He summoned his glider and violently knocked Aunt May aside. Seeing her collapse, Peter's heart surged with a mix of rage and helplessness.
But the Green Goblin wasn't finished. Riding his glider, he sneered, "Peter, Peter, Peter... remember, good intentions don't always bring good rewards." His voice dripped with sarcasm and menace, as if blaming Peter for all that was happening.
"You'll thank me later." With that, he hurled a bomb at Aunt May's fallen form.
Peter lunged to catch it, but the explosion still went off.
The massive shockwave threw everything into disarray. Thankfully, Aunt May was unharmed.
She scrambled to Peter's side and wrapped him in a tight embrace.
Despite nearly losing her life because of him, she blamed Peter not at all. Instead, she comforted him gently, "You have extraordinary power—it's a gift."
Peter, the Holland version, stared after the retreating Green Goblin with sincere regret.
He shouldn't have insisted on saving villains. He should have listened to Strange. The situation was his own doing.
"With great power comes great responsibility," Aunt May's words lifted Peter's spirits. He knew he couldn't give up now.
Watching the Green Goblin flee, Peter's heart burned with determination.
He couldn't let Aunt May down—he had to stand and fight.
But Aunt May's condition suddenly worsened. She collapsed again.
Though the explosion hadn't struck her directly, the shockwave inflicted serious damage.
She lay among shattered bricks, pale and breathless. Her body in pain, her heart filled with worry for Peter.
She wanted to tell him he had done nothing wrong, that he should not blame himself.
Peter stood nearby, tears welling as he looked at her fragile form.
Aunt May was his only family in this world—her existence was vital to him.
He couldn't accept losing her. Despair and helplessness overwhelmed him.
"Strange... Doctor Strange must have a way!" Peter muttered anxiously, clinging to hope.
But he quickly realized that due to his mistakes, Strange remained trapped in the Mirror Dimension—unable to help.
His hopes shattered, despair engulfed him.
"Tony... Mr. Stark must have a way!" Peter suddenly thought of another ally.
He frantically dialed Stark's number again and again, but there was no answer.
Peter Holland was filled with desperation. "Please, someone save Aunt May. She shouldn't have to suffer for my mistakes."
Then, a voice called from behind him: "Hey, man, looks like you could use some help."
He turned sharply, stunned into silence. "You... you are...?"
Toby's version of Peter removed his mask, revealing a shy but determined expression.
"I'm Spider-Man. Also Peter Parker—your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. I know you have questions, but I can explain later. Right now, let me heal your Aunt May."
From his pocket, Toby Peter pulled out a magical bean. It had been gifted to him by Master Alex Ray in another universe—a charm to protect him from harm and ensure survival until Alex Ray arrived.
He approached Aunt May gently and fed her the bean.
Peter hesitated but chose to trust this other Peter.
Seconds later, Aunt May, who had been near death, suddenly opened her eyes as if nothing had happened, stunning everyone present.
Tears instantly filled Peter Holland's eyes and then broke into a joyful smile.
"Shouldn't I be dead? Am I in heaven? Peter, why are you here too?" Aunt May's voice trembled with confusion and fear.
She scanned the surroundings, as if unable to believe she was alive.
Peter Holland hugged her tightly, voice trembling: "Aunt May, this isn't heaven. You're still alive."
His eyes shone with gratitude and relief. Losing her had been unthinkable; regaining her felt miraculous.
Toby's Spider-Man watched quietly, memories flooding back.
He had been saved before by Master Alex Ray—and now it was his turn to protect Spider-Man's loved ones across worlds.
Time seemed to fly. Yesterday, he was the boy needing protection; today, he was the protector.
Aunt May noticed the spider suit Toby wore—identical to the one her Peter used to wear.
She approached Toby Peter with gratitude and curiosity. "Thank you for saving me. Who are you?"
