Chapter 10: 10- First Patroll
(Weeks later)
Thwip!
Thwip!
"Woohoo!" A red and blue figure blurred through the cityscape, flying past buildings and cars alike. This Spiderman's suit looked a lot like the Insomniac version: red base, blue patches and white accents that acted as armor over his vital points.
This was of course, Peter Parker, the one and- WOOSH... Oh, I suppose there is another spider here. Following close behind him was a darker figure, as far as colors go. He was in all red and black, the latter being the main color. To any aspiring Watcher reading this, his suit looked uncanilly similar to Superior Spiderman's.
This Spidey was Jayce, and he was the second spider in this universe, and this time no deaths were needed for that to happen.
Peter's voice came to him across their comm channel.
Peter's uncle Ben had yet to fall victim to any would be thug, and Jayce didn't feel like watching his friend go through that kind of pain. More memories had appeared, and they'd completely meshed into his life, feeling like his very own moments.
He remembered growing up with a young Peter for a long time. Jayce even remembered being there for one of Flash Thompson's birthday parties, where he earned that particular name. Made him laugh everytime he thought about it.
Stopping next to him, Jayce held his shoulder. "We have a lot of power, and that means we can use it to help people."
Peter slowly nodded. "If we don't, who will?"
Jayce nodded, despite knowing Pete couldn't see it. "Exactly."
At the same time, their spider senses went off, warning of danger in different directions. Looking at eachother, the two spiders nodded. "See you around."
Jayce gave him finger guns, slipping off of the crane. "Call me if you need anything, Bluey!"
Zipping off into the distance, Jayce ended up on the east side, where the night was strong. There was no one on the streets, they were completely devoid, and the only sound he could hear was coming from a nearby alley.
In said alley, Jayce saw a crew loading materials into a few trucks, and given the large guns they were hauling around, they weren't friendly.
"Let's take this silently." He decided.
There were 12 of them outside, and three of them were off by themselves, the rest were all hauling the stolen goods into the truck. Stalking above one of the three guys on their own from a web line, Jayce lowered himself down on a web connected to it.
Grabbing the guy on the face, he made sure he couldn't call for help while he reeled the both of them back into the air. Wrapping him in webs, Jayce left him hanging in the air fir later, unable to fight back.
"Like a little gift to my future self, haha!"
Repeating the process, Jayce quickly wrapped up the other two before moving onto the ones that were grouped up. With no more guards, there were only 9 guys hauling goods out, and he would need to take them all out quickly before they took notice.
Waiting for a few minutes, Jayce found an oppertunity when they were all conviently grouped up. He threw a little ball out, having it land in between them.
"Huh?" One of them went to pick it up, but it beeped before they got the oppertunity. A wall of webs gushed out from the tiny gadget, luckily capturing all of them at the same time.
Dropping down next to them, Jayce tapped one on the nose, laughing. "Hope you're comfy, that'll take atleast an hour to dissolve. Who knows, maybe you'll grow wings and fly away?"
Suddendly, his spider sense went off, prompting him to duck when a burst of bullets flew over his head. "Really? Not even a hello? Straight to all killy killy?!"
Jayce sent out a web, clogging the gun that shot at him and pulling it to him. Swinging it around, he threw it back at his assailant's head. "Not cool man."
Thwiping up to the ceiling, Jayce waited for the others who he could hear running over. "Hey, we've got men down!"
They all ran out past him to check on the guys he took out. Web zipping into one of them, he knocked him out flat while also altering all the other thugs.
"...Well I don't suppose you'll all surrender?"
"Get him!"
"Eh, didn't really expect that to work anyway." Jayce shrugged, jumping over a hasty tackle, kicking the guys back, he webbed him in place.
Jumping over to another, he took him apart, sliping under his attacks and hitting him in places that he would likely feel for the rest of the year. Slowly, Jayce took out every single thug present, laying waste to all of them.
Standing amoung a group of unconscious and groaning goons, Jayce took a moment to catch his breath, still not completely used to this kind of activity. Taking a deep breath, he set about searching all if them, taking all their weapons and important things before looking through them.
Plugging a phone into his mask's HUD, he looked through the recent messages and calls. "Hmm, looks like a new gang uprising. They're fighting for territory... but why?"
From what he could see from their texts, there seemed to be a recent power vacuum that opened up, sending all nearby parties into a desperate rush to gain control. And there was one thing that was showing up on each of these thugs, a tattoo.
It was of an old Harley model motorbike, all in black with a gray smoke filling the background. "...Who could you be?"
Sighing, Jayce shook his head deciding to move on. He called the police before swinging away, off to the rest of his patrol, sure to find a ton more information before the night was up.
