Kain then put away the Six Paths ninja tools. Cloud Shinobi had lost them, and they would no doubt be furious and seek a chance to recover them. 

But that wasn't his problem—Kain, as the boss, never cared much for such ninjas.

Kain stared at the construction team again as they finished cleaning up all the ruins of the pharmaceutical factory. After confirming that there was nothing left to gain, he used Apparition to return to the Hidden Leaf Village.

By this time, Danzo should have returned long ago. That night, Kain immediately contacted Yakushi Nono.

After the video call connected, Kain saw Nono in light gauze pajamas. He coughed slightly and said, "Nono, I have something important to tell you. Would you like to change?"

"Change clothes? Isn't this fine?" Yakushi Nono looked down, then pretended not to notice and asked about something else. "Boss, what happened in the Land of waves?"

Kain adopted a slightly serious tone. "I want to talk about that situation. I need the location of the root base, so I need you to take some time and bring something over."

He needed to know the root's exact location and the layout around it. To achieve this, Yakushi Nono would have to send someone who was recently recruited into the root organization, equipped with a miniature camera to take detailed pictures of the environment around the root base. 

This way, Kain could Apparate directly to the location.

"I understand, boss. I'll go right away."

After Yakushi Nono finished speaking, she ended the video call.

"Wait, Nono."

Seeing this, Kain was a little helpless, so he directly Apparated next to Yakushi Nono. "Nono, you hung up too quickly. It's actually more convenient for me to come to you."

Yakushi Nono was surprised, but quickly calmed down and asked, "Boss, what do you need me to do?"

"Give this to him," Kain said, handing over the miniature camera. "Let him record the environment at the root base in detail, then find a safe place to hide. After that, he has nothing else to do with this."

Yakushi Nono nodded, taking the camera. She then looked up slightly and asked, "Boss, did you injure in the Land of Waves?"

"Fortunately, I've recovered, but Danzo is a hassle. I'll need to deal with him," Kain replied, covering his chest. 

He would have to be more cautious in the future. There were still many threats in the ninja world. Maybe he could find some alchemical items to help—something that could defend against both the soul and physical attacks.

Yakushi Nono nodded, then suddenly said, "If you've learned medical ninjutsu, you have a strong understanding of human muscles. You can clearly know which muscles need to be massaged, which is better than those who have never learned it."

Kain found something odd in her words, so he asked tentatively, "Huh? Nono, you mean?"

"Lie down here, boss. Let me check for you."

Yakushi Nono's tone was gentle, but there was a firm edge to her words. After speaking, she pulled Kain to lie down, then decisively sat on him and began massaging him using medical ninjutsu.

Kain immediately felt the difference between medical ninjutsu massage and Kushina's massage.

It was the difference between general comfort and overall comfort. When Nono used medical ninjutsu, it felt as though countless small hands were gently squeezing and pressing on his muscles. 

Especially since Nono was only wearing silk pajamas at the time.

However, the comfort was so overwhelming that Kain didn't think about anything else. He soon fell asleep due to the sheer relaxation.

Root Base

Danzo's face had been grim ever since he returned from the Land of Waves. He had just been scolded by Sarutobi Hiruzen in the Hokage's office for his actions, which led to Konoha losing a powerful ninja during the war.

Kato Dan had been Sarutobi Hiruzen's necessary means of dealing with Kain, but due to Danzo's false orders and rash decisions, the only spiritual master in the village, a jōnin, had been crippled. 

Both of his legs were amputated, and his lungs were severely damaged. The roots couldn't treat Kato Dan at all. After bringing him back, he was sent to Konoha Hospital. However, Tsunade had no solution for such severe injuries.

After some attempts at rescue, he was left a useless shell, unable to even talk without shortness of breath. Using ninjutsu, let alone refining chakra, would likely kill him.

The roots also suffered heavy losses. Danzo had led four teams, but only three of his subordinates returned. On top of that, he had been severely reprimanded by Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Hokage... Sooner or later it will be me Shimura Danzō," he muttered, his eyes darkened. If he were Hokage, he could mobilize more resources and devise better plans, without needing to cooperate with the Third Raikage at all.

"I will definitely become Hokage…"

Just as Danzo swore to himself, a huge explosion erupted from the root base. The terrifying blast instantly swept across the entire underground space.

Many people in Konoha heard a muffled sound, like a detonating talisman being set off in a sealed room. Guards quickly jumped onto the roofs to locate the source of the explosion.

A short time later, an Anbu member suddenly appeared in Hokage's office and knelt before Sarutobi Hiruzen, reporting: "Hokage-Sama, the Shimura family's compound has collapsed, which is suspected to be related to the muffled explosion just now. Rescue efforts are underway, but no casualties are confirmed yet."

Sarutobi Hiruzen's expression changed drastically upon hearing the news. "Under the Shimura family? Isn't that where the roots are?"
