Chapter 137: Chapter 136: The Mutated Version of Garfield's Spider-Man
However, what Doctor Octopus never anticipated was that Venom wasn't just a substance that could enhance people.
It had also developed self-awareness!
Taking advantage of a moment of negligence, Venom escaped from Doctor Octopus's laboratory.
Somehow, it ended up encountering a man named Eddie Brock and bonded with him.
Thus, Venom was born—a rogue anti-hero who followed his own rules.
Venom soon discovered that his abilities were strikingly similar to those of Spider-Man.
As if there was some deep connection between them.
However, Venom had no interest in becoming a hero like Spider-Man.
He wasn't dedicated to fighting crime, but if he stumbled upon wrongdoing, he'd sometimes step in.
Overall, he lived by his own whims.
Venom's presence quickly caught the attention of Doctor Octopus.
After a bit of analysis, he confirmed that this Venom was the very same one that had escaped from his lab.
(Well, obviously—it didn't even bother to change its name. A pair of real dimwits.)
And so, Venom and Doctor Octopus became mortal enemies.
The two clashed time and time again on the streets of New York.
Even with the help of his advanced mechanical tentacles, Doctor Octopus couldn't find a way to defeat Venom.
After repeated failures, he began to devise a different strategy.
Soon, after following some subtle clues, he discovered Venom's human identity—Eddie Brock.
Using miniature surveillance drones, he gathered evidence and then anonymously leaked it to The Daily Bugle.
The Headlines Exploded:
"Shocking! Daily Bugle Reporter Eddie Brock Is Actually Venom!"
"Man in Black Roaming the Streets at Night—The Truth Behind His Actions Will Stun You!"
"Venom: Could This Be Another 'Spider-Freak'?"
"Public Outcry: Arrest Venom Eddie Brock Immediately! Last Week, He Destroyed the Best Sandwich Shop in Queens!"
One after another, reports and clickbait articles flooded newspapers and the internet.
With the help of certain shadowy figures, the controversy spread like wildfire.
Then, the police showed up at Eddie Brock's door.
Eddie was speechless.
But unlike Peter Parker, he wasn't the type to just surrender.
Sure, he had morals—but not that many.
So, when he saw the arrest warrant, he chose to run.
However, the police were prepared.
After multiple confrontations, Doctor Octopus had identified some of Venom's weaknesses—such as fire and high-frequency sound.
Using this knowledge, the police deployed several vehicles equipped with powerful loudspeakers and surrounded Eddie Brock's home.
Then, they bombarded the area with incendiary grenades.
Venom suffered a crushing defeat.
While being transported to prison, Doctor Octopus ambushed the convoy.
Using a specially designed device, he forcibly separated Venom from Eddie Brock.
Eddie Brock was then thrown in jail, becoming Peter Parker's cellmate.
Meanwhile, Doctor Octopus took Venom back to his lab.
But Then…
After some time, Doctor Octopus conducted a second round of experiments on Venom.
The result?
It escaped. AGAIN.
(At this point, you really had to wonder—was Doctor Octopus's lab just as useless as those labs in Ultra Galaxy?)
Venom found its way back to the prison and reunited with Eddie Brock.
Together, they executed a prison break.
During the escape, however, Venom left behind a fragment of itself.
That fragment became…
Carnage.
At This Moment, Peter Parker Was No Longer the Same Peter Parker
By now, he had been imprisoned for over a year.
During this time, Aunt May had tirelessly fought to reduce his sentence, running from place to place.
However, instead of sympathy, she was branded as a wicked woman aiding and abetting a criminal.
Some even accused her of neglecting her duty as Peter Parker's guardian, blaming her for allowing him to walk down a path of crime.
As a result, despite disguising herself every time she visited, Peter still noticed subtle clues—signs that something was off.
Moreover, throughout the year, a mysterious individual had been sending him letters, detailing everything happening to Aunt May.
These letters tormented Peter Parker's soul.
If he alone had to suffer, he could endure it.
But the thought of Aunt May suffering because of him was unbearable.
Bit by bit, his heart began to sink into darkness.
Then came Carnage.
Like a drop of oil on a spark, the darkness that had only just begun to take root within Peter suddenly ignited into an inferno!
A blood-red suit enveloped his body.
Apart from the spider emblem on his chest, there was barely a trace of Spider-Man left.
His mind was now completely consumed by bloodlust.
Carnage was born!
The First Massacre
His first act as Carnage was to slaughter every prisoner and guard who had once mocked him and ridiculed Aunt May.
The prison was drenched in blood—walls, floors, ceilings.
Even the river outside the prison ran red as blood seeped into its waters.
Venom's Shock—and Defeat
The reborn Venom was utterly shocked by the carnage.
But Venom was no match for Carnage.
Venom was merely a fusion of the symbiote and an ordinary human—Eddie Brock.
Carnage, however, was something else entirely—a fusion of a symbiote and a superhuman—Peter Parker!
Within moments, Venom was utterly defeated!
The ravenous Carnage then devoured Venom, killing Eddie Brock in the process.
By consuming Venom, Carnage's power surged even further.
He absorbed all of Venom's memories, learning that the mastermind behind everything was none other than Doctor Octopus.
The Doctor's Death
Fueled by vengeance, Carnage hunted down Doctor Octopus—and killed him.
Yet, in his final moments, Doctor Octopus asked a single question:
"Who are you?"
That question shook Carnage to his core.
Something deep within him stirred—a faint, lingering sense of self.
Aunt May's Fate
Following this sliver of remaining humanity, Carnage returned to Aunt May's home.
But when he arrived, he discovered she had passed away over a month ago.
Knocking on a neighbor's door, he was met with a terrified homeowner who hesitantly revealed the truth.
Aunt May had always been frail, but after suffering constant harassment from so-called "righteous" individuals, she finally succumbed.
It was the neighbors who handled her funeral, burying her beside Uncle Ben.
The Death of Peter Parker
For the first time, Carnage did not kill.
A small remnant of conscience spared the kind-hearted neighbor, though fixing the broken door would be their own problem.
Carnage then made his way to Aunt May's grave.
Standing before the tombstones of Uncle Ben and Aunt May, the last vestiges of Peter Parker died.
In his place, a new entity was born—"Ghost."
He was no longer Peter Parker.
He was the vengeful specter that had crawled out of Hell.
And when Ghost donned his blood-red suit, he became the wrathful King of Darkness—Carnage!
The Birth of a Tyrant
Carnage conquered his world, reducing it to submission and fear.
He ruled as its undisputed monarch, forcing all to tremble before him.
Until the day he arrived in this world.
Until he caught the scent of a new "father."
The Truth About Carnage
After hearing Carnage's entire story, Peter was both shocked and enlightened.
No wonder this version of Carnage seemed weaker.
It turned out that in his world, Venom and Carnage weren't alien symbiotes at all.
They were genetically engineered creations!
But the more Peter listened, the more he couldn't shake a strange feeling—
Why did this world sound like some kind of mutated version of Garfield's Spider-Man?
