Chapter 278: Chapter 278: Is This the Best the Dark Elves Can Do?
"Where are they?! Why haven't they returned yet?!" Algrim roared, stomping the ground so hard it left a deep crater. The two soldiers he had sent out had vanished without a trace. Their original plan was to wait for the Nine Realms to align and use the Aether particles to plunge the universe back into darkness. But now, the Earthling who had been their only clue was missing again!
"Go! Find them! Bring those two back immediately!" Algrim bellowed, his voice shaking the dust around him.
Meanwhile, Alan and his team crouched low, observing the Dark Elves' ship. Countless soldiers guarded the vessel with unwavering vigilance. Breaking through them would take considerable effort, not to mention the challenge of dealing with Algrim, the Cursed Warrior whose strength surpassed even Thor's.
"What should we do, Alan?" Gwen asked nervously. She had never faced such an overwhelming number of enemies before.
Unlike Gwen, Alan had a different mindset. As someone different world and read many war books, he understood the importance of tactics. Despite the Dark Elves' numerical advantage, he remained unfazed.
"Listen to me," Alan began. "Red Queen will use the Space Stone to lure Algrim away. Gwen, you'll protect her—don't engage Algrim directly. Just keep him distracted. Wanda will stay with me. Once Algrim is gone, the remaining Dark Elf soldiers won't stand a chance against your Chaos Magic. You'll take care of them while I enter the ship to drag Malekith out."
As Alan finished speaking, the Dark Elves began to move. Following Algrim's orders, many soldiers dispersed to search for their missing comrades.
Alan signaled to Gwen and Red Queen. Without hesitation, the two stepped out. Red Queen raised her small hand, releasing a surge of Space Stone energy. The Dark Elves immediately turned their attention to the distant glow, their eyes filled with frenzy.
Algrim straightened up, his eyes gleaming.
The energy of the Space Stone was unparalleled, a treasure anyone in the cosmos would covet. For Algrim, it was the key to their plans. With the Space Stone, they could launch an assault on Asgard by teleporting their forces directly into the heart of the realm, catching their enemies off guard.
"Quick! Come with me!" Algrim shouted, leading a group of soldiers toward the energy's source.
Inside the ship, Malekith slowly opened his eyes. He, too, felt the Space Stone's power, but his expression remained calm.
---
"Where could the Aether particles have gone?" Malekith muttered as he rose. Suddenly, the entire ship shuddered. Alarmed, he rushed outside, only to be stunned by the scene before him.
The ground was littered with the bodies of Dark Elf soldiers, scattered like broken puppets. In the distance stood a woman in red, her hands glowing with crimson energy. It was that energy that had wiped out his entire force.
---
Alan stared at Wanda in shock, utterly dumbfounded.
Was she even human? She was like a walking weapon of mass destruction!
The Scarlet Witch's power far surpassed anything Alan had seen in the movies. Her Chaos Magic had obliterated every Dark Elf present with terrifying efficiency.
Wanda turned to Alan, clearly expecting praise.
Alan whispered, "Awesome!"
Wanda nodded, trailing behind him. Spotting a few soldiers still clinging to life, she casually unleashed two more blasts of Chaos Magic, finishing them off without hesitation.
Watching her, Alan silently vowed to never go anywhere without Wanda.
"Who... who are you?!" a furious roar echoed across the battlefield.
