOUR NEW WORLD, PROTAGONIST-SAN," it booms, gesturing with one massive tire-hand at the fantastical landscape around us.
We were surrounded by nothing but a grass plain strething for miles.
I scramble to my feet, ready to run again, but my legs feel different stronger, faster.
no my whole body felt better, i felt like i was bursting with raw power.
"What... what is this place?" I stammer, my voice sounding more deep and heroic than I remember.
"YOUR DESTINY!" Truck-kun exclaims proudly.
suddenly like a flip was switched, truck-kun becomes serious
"sorry to bring you here like this
but I need your help badly, boy."
HUH
"Wait, what do you mean you need MY help?"
My heart pounds in my chest, fear coursing through me as I swallow hard. What task could be so daunting that he needs my help? My hands tremble at the thought of what he might ask of me, and I feel a cold sweat break out across my skin. Why can't he do it himself?
"I need you to be a hero."
"A hero?" I repeat, dumbfounded. "But... but I'm just an ordinary guy! I can't be a hero!"
Truck-kun's headlights dim, almost as if it's rolling its eyes. "THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY AT FIRST. BUT TRUST ME, YOU'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES."
I look down at myself, noticing for the first time that I'm wearing some kind of modern-style camo pants and boots. A black shirt with the House of El symbol on it.
"But why me?" I ask, still struggling to process this bizarre turn of events.
Truck-kun sighs, a sound like air brakes releasing. "BECAUSE YOU RAN. YOU FOUGHT. YOU DIDN'T GIVE UP EVEN WHEN FACED WITH THE IMPOSSIBLE. THAT'
"THAT'S WHAT MAKES A TRUE HERO," Truck-kun finishes. "AND THAT'S WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS RIGHT NOW."
I shake my head, still in disbelief. "But what could I possibly do here? I don't have any special powers or skills!"
Truck-kun chuckles, a sound like gears grinding. "OH, BUT YOU DO. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET."
"as you are now, you are kyptonian just like superman"
"WELCOME TO YOUR NEW REALITY, PROTAGONIST-SAN," Truck-kun says. "HERE, YOUR BODY IS NEW REBORN GOODLUCK DUDE YOU WILL NEED IT."
I stare at the truck, my eyes widening
"Wait, what?" I gasp, looking down at my hands in shock. "I'm... Kryptonian? Like Superman?"
As if on cue, I feel a surge of energy coursing through my body. My senses sharpen, colors becoming more vivid, sounds more crisp. I flex my fingers, marveling at the strength I can feel in them.
"THIS IS YOUR GIFT," Truck-kun explains. "BUT WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY."
"Did you just quote Spider-Man?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
Truck-kun's headlights flicker in what I assume is embarrassment. "I MAY HAVE WATCHED A FEW EARTH MOVIES. BUT THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT NOW."
"Go on, try it out," Truck-kun encourages.
Hesitantly, I crouch down, knees bent, the ground beneath my feet cracking slightly under the pressure. For a moment, doubt whispers in my mind. What if this doesn't work? What if I crash? I push the thoughts aside. There's no room for fear now.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself. Then, with all my might, I spring upward.
The world blurs around me as I rocket into the sky, the force of my leap leaving a shockwave behind. My heart races, both from exhilaration and terror. Wind roars in my ears, and the ground below becomes a distant memory.
Within seconds, I break through the clouds, the cool mist clinging to my skin as I ascend even higher. The air grows thinner, colder, but I don't feel it—just the adrenaline coursing through me.
"HOLY SH—!" I shout instinctively, then catch myself. No, no, heroes don't curse. "I mean… great Scott!"
Finally, I stop. The momentum fades, leaving me hovering in the stratosphere, weightless and free. The view is breathtaking. The Earth below stretches out like a living, breathing masterpiece—a patchwork quilt of oceans, forests, and cities. The sun paints the horizon in fiery hues, casting long shadows over the planet's curvature.
For a moment, I forget everything. The struggles. The powers. Even the absurdity of my situation. Up here, it's just me and the world—a world that suddenly feels both impossibly vast and beautifully fragile.
I grin, the thrill of the experience bubbling over. "I'm flying," I whisper to myself. "I'm actually flying."
"HOW'S IT FEEL TO BE ON TOP OF THE WORLD?"
The booming voice jolts me out of my reverie. I whip my head around to see the source, and there it is—Truck-kun. Floating impossibly above me, headlights glowing like celestial beacons, its voice somehow coming from nowhere and everywhere at once.
Startled, I lose focus and wobble mid-air, dropping a few dozen feet before instinct kicks in and I steady myself again.
"Don't sneak up on me like that!" I yell back, my voice carrying unnaturally far in the thin atmosphere.
"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO JUMPED. CONGRATS, KID, YOU'RE DEFYING GRAVITY!"
I roll my eyes, but I can't help the small laugh that escapes me. Truck-kun may be ridiculous, but for once, I can't argue with it. Up here, floating above the world, I feel invincible.
And maybe—just maybe—I'm starting to believe that I really can be a hero.
"its truly marvelous"
Truck-kun chuckles. "TRUST ME, YOU'RE GOING TO SEE A LOT MORE THAN THIS. But i cant be here to show you any longer."
"why?" I ask.
"I need you to be a hero, my boy. The world needs saving, and evil doesn't wait for anyone."
"i will send you to the marvel 616 universe Also, you only get the fortress of solitude after a few years when you are fully established. Imagine the nightmare fuel of doom with kyrtonian tech. yeesh"
"What kind of evil are we talking about?" I ask, feeling a knot form in the pit of my stomach.
"THE WORST."
Truck-kun lowers itself down next to me.
"You have the heart of a true hero. I've seen it. Now i can unleash you on the world. "
"Go forth into the world of marvels."
"Superman"
"and save the day."
"I can't do this alone!" I shout, panic rising in my voice. "I need your help, Truck-kun!"
Truck-kun looks down at me with its glowing headlights. "YOU'RE NEVER ALONE, MY BOY. I'LL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. IN HERE."
It places one giant tire-hand on my chest, and I feel a warmth spreading through me.
"THIS WORLD NEEDS YOU, PROTAGONIST-SAN. AND SO DO THE PEOPLE IN IT."
Truck-kun starts to float away, its metal body shimmering in the sunlight.
"BUT DON'T WORRY. WHEN YOU NEED ME MOST I SHALL FIGHT BY YOUR SIDE."
"we shall meet again young hero."
Suddenly, a bright light flashes before me, and then
I'm falling
falling
falling
into darkness.
