Half a month later, the Kent family, after nearly a month of travel, finally returned to their farm.

Whew! Home feels so comfortable!

Mike put down the luggage and sighed, then turned to the three boys behind him. "Hurry up! Unpack, and let's go to the restaurant in town for a meal!"

However, instead of the cheers he expected, the boys let out a chorus of groans.

"Oh no!" Eric cried out in dismay, "Dad, I don't want to eat outside food anymore!"

Charles, with tears welling up in his eyes, looked at Mike and said, "I'm about to throw up, Dad."

Clark shouted, "I want braised pork!"

Gulp!

The three of them all swallowed at once.

"You three little gluttons!" Mike said, flicking Charles on the nose. "First, put the luggage away. I'll go buy the meat, and you all stay home and behave."

The three boys nodded furiously.

Mike smiled, put the luggage down, and headed out the door.

Driving to the town's supermarket, Mike picked up some ingredients, trying to get everything he needed. Afterward, he bought a few toys for the kids and left the store with bags in hand.

He placed the items in the back seat of the car, and just as he was about to get in the driver's seat, something caught his attention across the street at the electronics store.

Raven?

Looking at the TV in the window, Mike smiled slightly.

On the screen, there were scenes of battles, and Raven's face flashed briefly, though there wasn't much more about her.

"She's still as active as ever."

Mike murmured to himself before getting in the car.

Since they last parted, it had been three years since he'd seen Raven.

But over these three years, he had occasionally seen her on TV.

Although they stayed in touch, they only spoke sporadically, catching up on each other's lives without delving into much detail. After the incident at Three Mile Island, the Hellfire Club had become increasingly active, and Raven had become busier.

Mike shook his head and started the car, heading home.

No matter what the Hellfire Club was up to, or how the government was involved, it no longer mattered to him. After all, he was just a farmer now.

Once home, he cooked a hearty dinner for his three little gluttons, then sent them off to bed. Finally, Mike had a bit of personal time.

Sitting at his desk, Mike turned to the system, a smile tugging at his lips.

After returning home today, the three boys received a new growth record labeled "A Remote Journey", and Mike's own ability level had finally upgraded.

*Host:* Mike Kent

*Newbie Gift:* Assassin's Time

*Ability:* Memory Illusion Manifestation

*Current Ability Level:* LV2

*Current Upgrade Progress:* 1%

*Son:* Clark Kent (Kryptonian)

*Son:* Eric Kent (Mutant, Unawakened)

*Son:* Charles Kent (Mutant, Unawakened)

I leveled up!

Finally!

Mike had a moment of pride, feeling almost teary-eyed from the emotion.

He silently gave himself a mental thumbs-up before starting to experiment with the changes in his abilities.

First, he noticed that his manifestation power had increased significantly. He could now maintain the manifestation for a much longer time, and some items and equipment he couldn't manifest before could now be brought into existence.

Secondly... it was amazing!

Mike's eyes brightened.

In addition to physical items, he could now manifest abilities!

No—more precisely, he could now manifest skills!

While abilities could be used continuously, skills could only be used once.

For example...

If he manifested a fire-related power, he could keep using fireballs or similar attacks. But now, he could only manifest a single fireball. Once it was used, he would need to manifest another one.

Let's try it!

Mike's eyes flashed as he searched his memories for a skill to manifest.

A few minutes later, with a flash in his eyes, he extended his palm, and a swirling light appeared. He clenched his hand, using the skill, and in an instant, his body flickered and vanished from where he stood, reappearing outside the house.

Teleportation.

It worked!

This ability upgrade was totally worth it!

The manifestation time was still quite long, so using it in combat would be suicide.

But... luckily, he had the cards, which could store skills.

Creating those cards was definitely a brilliant decision!

Mike jogged back home, sat down at his desk again, and was about to manifest some cards to add new ones to his inventory when he paused.

At the bottom of the system page, there was a line of small text that caught his eye.

"You have new rewards to claim."

Mike's lips twitched.

This system was sometimes absolutely infuriating.

If he hadn't noticed it this time, or if he hadn't checked the system, who knows when he would have discovered the reward?

Claim reward.

With a thought, he selected to claim it.

A piece of information appeared in Mike's mind.

The reward was a lottery, and the item he would receive was a permanent piece of equipment.

Mike focused and silently willed for the virtual lottery box to appear in front of him.

The box gently swayed, and one item after another flashed before his eyes.

Faraway Dreamland, Baby Teeth, Thor's Hammer, Zhaitan's Seal, The Chains of Heaven, Longinus' Spear...

Looking at those items, Mike couldn't help but feel envious.

Taking a deep breath, Mike began to select his item.

He reached into the lottery box, made a quick grab as if catching something, and when he pulled his hand out, a glowing orb appeared in his palm. A new item materialized in his hand.

It was a small box, slightly bigger than the size of a palm, entirely silver with intricate golden lines etched on it. It looked extremely mysterious.

And as soon as the item appeared, its information appeared in Mike's mind.

*Eternal Cigarette Case.*

The functionality of this item was simple: it could store objects, and once the stored items were used, they would automatically be restored to the cigarette case after twenty-four hours.

In other words, if you put cigarettes in this box, you'd have an endless supply. No wonder it was called the Eternal Cigarette Case.

Mike stared at the box, and his expression turned thoughtful.

Wait a second!

The size of the box seemed to be just right for storing his cards...

His fingers lightly twitched, and a card appeared between his fingers.

Mike opened the cigarette case and tried to put the card inside.

"Could this really work?"

He was momentarily stunned, then, with a thought, the card inside the cigarette case reappeared in his fingers.

As a system reward, this cigarette case was incredibly convenient. The items inside could materialize at his will and could even be stored in his mind. It was incredibly magical.

The card silently cracked apart, and an ordinary weapon he had created long ago appeared in his hand before vanishing.

With another thought, the Eternal Cigarette Case disappeared.

Now, he would just have to wait for twenty-four hours to see if the card would regenerate. If it really did, this item would be incredibly useful to him.

Mike rubbed his forehead, took a moment to calm his mind, and then began creating new skill cards.

His stock of skill cards was almost nonexistent, and that made him feel a little uneasy.

"Let's set a small goal for myself first..."

He whispered to himself and got busy.
