Peggy's house was quiet as Val stepped inside, his heart pounding with determination. He quickly made his way to his bedroom and closed the door behind him. As he turned to face the full-length mirror, he reached into his bag and pulled out a pair of black leather gloves. Slipping them on, he admired his reflection, feeling a sense of confidence wash over him.

Val was dressed head-to-toe in black leather, the outfit was carefully chosen to conceal his body shape and make it difficult for the police to identify him. He adjusted his gas mask, ensuring it was securely in place, and muttered to himself, "I think it's time to stop a massacre."

With a sense of purpose, Val left his room and made his way through the house, the sound of his boots echoing on the hardwood floors. He knew what he had to do, and he was prepared to do whatever it took to stop the senseless massacre which was about to happen.

Peggy's heart was pounding as she was roughly dragged into the SSR office. She stumbled and nearly fell, but the agents held her up, their grip firm.

As they pushed her into the interrogation room, Peggy's eyes darted around the room, taking in her surroundings. She was surprised to see that Jarvis was already there, sitting stoically with his hand tied.

Roger Dooley, the no-nonsense chief of SSR, strode into the room, his eyes fixed on Peggy. He had heard the rumors and the whispers, but he wanted to see for himself if they were true.

"I'm impressed," he said, his voice laced with admiration. "You're good, Carter; holy cow, you are good. I've got a dozen guys in here who wish they could play the game half as well as you."

Peggy bristled at the insinuation that she was playing a game. "I'm not playing a game, I never was!" she protested. "I conducted my investigation because no one listens to me. I got away with it because no one looks at me. Because unless I have your reports, your coffee, or your lunch, I am invisible."

Dooley's expression hardened at her words, and he slammed his fists on the table. "I will be the one to decide whether you are a traitor or not," he growled. "So, shut up and sit here."

With that, he turned on his heel and strode out of the office, leaving Peggy to ponder her fate. She knew that she was innocent, but with the weight of the accusations against her, she couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation.

Peggy let out a heavy sigh and scanned the area, her eyes darting from one corner to the next, searching for any sign of hope. Her gaze finally settled on Jarvis, who was sitting by the wall, his attention fixed on a screen that showed the inside of Dooley's office.

Her eyes caught sight of something that made her blood run cold. In Dooley's office, a man was frantically tapping out Morse code on a piece of paper, his face contorted with urgency.

"He's telling someone to keep a car ready in the next ten minutes," Peggy murmured, her voice laced with concern.

Jarvis turned to her, his expression was grim. "Yes, I saw it too," he said. "We have a serious problem here, Miss Carter."

Peggy's heart pounded in her chest as she realized the gravity of the situation. Without a moment's hesitation, she sprang into action, her mind racing as she tried to figure out her next move.

With a deep breath, she called the SSR agents inside and came clean, admitting that the signed confession from Howard Stark was falsified. As she spoke, she could feel the weight of their suspicion and distrust, but she refused to back down.

She debriefed the senior SSA agents on the real events that had occurred, laying out the evidence and her motivation to prove Stark's innocence. To gain their trust, she showed them the contents of the Blitzkrieg Button, the last vial of Steve Rogers' blood.

As she watched their faces change from skepticism to shock, Peggy felt a glimmer of hope.

When Dooley walked into his office, he noticed someone sitting in his chair. It was Fennhoff, the master manipulator, who rose and congratulated Dooley on his good work. Fennhoff then issued a command, "Take me to the lab where Stark's inventions are." Dooley's eyes went blank, and he nodded robotically, leading the way to the lab with Fennhoff close behind, grinning with satisfaction.

Inside the lab, Fennhoff wasted no time in demanding that Dooley hand over the Midnight Oil and the Stark Heat Vest. Dooley hesitated, internally resisting the control, knowing the consequences of such a dangerous device in the wrong hands. But Fennhoff's powers were too much to resist, and he quickly overpowered Dooley's mind. The once-resolute agent handed over the devices as Dooley donned the Stark Heat Vest and Fennhoff claimed the Midnight Oil.

As Peggy turned to look out of the window, her attention was drawn to a car parked on the street outside the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) office. Peggy narrowed her eyes, focusing on the driver's face, and her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the same woman who had attacked her in the hotel.

Dottie Underwood, the woman in question, caught Peggy's gaze and grinned wickedly, relishing in the fact that she had been caught. She opened the car door and Johann Fennhoff, armed with several canisters of Midnight Oil, got into the car and sped away, leaving Peggy feeling both frustrated and helpless.

Peggy's heart pounded as she watched Dottie and Fennhoff speed away in their car. She cursed under her breath, feeling a mix of frustration and anger at the realization that the villains were getting away once again. "Fuck this shit!" she muttered.

With a sudden burst of strength, Peggy yanked hard on the handcuffs and broke them apart. She turned to Jarvis and broke them apart too as she ran outside the room.

As she burst out of the interrogation room, she was met with a chaotic scene of SSR agents running in all directions. Peggy's instincts kicked in, and she quickly made her way toward Dooley's office. Bursting through the door, she saw Dooley standing with his back turned, wearing the Stark Heat Vest. Peggy's heart sank at the sight, knowing that Dooley was as good as dead.

Soon, Jarvis, Sousa, and Thompson followed behind her, their faces aghast at the grim sight. Peggy felt a pang of guilt for not being able to prevent Dooley's fate.

As he turned to face her, his voice barely above a whisper, Peggy could see the pain etched on his face.

"Promise me, you'll get the son of a bitch who did this. Say it!" Dooley demanded, his eyes locking onto hers.

Without hesitation, Peggy replied, "We'll catch him."

A faint smile flickered across Dooley's face as he nodded in approval. "Attagirl," he said.

As Dooley revealed the truth behind the conspiracy, Peggy's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Fennhoff, the elusive mastermind behind everything, had ordered the theft of Stark's inventions and even orchestrated the death of Ray Krzeminski, all in the pursuit of obtaining the Midnight Oil.

Peggy's mind raced with questions as she tried to piece together the puzzle. "Midnight Oil? Why?" she asked, struggling to make sense of it all.

Dooley took a deep breath and replied, "I've been digging into the things behind some of Stark's inventions and found out that Fennhoff and his brother were exposed to the oil during their time in the Soviet Army. Fennhoff survived, but his brother did not."

The pieces began to fall into place as Peggy realized the full extent of Fennhoff's motivations. "All of this just to get revenge," she said, her voice filled with disgust.

But then Dooley revealed something even more shocking. "He's a mutant, Peggy. A mutant with mind-controlling powers," he said. Peggy's eyes widened in disbelief at the revelation.

"He was controlling me when I ordered your arrest and when I gave him the oil," Dooley continued, his voice strained. "It was like he was the driver while I was sitting in the back seat."

Suddenly, without warning, Dooley's Stark Heat Vest began to glow, and he rushed towards the window. Peggy and the other agents braced themselves as the suit detonated in a massive explosion.

* BOOOM *

As the dust settled, Peggy knew that she had to catch Fennhoff before he caused any more destruction. She clenched her fists, a fierce determination burning in her eyes. She vowed to bring Fennhoff to justice, no matter the cost.
