Chapter 300 : The whole army attacks!
"I'll be your opponent."
Captain America, Steve Rogers, glared at General Corvus Glaive and the others.
Although Steve didn't know the full story, what he overheard through the comms told him enough—these aliens were far more dangerous than most Earth-based threats.
Even knowing he might lose, Steve stepped forward without hesitation.
"Another one? Ebony Maw, don't move. Leave this handsome one to me," Proxima Midnight said with a thrill in her voice, clearly fascinated by Earth's superheroes.
"Steve Rogers," Steve introduced himself before charging straight at her.
As the two clashed, Ebony Maw turned toward Corvus Glaive with disdain.
"Corvus Glaive, control your wife. We're here for a mission. How long until we retrieve the Space Stone?"
Ebony Maw was visibly annoyed by Proxima Midnight's reckless enthusiasm, clearly unimpressed by what he considered weak Earthlings.
Corvus Glaive merely glanced at him and replied indifferently, "As long as she's enjoying herself."
He abruptly turned and swung his scythe with deadly precision behind him—
—where the Invisible Woman, Susan Storm, had just phased in for a sneak attack.
She barely had time to react.
How did he see through my invisibility?! Susan thought in shock. If Reed hadn't pulled her back in time, the scythe would've killed her on the spot.
"Be careful. They're stronger than they look," Reed Richards warned, his voice low and grim.
Suddenly, an icicle and a stream of fire shot toward Ebony Maw from opposite directions—
—attacks launched by Iceman and Pyro of the X-Men.
They attempted a pincer move, coordinating to strike simultaneously.
Ebony Maw remained composed. He lifted his hand and made a gentle flicking motion with his fingers, as if conducting a symphony.
A strange force surged through the air, instantly neutralizing both the fire and the ice. The attacks vanished like smoke in the wind.
"There seem to be quite a few rats," Ebony Maw remarked with a mocking smile. The elegance of his tone made the insult sting sharper.
He calmly placed a silk handkerchief back into his pocket, as if the entire exchange had been little more than a fleeting inconvenience.
His eyes scanned the battlefield before he lifted his hand again—this time unleashing a powerful telekinetic burst.
Cars, broken trees, and nearby debris soared into the air, shaped by his will into deadly projectiles that arced like blades toward the X-Men.
Elsewhere on the field, Proxima Midnight and Captain America exchanged blow after blow.
Steve's strength and reflexes held up well against the alien warrior. His enhanced physique—the perfect balance of human potential—allowed him to match her blow for blow, at least for now.
The battle, broadcast via satellite, captivated viewers around the world.
Everyone watching clung to hope—hoping Earth's heroes would prevail.
"With all these superheroes showing up, maybe we've got a real shot at beating them."
"Captain America's fighting one-on-one with a Black Order general. The rest of them are just ganging up on the others!"
"That skinny alien... never knew ugly could look so refined."
"Elegance never goes out of style."
"Looks pretty even so far. Maybe these aliens aren't that unbeatable."
"The Hell's Kitchen guys haven't joined in yet. Don't tell me Alex Ray really caused all this?"
"What kind of guy is Alex Ray? Good at fighting Earth's own problems, but when it comes to outside threats, he's still MIA!"
At the Lucky Dinner restaurant in Hell's Kitchen, Tobey's version of Peter Parker stared grimly at the TV screen showing Corvus Glaive and the Black Order.
He was adjusting his Spider-Man suit in front of a mirror, the tension visible in the slight tremble of his hands.
Doctor Octopus, seated nearby, noticed. "Why so nervous, Parker?"
Everyone's attention turned toward Tobey's Peter.
"Yeah… a little nervous. It's not the first time I've been in public, but this is the first time I'm stepping out as a representative of Hell's Kitchen," Peter admitted. "You're not nervous?"
"It's fine. You're Spider-Man. And we're right here with you, brother," said Harry Osborn as he tightened the straps on his suit.
"Relax. We've got your back. Just treat it like any other fight," Daredevil added, polishing his blade.
Pietro Maximoff—Quicksilver—watched the footage and muttered, "I wonder when it'll be our turn. I still need to rack up more friend points. Damn Tony Stark got a head start again."
"Shouldn't be long," said John Wick with a yawn, unfazed as always. "Looks like the Illuminati and Avengers are already struggling. Alex should be giving us the signal soon."
Pietro turned toward a man seated quietly near the corner. "Are we really deploying everyone? Doesn't the Vongola family usually stay behind to guard Hell's Kitchen?"
The man Pietro addressed—Vongola I—rarely left his headquarters, so his presence here was unusual. Even the professors from the community college were assembled.
Doc Ock responded for him. "Alex said to wait at the restaurant. If these aliens launch a surprise attack on Hell's Kitchen, we can return immediately using the home system. If not, we wait for his confirmation, then strike all at once—to show them what Hell's Kitchen is made of.
Last time, Hell's Kitchen got wrecked in a war. We can't afford to let that happen again. Better to strike first."
Vongola I seemed about to add something when, suddenly, a golden ring of light began to form in the center of the room.
Everyone fell silent.
Vongola I simply nodded, said nothing more, and stepped forward into the portal.
This time, the enemy wasn't some street gang. This was war—real war. One misstep, and you die
