Marvel: Web of Spiders

Chapter 11: 11-The Hand?

The next morning, Jayce dragged himself to school despite the fatigue he felt. "Maybe I shouldn't have gone on patrol the night before school."

He yawned as an idea came to his tired brain. Smirking, Jayce ducked into a nearby alley for a few minutes, and came out on the otherside as the Scarlet Spiderman, swinging towards his school.

Taking it easy, he used the oppertunity to wake his tired body up enough to function at school. "Im a junior, but I might ask to test out of school..."

He thought about it as he swung high above the streets. On one hand he'd have a lot more time to invest into being Spiderman and possibly creating a company, but on the other hand there were a lot of important figures that are in the school.

"Speaking of..." Jayce muttered, stopping next to a building, looking down at the image if a young woman that hasn't seen a lot of attention in most media, but he'd always loved her story. Cindy Moon.

From what he remembered, this version of Cindy was fathered by a man named Adam Moon, her adoptive father. He ran Moony Industries, which was based around infrastructure and machinery. They dabbled in bioengineering as well, but they weren't well known for that.

Changing back into his uniform, Jayce dropped down into a nearby alley, 'accidentally bumping into her. "Oh, sorry Cindy, I didn't see you there!"

Cindy, being a kind soul, smiled and shook her head. "It's okay. Why are you in such a rush anyway, there's still a half hour before school starts."

Jayce smiled awkwardly. "I thought taking a run to school would help me wake up."

"Ah, we'll I won't hold it against you, but you owe me." Cindy gave him a deep look, almost like a hinter who caught their prey in their trap.

"What kind of favor?" Jayce asked nervously.

"Dinner, tomorrow night. See you there sweet cheeks!" She then proceeded to run off before Jayce could fully comprehend what was happening.

"Did she just call me sweet cheeks?!"

---

Swinging through the city late at night, Jayce landed on the roof to his base, crawling in through a secret entrance that he was working on. Walking up to the elevator shaft, he lowered himself down as far as it went, we'll actually past that.

This building had a basement, but it was an Oscorop lab in the past, so it was off the records. The elevator was able to take people down to the basement, but Jayce changed that.

In the future, he was planning on this building becoming the headquarters to his business, even if he didn't know what to sell. In order to keep the secrecy of his new spider base he had made it so the obly way to access this floor was to get into the elevator shaft.

Jayce planned to add more security, but that would only come with time.

Entering a keycode into a door, it slid open, revealing a barebones lab. In the back there was a big computer, the start of a supercomputer. Right now, it was jury-rigged out of about 35 separate PC's, moniters, and one big screen that he bought with money borrowed from Peter.

There, he had already plugged in the skeleton AI that Penny had worked on for him back in 1610 Miles's dimension. She was a real genius when it came to artificial intelligence.

This AI that she had dubbed ARACHNID, was capable of scanning people, recognizing them by any feature that had, and even had a built in evolution mechanism. That essentially meant that it would learn over time as Jayce used it.

"Ara, compile the information found on the gang called the Gray Ghouls." It didn't have a voice yet, but it could show all information on any screen connected to it.

[The Gray Ghouls are a small time gang that's been reaching out and trying to gain more territory in the absence of one Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin.]

[They have been quick in their actions to threaten, steal, and kill for their newfound power, but their boss who is only known as Tombstone has been reportedly against the latter, causing tension within the leadership.]

"Huh, so it is big gray. I had a feeling it could have been him cus of the bike...what about Fisk?"

[Fisk is currently hiding from an unknown force. Rumors is that many of his important assets have disappeared lately and he has taken cover.]

"Hmm...any idea what could have touched Fisk's stuff? Fron what I know he's always been really tough on security."

[No. It seems that by morning comes, his men are dead and assets are gone, all without raising a single alarm. There are also no signs of what it could have been, but autopsy records show cause of death to be various bladed weapons.]

There was only a few things that follow that line of thought that could realistically touch Fisk'a things and send him running, and obly one that could do it successfully: The Hand.

"...Shit. I'm not ready for that, not even close." Jayce mulled it over before deciding to temporarily throw the idea out of his mind. "Look for any connection possible between the attacks on Fisk's assets you can find. In the meantime, I'm gonna keep tabs on the blockhead's movements."

Jayce resupplied his webs before leaving, launching himself out of a window and swinging through the cold night air. "I need the training, so I guess I'll have to go in webs blazing."

"Ugh, I have so much work to do!"
