Chief Roger Dooley's face turned beet red with anger as soon as he received the news that Peggy Carter had slipped away from the heavily guarded diner. The top officer of the Strategic Scientific Reserve's New York Bell Company Office branch summoned all his agents for an urgent meeting.
As soon as the agents gathered, Dooley's voice boomed across the room, "Peggy Carter is a fugitive, and we will not let her slip through our fingers. I want her face plastered on every bus stop, train station, dock, and airport. I want everyone to know that we are on the hunt for her. If any one of you fails to capture her, you can kiss your job goodbye. You will be demoted to grade school hall monitor, and that's if you're lucky."
The agents could feel the Chief's fury seething through his words, and they knew that he meant business. Every one of them understood the gravity of the situation and knew that their jobs were on the line.
When Peggy Carter fled from the diner, she turned to Edwin Jarvis, for help. In a hushed tone, he advised her to take refuge at the Griffith Hotel. Peggy quickly agreed and made her way to the hotel's dimly lit corridors, hoping to remain hidden from her pursuers.
As Peggy slipped into her room, a feeling of unease settled in her stomach. She knew that her pursuers were closing in on her, and it was only a matter of time before they found her. Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door, causing her heart to race. Peggy knew that she had to act fast. She rushed to the window and climbed out, dangling from the ledge as Sousa and Thompson barged into the room.
Peggy's eyes darted around frantically as she surveyed her surroundings. She knew that her escape had to be swift and calculated, or else she would be caught. She took a deep breath and leaped towards the adjacent window, her heart pounding as she landed deftly outside the hallway.
With her fingers tightly gripping the window frame, she pushed it open and slipped inside the narrow passageway. As she ran down the corridor, her mind raced with thoughts of her pursuers, Sousa and Thompson, who were in her room.
Peggy's heart was racing as she ran, trying to stay as silent as possible. She knew that one false move could mean the end of her freedom. Her eyes darted around, scanning the area for any signs of danger. As she raced down the hallway, she heard Sousa and Thompson's voices from her room, and she knew that she had to move fast.
When Peggy made her way down the stairs, a striking blonde girl blocked her path, causing Peggy to halt abruptly. "Move out of the way!" Peggy exclaimed urgently, trying to maneuver around the stranger.
But the girl refused to budge, and to Peggy's utter surprise, she grabbed her and pulled her in for a kiss. Peggy struggled to break free, but the girl's grip was firm, and Peggy realized that there was something strange about the encounter. Suddenly, it hit her like a ton of bricks - the blonde girl was wearing her signature Sweet Dreams Lipstick.
Peggy had been injected with the serum, but to the girl's surprise, she didn't fall unconscious as expected. As she struggled to maintain her composure, the blonde girl's face contorted in confusion and fear, realizing that her plan had failed.
Peggy pushed the girl away and caught her wrist, noticing scars that ran deep on the girl's skin. She realized that they were from handcuffs, a grim reminder of the girl's troubled past.
As Peggy stared at the girl's face, her lips twisted into an eerie smile, she realized that she had uncovered a vital piece of information. The girl was a Russian spy who had stolen an item from Howard Stark, and Peggy had to act fast to bring her to justice.
In a sudden burst of agility, the blonde girl acrobatically released her wrist from Peggy's grip and delivered a swift kick to her face.
* WHAM *
Peggy's training kicked in, and she quickly raised her hands to protect her face, managing to block the kick. But to her surprise, the force of the impact pushed her back, and she stumbled, struggling to regain her balance.
Peggy's adrenaline was pumping as she cracked her knuckles and launched a punch at her adversary.
* WHAM *
But the girl was quick to respond, blocking Peggy's punch and returning the attack with one of her own. The two combatants exchanged blows, each one trying to gain the upper hand in the fight.
Suddenly, the girl's demeanor shifted, and Peggy saw a sly smile cross her face. "Help! Somebody's trying to kill me! Help! Anybody, help me!" the girl shouted, her voice filled with feigned terror.
Peggy's heart sank as she realized that she had been tricked. The girl's cries for help had been nothing more than a ploy to stall her, and now Sousa and Thompson had arrived on the scene, their guns trained on her.
Desperate to escape, Peggy tried to make a run for it, but Sousa's voice stopped her in her tracks. "Peggy, stop! Don't make this worse!" he shouted, his tone pleading.
Peggy gritted her teeth and raised her hands in surrender, knowing that she had no other choice.
As Thompson approached her with handcuffs, he couldn't resist taunting her. "You're a traitor, Peggy. I guess your love for America died when Captain died, right?" he sneered.
Peggy glared at him, her eyes filled with hatred and anger. But before she could respond, Sousa stepped forward, elbowing Thompson sharply in the ribs. "Don't disrespect her, Thompson," he warned, his voice low and steady.
At the Bell Company, Roger Dooley received the news of Peggy's arrest with a mix of relief and anger. He immediately summoned Doctor Ivchenko, unaware that the man was the notorious Johann Fennhoff in disguise.
Once alone with Agent Yauch, Ivchenko used his mind-controlling powers to command Yauch to take him to the lab. To cover his tracks and ensure that no one discovered his unauthorized access, Ivchenko then ordered Yauch to leave the building, go to his favorite bar, order the best bourbon, and then walk out into the busy street, where he would be struck and killed by a passing car.
It was a brutal and calculated move, one that sent shockwaves through the Bell Company and the SSR. Little did they know that Fennhoff's actions were just the beginning of a much larger and more dangerous plan, one that would threaten the safety and security of the entire nation.
