Chapter 170 Ice Golem

Even without transforming into a dragon, Star's skin was already so hot that Xavier could see steam rising from her body.

Xavier wanted to fight the golem too but he would just be in the way of her flames, Xavier wanted to see how powerful he was compared to the golems here.

Star's eyes narrowed when the ice golems were getting closer. Their heavy footsteps echoed, each one shaking the icy ground beneath.

Mira held her breath, she had faced this before and she didn't win, after the first two she couldn't defeat the next one and had to run out of the dungeon for safety, luckily the golems didn't follow her.

Xavier looked at Star and knew she was about to change, he had seen her transform and each time it was amazing.

Star raised both her hands slowly. Her fingers curled, and then flames poured out of her palms like water spilling from a jar.

The fire wrapped around her arms, crawling up to her shoulders. She let the flames grow stronger, feeding them until her whole upper body was glowing bright.

She was literally on fire in front of them but the golems didn't stop. They marched forward, their eyes glowing blue, their sharp arms ready to strike, each of the golem was a little bit different from the other, some had large hands and some didn't have hand just weapons.

Star bent slightly forward, then opened her mouth. Flames burst out, shooting like a wave, pouring into both of her hands again until her entire body was finally covered.

The air around her trembled. With a low growl, her figure began to change.

Her back stretched, her body growing larger, her skin turning into scales as the fire wrapped tighter around her.

Wings burst out the next moment, long and sharp, spreading wide with a rush of heat. Horns curved up from her head, and her tail slammed against the frozen floor, leaving cracks behind.

In seconds, her human form was gone. The dragon stood in her place, tall and burning with power.

The golems finally reached close, but Star didn't wait. Her chest expanded, then flames exploded out of her mouth in a wide stream.

The fire swallowed the first line of ice golems, melting their frozen bodies and breaking through to their cores.

The cores glowed for a moment, then cracked, shattering into pieces causing the golems to fall apart into puddles of water and sharp ice shards.

More golems poured out of the icy walls, their heavy bodies forming again and again.

The sound of breaking ice filled the chamber as dozens began to move forward. But Star didn't stop.

She opened her mouth wider, fire rushing out in steady waves. She turned her head left, then right, burning everything in her path. The heat pushed back the cold, and steam formed in the air.

Still, the dungeon didn't give up. New golems kept coming and unlike the first time, it didn't look like they were going to stop.

Their shapes rose from the walls, their glowing blue eyes shining through the mist. The chamber shook with their numbers, at first there were just ten but now Xavier could count up to fifty.

Xavier narrowed his eyes as he watched.

Mira stood closer to him, her bod slightly shaking from the biting cold and Xavier grabbed her and drew her close till she was right in front of him then he infused Mana covering her entire body.

It wasn't stopping the cold but it reduced it by a lot, as the cold wasn't biting her skin anymore, if there were a lot closer to Star, they wouldn't feel the cold but currently she was enjoying the thrill of battle.

The dragon's tail whipped across the chamber, smashing seven golems into the walls. Her claws slammed down, melting through another one's head and crushing its core with ease.

Fire lit up her chest again, and she released another blast, melting ten at once, their glowing eyes fading as their bodies collapsed.

The ground was now covered in boiling water and broken shards of ice.

'I don't think this is working…the golems just keep multiplying. At this rate, they'll overrun the whole place' Xavier thought as he looked at the battle in front of him.

'I think so too' Star's voice suddenly echoed inside his head.

Xavier's eyes widened. "Wait! you can hear my thoughts? And reply?" he whispered.

'When I choose to, you should try going towards the exit, at this rate I'll be here forever'

"Mira, I don't think this is normal... I'll check the exit just in case" Roman said as he stepped away.

"How are you going to do that?" Mira asked and Xavier chuckled.

[Wind Stride]

Xavier jumped forward and just like that he began walking on the air to the surprise of Mira, she watched in shock as Xavier kept climbing higher, and once he was high enough to avoid Star, he began moving forward.

Xavier moved fast, his feet tapping lightly on the air as he ran forward with [Wind Stride].

Mira's wide eyes followed him as she was still surprised, it wasn't unusual for a beast to fly as long as it had feathers but humans don't fly.

Xavier didn't stop until he reached the massive archway at the far end and dropped down.

It looked like the exit. The only path forward. But the moment he got close, the ice around it cracked and spread.

Thick frost sealed the opening in seconds, like the dungeon itself was alive and refusing to let them go.

Xavier clenched his fist.

"Tch… I knew it wouldn't be that easy, then where the hell is the way" Xavier sneered as he turned around prepared to face the golems rushing towards him when suddenly all the golems stopped and broke apart.

Behind Mira, the ground shook and a loud sound followed.

*BOOM!!*

A deafening sound rolled across the chamber as Mira immediately moved away towards Star.

The ice floor split apart, and from it, something massive began rising.

A golem, but unlike the others, it was Massive. Almost five times the size of the rest, its body jagged with sharp ice crystals and once the body was fully formed, it let out a loud roar.
