Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Star-Lord, I’m Your Fan
On Morag, Korath was tied up on the ground, his energy batons destroyed, and all his subordinates incapacitated. The fight had lasted less than three minutes. Against Alan and his team's overwhelming strength, Korath's group stood no chance.
Struggling on the ground, Korath roared, "Do you know who I am? If you don't release me, the great Kree warrior, Ronan the Accuser, will find this place!"
Alan kicked him hard, making Korath see stars. Convinced now that this group had to be Ravagers—who else could be so ruthless?—he continued his rant.
"Ronan, huh?" Alan delivered another kick.
"The Accuser, right? Well, he's not getting anything but trouble on Morag!"
Alan's relentless kicks eventually knocked Korath unconscious. Just then, Alan heard footsteps and turned around. Star-Lord was emerging from the building, grooving to his own beat.
When Star-Lord noticed Alan standing there, their gazes locked in mutual surprise. Time seemed to freeze.
After a moment of awkward silence, Alan raised his hand in a friendly wave, but before he could say anything, Star-Lord glanced at the unconscious bodies on the ground and bolted.
Being a rogue in the universe, Peter Quill immediately assumed he'd been discovered and was about to be arrested.
Alan quickly instructed Wanda and Gwen to bring the unconscious enemies to their ship, mentioning that criminals like these could fetch a good price in the universe. He then sprinted after Star-Lord.
"Quill! I know you! I'm your fan!" Alan shouted as he chased after him.
Quill didn't slow down; instead, he pulled out his Element Gun and fired a few shots at Alan, who easily dodged them.
"Quill, don't run! I'm not here to steal your stuff—I really am your fan!"
Seeing the misunderstanding deepen, Alan had a sudden idea and shouted, "Meredith! Your mother's name is Meredith!"
Hearing this, Star-Lord finally skidded to a halt. He removed his helmet and turned back, eyeing Alan warily.
"How do you know that name? Who are you?"
To show his sincerity, Alan removed his Emperor Armor. "Look, I'm from Earth too. While you were inside grabbing the Orb, I held off Korath for you."
Although still skeptical, Quill was at least willing to listen now.
Alan explained, "Star-Lord is a famous name across the universe. I know you want to sell the Orb, but you should know a Kree army is also after it!"
Quill pulled out the Orb and suddenly found it a lot less appealing. Sure, he liked money, but his life was far more valuable.
Alan patted him on the shoulder and reassured him, "Don't worry. With me here, you don't need to fear the Kree. But I do need your help with something."
Quill tucked the Orb back into his bag and eyed Alan. "Why should I trust you? I don't even know who you are."
"You don't need to know who I am. But those guys back there? I could've handed you over to them. You can ask them yourself if it weren't for me, you'd already be in their custody."
"Where are they?" Quill asked.
Seeing that Quill was starting to let his guard down, Alan pointed to his ship. "They're on my ship. I'll take you to see them."
As the two made their way toward the ship, Quill couldn't help but glance curiously at Alan's Emperor Armor. In all his travels, he'd never seen anything quite like it.
