Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

After being affected by the poison, the movement speed of the Earth Overturning Great monster slowed down quite a bit. This allowed the other knights to now have a chance of dodging it's attacks.

Not just that but with their numbers advantage, some of them even managed to get close to the monsters in order to land a few hits. Obviously the knights used life force to strengthen themselves and their weapons when landing the hits.

But even then, those attacks were able to barely create a few dents in the scales and hide of the great monster. So these attacks failed to reach even the flesh of the monster and were completely useless.

Karl had also taken this opportunity to land a blow on the large beast and just like the others, his attack was was also not very effective.

Most of the knights here had specialisation in the strength attribute. So if they could not hurt the beast, then doing so would be even harder of the knights whose's speciality was not strength.

As the knights were feeling very disappointed, suddenly the count made his move, it was his first time doing a serious attack and everyone looked at him with some hope and curiosity in their eyes.

The same was true for Weiss. The biggest uncertain factor of her plan was the strength of the count.

She had done her best to overestimate the count as much as she could but still there was a possibility that she was still underestimating how strong as high level knight could be as she had no frame of reference.

Count Falgur was using a large axe as his weapon and just by looking at the axe, one could say that it definitely something special. This axe was not made from regular iron but some other kind of metal.

Weiss with her extremely good observation skills noticed more things. This axe was extremely good conductor of the the life force of a knight. So any technique executed through this axe would be stronger than normal.

The count targetted one of the legs of monster with his axe and used a special technique. Also unlike everyone else, his axe managed to go through the scales and reached the meat of the Earth Overturning Great monster.

So with this single well executed blow, Count Falgur managed to draw the first blood from the beast. And as soon as this wound opened up, two of the count's own knights came charging at the wound and pierced the same spot with a pair of daggers.

As soon as this happened, the Earth Overturning Great monster kicked with its injured leg and both of the knight's were sent flying. Several of their bones had definitely broken from this.

Still the count was satisfied as these knights had managed to accomplish the work that was given to them. Which was to plunge the poisonous dagger into the flesh of the Earth Overturning Great monster.

After this, suddenly the monster was having even more trouble with moving around. The count and the other knights took this opportunity to attack the Earth Overturning Great monster ferociously and injure it as much as they could.

As no one other than Count Falgur had managed to get past the scales of the beast, the other knights only attacked the area which were already wounded by the count and made sure that the wounds would not heal.

This way, the battle lasted for almost 2 hours repeating the same thing. During this time period four knights had gotten injured and one other knight had died.

So currently other than Count Falgur and the three mid level knights, only karl and a second low level knight was capable of properly fighting. And even among them, other than Count Falgur, everyone else was dead tired.

But the last two hours had not been a waste. There were hundreds of small and large cuts on the body of the Earth Overturning Great monster. And several of those cuts had daggers plunged in them which were definitely effecting the great Monster.

Currently it was moving so slow that it was incomparable to its previous speed. The power of its attacks had also lessened considerably. The current Earth Overturning Great monster was not much stronger than Count Falgur who was a high level knight.

This was exactly what the count wanted. He wanted to weaken the beast enough so that he could defeat it himself. This way, he will get not only the majority of the materials but also the fame of fighting and defeating a mighty Earth Overturning Great monster alone.

So while bursting with excitement, the count hold his artifact quality axe and got ready for a battle that could be considered to be a final showdown. But at this exact moment, the very weakened Earth Overturning Great monster let out another roar, no a loud cry.

This sound was different from all the sounds that this monster had made before. And as soon as they happened, Weiss had a very bad feeling.

Her perception was the strongest among all the people present here. So her intuition was also top notch. And as soon as Weiss heard this cry, her insticts started to warn her of the greatest danger of her life so far.

Immediately, without thinking about anything, Weiss got ready for a battle. She had been an observer for quite a bit but now it was time for her to risk her life in the battle.

The injured Earth Overturning Great monster was still alive and with her limited choice of weapons, Weiss would not be able to kill it in a short period of time even if she went all out.

So her current targets were the knights who were with Count Falgur and the mysterious and valuable items that the count had with him. Weiss was very interested in them.

While Weiss finally made her move, the ground started to shake again. And in almost no time, two other Earth Overturning Great monster appeared before the knights.

Not just that but both of these monsters were bigger than the first one. One was about 40 meters long while the other one was a giant who was over 50 meters in length.

This was definitely a crisis that could spell death for everyone here.
