Chapter 205: The Mutants—Alex Remains the Most Terrifying

BOOM!

The ground shook as if struck by a titan's fist.

The Decepticon sent flying by Havok crashed down, its chest crumpled inward. Sparks burst in all directions, and mechanical components spilled from the gaping wound in a noisy cascade of metal.

> "Cough! Cough!"

The Decepticon wheezed, spitting out more broken parts with every convulsion.

> "What?!"

The other Decepticons were stunned.

One strike—just one—and one of them was already crippled?

Impossible.

But the truth was undeniable. Havok's plasma blast was just that devastating.

Back when he was still raw and untrained, Havok could cut through solid steel. Now, after months of combat drills and real-world experience, his power had reached a whole new level.

BOOM!

Another explosion rocked the battlefield. This time, Liz hurled a blinding torrent of blue energy forward, slamming it into her target with monstrous force.

> "What?!"

The green Decepticon charging her barely had time to raise a defense before it was launched skyward like a discarded toy.

Liz—who once struggled to contain her abilities—had grown tremendously under Emma Frost's tutelage at Alex's base. She hadn't fully unlocked her potential, but she could now control her energy with deadly accuracy.

Like Erik, her powers surged with her emotions—but even in a calm state, she was a force to be reckoned with.

CRASH!

The Decepticon smashed into the ground. Its body twisted and scorched, nearly unrecognizable—just like the one Havok had taken out.

> "She's just as terrifying?!"

Bonecrusher and the remaining Decepticons were beginning to panic.

One after another, these mutants were turning them into scrap metal—in single moves.

This wasn't a battle. This was a massacre.

> "Vincent!"

Not to be outdone, Cyclops shouted toward his teammate.

> "On it!"

From behind cover, Vincent pressed his palm to the ground.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Thick vines burst upward, snaking around the Decepticons' legs and torsos, tightening like constrictors.

Gunfire ceased instantly.

> "What the hell is this?!"

> "Where did these come from?!"

The Decepticons howled, struggling in vain. A few managed to slip away, but the slower ones were quickly overwhelmed.

CLANG! CLANG!

Swords and blades emerged, slashing wildly to sever the vines.

ZAP!

Cyclops seized the moment, his eyes glowing red before unleashing a scorching optic beam.

BOOM!

Another Decepticon was blasted off its feet, tumbling through the air before crashing to the ground in a heap.

> "These guys…!"

Slash, watching from behind cover, was wide-eyed.

The reinforcements from the other bases were absolutely insane.

The battle had barely begun, and they were already dominating?

> "Earthmover! If we don't step it up, we're gonna look like background extras!"

> "Tch! These guys are monsters!"

Earthmover gritted his teeth before diving into the ground like a swimmer slicing through water.

A heartbeat later, a pair of hands erupted from beneath a Decepticon, grabbing it by the ankles and yanking it down.

Whoosh!

The Decepticon was dragged halfway into the earth, flailing helplessly.

> "My turn! Woo-hoo!"

Slash grinned and flung his arm out, unleashing a crescent-shaped blade of red energy.

BOOM!

The Decepticon erupted from the ground in a panic, but not quickly enough.

CLANG!

With a metallic screech, its left arm was severed, sparks gushing from the exposed socket.

> "What the hell is going on?!"

Bonecrusher was rattled.

They'd started with seven Decepticons.

Fang had been obliterated by a fighter jet.

Sidewinder had been flattened by the so-called "Magnetic Man."

And now, in just the first few minutes of battle—four more had been rendered combat ineffective.

Only Bonecrusher and a one-armed Rhinox remained standing.

The others were either down or so damaged they were little more than junk.

Was this the power of mutants?

Was this the terror Megatron had warned them about?

> "This is insane…"

Not far away, Akins and the others—freed from Charles' psychic influence—watched in disbelief.

Just moments ago, these Decepticons had made them feel utterly helpless.

And now?

They were being butchered.

The tide of battle had turned in an instant.

One Decepticon after another fell like dominoes.

But it wasn't over.

Because now—Erik raised his hand.

Every remaining Decepticon was suddenly lifted into the air—trapped, suspended, powerless.

With a single motion, he closed his fist—

Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

Those already weakened—shattered completely under his telekinetic might. Their twisted remains rained down like crushed soda cans.

Only Bonecrusher and Rhinox thrashed against the invisible grip.

> "Is this the strength you were so proud of?"

Erik's voice was cold. Disdainful.

> "Pathetic."

Then, with a flick—

BOOM!

Bonecrusher was ripped in half.

At the same moment, Slash launched another energy slash, finishing off Rhinox.

Just like that, the original Decepticon squad was annihilated.

The mutants had officially claimed their first decisive victory.

But there was no time to rest.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The sharp roar of engines filled the sky.

Four Decepticon fighter jets sliced through the clouds.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Ground forces followed—dozens of vehicles roaring from every direction. Tanks, trucks, and cars transformed mid-motion, slamming into the battlefield.

Bonecrusher's reinforcements had arrived.

There were dozens of them.

> "Heh heh heh…"

Bonecrusher's final laugh echoed in their minds.

Even if he'd died, his message had been clear:

> You mutants may be powerful—but can you handle thirty of us?

Worse, during the battle, Bonecrusher had transmitted detailed combat data to his allies.

Now, the Decepticons knew about the mutants' abilities.

They had come prepared.

> "You really thought this was over?"

> "You thought you'd won?"

Missiles screamed through the air.

Erik reacted instantly, raising a hand to halt them mid-flight—and hurled them back.

But the jets dodged with ease.

They were too high. Out of reach.

The Decepticon jets circled like vultures, raining down machine-gun fire and explosives, forcing the mutants into a defensive formation.

> "Damn it! Come down here and fight like bots!"

Slash shouted in frustration.

> "Slash, they're jets," said Hawkeye, giving him a half-hearted pat. "They're supposed to stay in the air."

> "So we just let them bully us?!"

Then—Erik turned.

His gaze landed on a figure who had remained still all this time.

> "Alex."

His voice was steady. Calm.

> "It's your turn."

All eyes shifted to the silent young man.

Earthmover, Slash, and Hawkeye exchanged stunned glances.

Alex? What could he do against jets?

Then they remembered—

Alex had taken out Fang in midair like it was nothing.

They didn't just have a fighter on their team.

They had a monster.

> "Leave it to me."

Alex nodded.

Then—

BOOM!

A sonic boom cracked the air as Alex vanished, launching into the sky like a missile.

A split second later—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The four Decepticon jets exploded simultaneously.

BOOM!

Another shockwave, and Alex reappeared where he had stood—as if he'd never left.

Silence.

Even those who knew Alex—Erik, Charles, and the rest—couldn't help but stare in disbelief.

In that moment, they realized:

Alex…

Was now even more terrifying than before.
