Chapter 173 Ice Elemental [Part 3]
Xavier readied himself, but before he could dash forward, the elemental suddenly moved its hand, and the air in front of him shimmered, ice forming in front of him.
An ice clone of himself appeared, his own figure holding a frozen sword, just like Xavier [Frost Reflection] spell.
Xavier's eyes widened. "Tch… so that's how it is, while I was testing its strength, it was also testing my strength"
The clone rushed him instantly, slashing with the same style, the same speed as Xavier.
Each clash was like fighting his own reflection but he had done that multiple times, he had trained with his ice clone and there was one thing he noticed, it wasn't perfect.
The ice clone might have similar strength and attack power, but it's durability and spell is normal subpar, and Xavier wasn't always at full speed so there was no way the elemental could know how fast he truly is.
The elemental looked towards Xavier and laughed, its icy voice echoing through the chamber.
But Xavier's smirk never faded instead he was even more impressed, he had no idea the ice elemental could show emotions.
"Fine. Let's see who's the real one."
He gripped his sword tighter, his eyes laser focused, and rushed straight at his ice clone while the elemental loomed behind, and instead of watching it created two more ice clones.
Xavier's grin faded the moment the three clones rushed him.
Their icy blades swung from different angles, sharp and fast. He tightened his grip on his sword, his eyes glowing bright crimson.
The first blade came for his chest. Xavier twisted, infusing magic in his feet as he accelerated.
His body moved lighter, faster as he parried the first strike with a sharp clang and shoved the clone back.
The second one came from behind. Without turning, Xavier slashed backward, the clone's chest split open, spraying shards of ice. It stumbled, but didn't fall.
The third came from the side, aiming low. Xavier lifted his leg, kicking it off balance before striking down with his sword. The icy body cracked, but just like the elemental, it began to repair itself, ice pulling back together.
"Annoying," Xavier muttered, his tone colder now.
All three charged again at once. Their swords clashed against his, ringing across the frozen ground.
Xavier's arms moved in a blur, blocking every strike. He wasn't joking anymore. He was focused, deadly.
His eyes locked on the real ice elemental in the distance. She stood with her arms raised, gathering a blinding blue light above her head. The air turned sharp and cold, the spell forming into something huge.
Xavier knew he didn't have time to play around and Star was still watching, she wanted to assist him but couldn't since he told her not to.
With a sharp breath, he burst forward. Wind exploded under his boots, carrying him through the clones. His blade moved mercilessly, cutting without pause.
One swipe shattered the first clone's head, another split the second in half, and a third strike pierced through the chest of the last.
The ice tried to mend, but Xavier didn't let it. He cut them again and again, every strike faster, sharper, filled with enough force to split a rock. Shards flew everywhere, littering the ground with broken ice.
The clones finally collapsed into useless piles, unable to reform.
Xavier didn't stop as he activated his [Wind Stride]. His body blurred as he sprinted straight for the elemental. She was still preparing her massive spell, the glowing orb of ice above her head growing brighter, freezing the very air around it.
The elemental noticed Xavier and stretched one hand forward to stop his charge but it was far too slow.
"Too slow," Xavier growled.
He reached her in seconds. His sword slashed through both her arms first, slicing them clean off before she could release the spell. The glowing magic above her shattered into sparks as her arms fell to the ground, breaking into shards.
The elemental let out a shriek, her body glowing as it began to repair itself again.
Xavier didn't hesitate. His blade cut through her legs next, breaking them apart but she was still floating.
He dashed behind her and severed her head in one smooth motion, the icy face shattering into frozen fragments as it landed on the ground but it was still floating and trying to regenerate.
But Xavier wasn't finished.
He kept moving with Wind Stride, never stopping, never letting her body reform.
His sword blurred as he hacked the elemental's frozen body into smaller and smaller pieces. Each strike was clean, fast and merciless. Arms, legs, torso, all reduced into shattered chunks.
Even more Ice scattered across the battlefield, cracks glowing with blue light as the elemental's magic struggled to hold itself together.
Finally after slashing, her chest burst open. A glowing blue crystal pulsed at the center of the broken remains, the core that kept her alive, Xavier was careful not to cut into it.
Xavier's eyes narrowed. He reached out still in the air and grabbed the core with his bare hand. Cold bit into his skin instantly, freezing his fingers, but he clenched tighter as he yanked the core away from her body.
The elemental let out one last scream, her voice echoing like cracking ice as both of them fell towards the ground but Xavier kicked the air just before he reached the ground and landed safely.
While the elemental's body collapsed completely, shattering into a storm of frozen shards. The battlefield went quiet, only Xavier's steady breath filling the silence.
He stopped moving as he was on the ground ending his [Wind Stride]. His boots crunched against the frozen ground as he looked down at the glowing core in his palm.
The elemental which was once floating now laid on the ground shattering into pieces.
Xavier smirked faintly, his voice low, "I wonder what tier this elemental is, I'm sure it's not a king tier but also not on the same level as Star"
Xavier looked around as the ice surrounding the dungeon was starting to break away.
