Chapter 222 : The Current State of the Illuminati and the Hammer that Falls from the Sky

"This is our organization, the Illuminati. Welcome to join us, Agent Kadoya Tsukasa." Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards said with a smile to the new agent standing before him.

He looked at the agent holding a magenta camera and couldn't help but admire him quietly. It seemed that talented and righteous people always carried an unusual style.

This agent, Kadoya Tsukasa, was not invited by Reed himself but by Alexander Pierce of Hydra.

At first, Reed thought Tsukasa was just someone with connections and didn't pay him much mind. But after witnessing Tsukasa's abilities, Reed realized this man was a trump card against Alex Ray. He had also heard from Director Pierce that Tsukasa might have connections to the mysterious X-Corporation behind Alex Ray.

Perhaps this was an opportunity for the Illuminati and Hydra to establish ties with the X-Corporation.

Reed naturally had his own thoughts. After all, he had just become the leader of the Illuminati, but the organization currently lacked talented individuals.

Steve Rogers, Captain America, had grown disillusioned after Nick Fury's death and losing an arm. He had resigned and retreated into seclusion.

Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, and Clint Barton, Hawkeye, had many grievances about the Illuminati and Director Pierce. But unlike Steve, they could not simply retire; their backgrounds and identities forbade it.

They were demoted to other departments as a lesser option, and since they were just ordinary agents, Reed paid them little mind.

As the new leader of the Illuminati, Reed was full of hope for the organization's future. However, he was painfully aware that their talent pool was thin. Captain America had withdrawn from the scene; Black Widow and Hawkeye were sidelined.

What worried Reed even more was that the Fantastic Four was now defunct in name only.

Ben Grimm remained in Hell's Kitchen, while Susan Storm had become estranged from him due to past events. Now, the only reliable member was Johnny Storm, the Human Torch.

Although Johnny still had room to grow, his enthusiasm and loyalty gave Reed hope.

When Reed thought of Alex Ray seizing the special abilities of most X-Men and Avengers, he clenched his teeth with hatred toward Ray.

Why had all these superpowered people gathered in the dilapidated Hell's Kitchen? What was so good about it? S.H.I.E.L.D. had federal backing and Hydra's support β€” how could it be worse than Hell's Kitchen?

How could Reed allow himself to be overshadowed by Alex Ray? He believed he could do better.

Yet the addition of Tsukasa Kadoya opened new possibilities.

Reed believed that by fully utilizing Tsukasa's abilities and leveraging his ties with the X-Corporation, the Illuminati could enter a new era of development.

Reed had not been idle during this period.

Understanding the importance of talent, he first turned to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, carefully selecting gifted individuals, including Sam Wilson, Falcon, renowned for his aerial prowess.

Adding Falcon brought powerful air support to Reed's team and enhanced their overall combat capability.

But Reed didn't stop there.

He expanded his influence further and successfully allied with Blackagar Boltagon, Black Bolt, king of the Inhumans.

As leader of the Inhumans, Black Bolt's influence was unquestionable.

Under his rule, the Inhumans demonstrated incredible power.

Medusalith Amaquelin, Medusa, possessed superhuman strength and reaction speed. She could control her hair growth at will, using it for offense and defense, making her nearly invulnerable in battle.

Karnak Mander-Azur was another remarkable Inhuman.

He possessed extraordinary physical strength, endurance, flexibility, and reaction speed, surpassing even Captain America in raw ability.

Gorgon Petragon wielded seismic waves to shake the earth in battle.

Triton thrived underwater, swimming at high speeds, giving him an edge in aquatic combat.

Crystalia Amaquelin, Crystal, could control the four classical elements: earth, water, fire, and air, commanding nearly all natural forces.

The addition of the Inhumans injected new life into Reed's team.

However, the Inhumans were not completely under Reed's control; they were merely allies.

This unsettled Reed, who had a strong desire for control. He could not accept being in a weaker position within the alliance.

Additionally, the Illuminati included Hydra's power, and Director Pierce's longtime partner Brock Rumlow, Crossbones, was among their ranks.

Reed was eager to increase his influence in the Illuminati.

He knew that only by growing his strength and clout could he secure a more important position.

At times, Reed sighed at Hydra's power. Since joining forces with them, he had realized how many individuals with extraordinary abilities existed in the world.

During this period, Reed was busy managing various affairs, the most important being negotiations with Atlantis and Wakanda.

Atlantis was an underwater kingdom whose people could breathe beneath the sea. With Hydra's help, Reed made contact with Namor McKenzie, the Sea King.

Though the negotiations were ongoing, Reed already sensed the dawn of cooperation.

However, talks with Wakanda were less smooth.

The Wakandan king was deeply resistant to S.H.I.E.L.D., making things difficult for Reed.

Still, he did not give up and sought other breakthroughs.

Learning that Wakanda's next heir, the Golden Lion, showed interest in S.H.I.E.L.D., Reed decided to start there.

He planned to establish cooperation with the Golden Lion as his next priority.

He believed working with the heir would open Wakanda's doors and advance Hydra's agenda.

Reed was confident in the future.

He believed that under his leadership, the Illuminati would thrive and become an unstoppable force.

Obstacles like Hell's Kitchen and Alex Ray were mere stumbling blocks on his path. He would overcome them easily and move forward.

Just then, a sturdy agent hurried over, face tight with nervousness. Approaching Chief Reed, he whispered urgently, "Chief Reed, we have the latest intelligence. According to reliable sources, something very strange happened in the state of Mexico. A hammer suddenly fell from the sky without any warning."

"A hammer?!" Reed's eyes narrowed sharply.
