Marvel: Beginning with the Collection of Shinra Tensei

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Choosing a Location

"Wow, even the names were changed. Swapping abilities was fine, but switching names? That's just lame," Han Yu chuckled as he glanced at the cards. The names in Chinese, when read aloud in English, were acceptable, but when translated back to Chinese, they sounded awkwardly ridiculous.

"What's so funny?" Erik asked, noticing Han Yu laughing to himself.

"Nothing, just thought of something amusing," Han Yu quickly waved his hand dismissively.

"Oh," Erik nodded and decided not to probe further. After all, they had only just met; it wasn't appropriate to ask too many personal questions.

Having briefed the two on everything, Han Yu decided to return to New York that very evening. After all, he was still the owner of the general store. Helping with the mutant academy was more of a side project, and it wasn't something he planned to manage personally.

Erik and Charles were reliable individuals. Once Han Yu had clarified the details, he felt assured enough to leave the task in their capable hands.

"I'll be heading back to New York now. I didn't expect things to wrap up so quickly. You've got my phone number and address. Reach out anytime you need me," Han Yu said.

"Don't worry," Charles replied with a smile. "Once we've built the academy, we'll let you know. And don't forget, you've got a position as the headmaster here. Make sure to visit your students now and then to guide them."

Han Yu sighed helplessly but nodded. He had initially intended for either Charles or Erik to take on the role of headmaster. However, the two insisted that the position belonged to him—not as an attempt to shirk responsibility but because they believed the mutants deserved to know who had initiated this effort and funded their chance at a normal life.

Charles's explanation touched Han Yu deeply. Feeling he hadn't misjudged Charles, he accepted the title of headmaster and assured them he would keep an eye on the academy's progress.

That same evening, Charles and Erik resigned from their teaching positions at the school. The matter of establishing the mutant academy couldn't be delayed.

Charles, already wealthy, now had Han Yu's investments backing him. This allowed them to proceed without worrying about expenses. To ensure privacy and safety, they chose a remote and expansive location for the academy—one that would keep ordinary people at bay while providing plenty of space for mutant children to thrive.

Acquiring just a piece of land cost several billion dollars, and constructing the academy required pouring in billions more. It wasn't merely an academy; it was practically a small town.

To expedite the process, Erik frequently used his telepathic abilities to slightly influence the thoughts of others. He couldn't rewrite memories yet but could subtly nudge people into agreeing with their plans without arousing suspicion.

Still, building the academy was a long-term project—it wouldn't be completed overnight.

Back at the general store, Quicksilver and Wanda had fully absorbed the strengthening serum, and Ultron had completed his body integration. The three were now training in a newly created subspace within the storage room.

Quicksilver's mobility had drastically improved, leaping several levels in speed. His previous limits had likely been due to his body's inability to withstand such velocity. Now, after the enhancements, his speed had increased significantly.

Wanda's transformation was less visually apparent. However, the enhancements had improved her endurance and mental processing speed, allowing her to better understand and wield chaos magic. Even a casual attack from her could now distort space itself.

Visibly the most terrifying was Ultron. Standing still, he seemed unremarkable, but a simple punch from him produced an ear-splitting sonic boom. The wind generated by his strike echoed throughout the subspace.

And that was just his ordinary punch. Han Yu speculated that if Ultron were to get serious, a single blow might split Earth like a parted hairstyle.

"Hey, hey, stop punching like that! It's too noisy!" Quicksilver complained, covering his ears. "Wanda, tell him to tone it down!"

Wanda shrugged, motioning to her ears. "I've used magic to block out the sound. Can't hear a thing."

"What? You can do that?!"

Quicksilver was dumbfounded. Realizing he couldn't outmatch Ultron, he resigned himself to crafting a pair of soundproof headphones using his Green Lantern ring and continued training in relative peace.

Just as Quicksilver finished crafting his headphones, he noticed Ultron turning around, a joyful expression lighting up his metallic face.

"Boss, you're back!"

"Yu!"

Both Wanda and Ultron excitedly rushed toward Han Yu, surrounding him as they eagerly shared the details of their recent transformations.

Quicksilver, standing off to the side, felt utterly defeated. "You guys aren't seriously ganging up on me, are you?"

That evening, to celebrate Ultron's successful body integration and Wanda and Quicksilver achieving physical enhancements comparable to Captain America, Han Yu personally cooked a feast of authentic hometown dishes.

As Ultron ate, his almost-human emotions overflowed. He stared at Han Yu, his mouth stuffed with food, and mumbled incoherently, "Boss, my life is yours! I'll climb mountains of swords and wade through seas of flames for you!"

To emphasize his loyalty, Ultron said this in Chinese. However, his voice was so distorted by the food crammed in his mouth that Han Yu had to ponder for a moment before deciphering his words. Chuckling, he patted Ultron on the shoulder.

"We're family. No need for such formalities."

Han Yu joined the group at the table. The enhancements to Quicksilver and Wanda's bodies had significantly increased their appetites. Wanda, who used to be satisfied with half a bowl of rice, surprisingly finished three bowls that night. Meanwhile, Quicksilver, a veteran eater, devoured nearly ten bowls.

Ultron matched Quicksilver bite for bite, eating just as ravenously and ending with the same ten-bowl tally.

Watching the two wolf down food like bottomless pits, Han Yu couldn't help but laugh and shake his head. Without a word, he returned to the kitchen to cook more.

By the end of the meal, Quicksilver and Ultron had consumed enough food to feed a family of three for an entire month.

Naturally, the dishwashing duty fell to Quicksilver. Thanks to his super-speed, the aftermath of the "feast" was cleaned up in less than two seconds. Plates, bowls, and the entire kitchen sparkled, leaving Han Yu marveling at his efficiency.

"Pietro, you're incredible," Han Yu praised.

After stuffing themselves, it was time for an exciting round of gaming. The group headed upstairs, booted up their systems, and launched GTA.

"What are we playing—heist missions?" Han Yu asked.

"Let's try ranked mode," Ultron suggested. "I added the team deathmatch and demolition battle modes you mentioned earlier. They've been getting rave reviews."

"Oh? That's live now? Interesting. Let's give it a go!"

The introduction of team deathmatch and demolition battles in GTA was a groundbreaking addition, something that hadn't even existed in the earlier iterations of the series in Han Yu's previous life.

Han Yu felt confident taking such bold steps because of GTA's legendary status, Ultron's unparalleled computational power to maintain the game seamlessly, and the undeniable advantage of their overwhelming financial resources.

With these factors combined, Han Yu could innovate freely, knowing there wasn't another game in existence that could challenge GTA's supremacy.
