Marvel: Web of Spiders

Chapter 5: 5-Fight

(1st Pov)

On the ceiling, the other spiders and I were huddled together in the corner, trying to avoid attention as Aunt May opened the door. As she did, a tall shadow blocked her vision. Gray skin, flat head, dead eyes- Tombstone.

"Where are they?"

Aunt May tilted her head as if confused. "Who are you talking about? And why are you here?"

Growling, Tombstone pushed her aside and strolled inside, making all of us frown. Tombstone started searching around for us as Prowler followed in behind him. Glancing over at the others, Gwen shook her head at me when she saw my expression, but I couldn't sit still while they hurt Aunt May.

She's a good woman, and they don't deserve the right to touch her.

Bracing against the wall, I launched myself at the biggest threat- Prowler. I collided with him with enough force to send us hurdling outside, controlled enough not to damage May's door. As we slid, I pushed off of him and into the air.

As he recovered, shaking his head, two web strands landed to his sides. Looking up, he was met with the image, and the taste, of the bottom of my boots crashing into his jaw, hoping to knock him out but knowing better than to trust that notion.

I rolled over him, settling into a crouched position as he proved me right by gathering himself off the ground. "You're gonna regret that, Webbs." His claws popped out of his gauntlets.

I grinned under my mask. "Wacha gonna do, give me a backscratch with those things?"

He growled, going invisible. Taking a deep breath, I ran my focus as high as it would go, trusting my Spider-Sense to warn me of danger. And it would seem I was right as a shiver went down my spine, urging me into motion.

Ducking down far too flexible for any man to be capable of naturally, a mental image of Davis appeared in my mind, my Spider-Sense zeroing in on his position. Closing my eyes to 'see' him better, I found that he was coming in for another slash, trying to rake his claws from my hip to my other shoulder.

Leaning back as his claws flew past my chest, I reached out, my palm just barely contacting his arm. But that was enough, as Davis soon found that he couldn't move, I was applying my wall crawling powers so I couldn't lose him.

Using my newfound purchase, I grabbed him with both arms and swung him up and over my shoulder, making sure to hold back some.

BOOM

The force of his…forced fall created a small crater around his body. Luckily, he was a genius and had made a pretty durable set of armor that let him take a quarter of my power…Probably less not that I think about it, but still a hell of a lot more than your run of the mill human.

Calming my breath down after that short, but intense brawl, I looked up to see a rubbery/mechanical claw in my face. "Oh, come o-"

"Shut up, bug." Olivia Octavious grinned at my struggling figure. "I'm gonna have fun studying you."

"Okay, yeah, that's not Happening!" Using most of my strength, I was able to pry her claw open enough to let me slip away.

Webbing over to the house, I crouched on the roof, watching her scream about something I couldn't care less about as another figure appeared next to me. Gwen, with her mask up.

"That was a good throw, newbie." She fist-bumped me. "Lemme help you with this one, she's super annoying."

"Haha! I'll take the help, those grippers are far too strong for their size."

Her head tilted, running through calculations as she looked closer at Olivia's tentacles. "She's a genius. She was back in my world too- worked with Oscorp and all that."

"I think if we webb up their joints they should start to destroy themselves trying to get free."

Gwen nodded. "There's usually a neural chip in her neck too."

"Then I guess we should get to it. It doesn't look like she's gonna give us more time to talk anyway-" My Spider-Sense went off as we both jumped out of the way of a flying manhole cover.

"Are you done yet?! I have experiments to get to!"

"Well at least she speaks her MIND!" I yelled, swinging in, avoiding her grasp as I landed a solid hit on one of her joints. In that time though, she managed to grip me with her other hand, ripping me away just as I webbed the thing up, the webbing getting inside of the delicate gears with the main casing gone.

Olivia threw me away, but I reacted in time to catch a light post with a web as I went flying by. Tilting my body instinctively, I swung around the thin feet first. Fighting with Gwen, she didn't see me coming. But she definitely felt it.

BANG

My feet coiled with her temple, sending her now limp body to the floor, twitching occasionally. "...Or tomorrow I guess."

Gwen giggled. "Lemme guess, you said something about feeling that in the morning?"

"Something along those lines." I muttered as the other spiders came out of the house, crying Tombstone behind them.

"Aunt May's alright. She's calling the cops right now." Peter B sighed.

"This is getting out of hand." As if to emphasize her statement, another glitch hit us, lasting at least 5 whole seconds. "Nmhh…We need to get back home before these glitches kill us."

Getting up off the floor, I gave the idea that they used in the original storyline. "Kingpin's hosting a gala tonight, and I heard that the servers are dressing up like Spiderman. That's the perfect opportunity to sneak in unnoticed."

Peter B nodded resolutely, going back into the house and taking miles with him. I sighed to myself, knowing what kind of conversation was happening, but at least I knew that Miles would find his way to the fight later.

"Come on, Peter will get the goober. We should get a head start and get our disguises in order." I told them, jumping up to a light post that hung over the road and using it like a springboard to start swinging away.

"I've always wanted to do that."
