Chapter 282: Cloning Complete
"They used to be in a relationship and were college classmates, but they broke up later," Hermann suddenly told the curious Lin Yurou.
"Really? Dr. Hermann, why did they break up if they were in a relationship? They still seem to like each other," Lin Yurou asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Well, it was because of the kaiju attacks a few years ago. Newton insisted on joining a secret kaiju research program, but Chloe disagreed, which led to their breakup. After they broke up, Newton joined the kaiju research team but realized he still loved Chloe. That's why he devoted all his attention to studying kaiju and developed an intense interest in them," Hermann explained with regret.
"I see! It's a shame that two people in love can't be together," Lin Yurou said, understanding the situation.
"Haha, this world truly feels complete, with full-fledged interpersonal relationships," Li Yue thought. Although he had no interest in Newton's romantic history, Hermann's words made him reflect on how a complete world differs from a movie.
...
"What's the deal? Weren't there supposed to be live dinosaurs here? We haven't seen any so far!" Lin Yurou complained after a few minutes of walking.
After passing through several checkpoints guarded by armed personnel, they had yet to see a single dinosaur.
"Haha, little girl, the park isn't officially open yet. The dinosaurs are in the jungle. Even we researchers don't see them often unless we're lucky. But my boss has authorized me to give you a special preview of the park, so you'll get to see them soon. There are triceratops, pterosaurs, and even velociraptors and T-rexes. You'll be amazed," Chloe responded, understanding Lin Yurou's complaint, even though it was in Chinese.
"Sorry! But, Chloe, are you serious? We can really tour the park?" Lin Yurou asked, excited.
"Of course, but first, we need to complete the task you came here for. Welcome to my lab," Chloe said as they arrived at a room with semi-transparent glass walls.
"You can watch and wait here while I handle the task," she added before entering the lab alone.
"Wait, Chloe, thank you for your help!" Newton called out as she was about to close the door.
"No need for such formalities between us," Chloe replied, smiling before closing the door.
...
Li Yue had no idea what Chloe was doing inside, but after nearly two hours, she finally emerged. Lin Yurou, who had grown impatient, perked up as Chloe stepped out.
"Alright, it's done. You can come in now," Chloe announced, inviting them into the lab.
"Finally! If I had known it would be this boring, I wouldn't have come," Lin Yurou grumbled, expressing her regret.
"Well, it's too late to regret it now. Let's go in," Li Yue said, leading the way into the lab.
...
Inside, the lab was filled with various instruments and unknown biological specimens. Li Yue noticed what seemed to be parts of dinosaur organs among them. Although he wasn't particularly interested in dinosaurs, he was curious about the technology that brought them back to life. He suspected it was more complex than the movie suggested.
In the centre of the lab was a large glass container housing the kaiju brain Newton had preserved. Li Yue noted that he hadn't seen anyone carry it inside, suggesting a secret passage in the lab.
...
Besides, the large container was smaller, only a few dozen centimetres, and contained a much smaller version of the kaiju brain.
"This is the cloned brain. What do you plan to do with it? It won't last long," Chloe said, pointing to the small container. She needed clarification about their intentions with the short-lived brain.
"Chloe, thanks for your help. I'll take it from here," Newton said, thanking Chloe and giving her a meaningful look. He then turned to the two brains, picking up a tubular connection device to prepare for the neural interface.
...
"I don't know why, but I feel like I can't express the ideas in my head today," Li Yue thought, frustrated.
