42 – James 3:1-2
James 3:1-2
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
James wasn't going to complain about the class lineup change though. It was his plan bumping a few of the lesser 1A members that happened to be in his battle centre by interfering with their ability to score points and it worked out marvellously with two extra beauties in his class. Not only were they beautiful, but they were actually better in ability and potential to the ones he managed to bump out of the class too.
The girls were discussing their lives and hobbies getting to know each other, while some of the girls were also fishing for information about him from Himiko and Momo in hushed tones. He wasn't worried though.
It looked like there were only 2 people missing based off the amount of people that were there and the amount of desks in the classroom. He suspected it would be Izuku and Ochaco which meant that along with Sero Hanta and Ojiro Mashirao who he had personally interfered with Mineta Minoru was likely bumped out of class 1A indirectly due to the presence of him and Himiko who shouldn't have been in the class originally. Minoru was in last place in the class after all and his quirk was on the weaker side.
Minoru should be thankful though, because if he had been in the class it likely would have been a death sentence. He didn't like it when people touched his toys and Minoru seemed to not be able to help himself. If he was in class 1B rather than not being admitted to U.A. at all he still would be in danger though if he wasn't careful with his behaviour.
Katsuki put his feet up on his desk which immediately set off Ida just like James was expecting.
"Don't put your feet on the desk," Ida walked up to his desk facing Katsuki directly to admonish sternly.
"Huh?" Katsuki responded dismissively.
"Don't you think that's rude to the U.A. upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?" Ida continued.
Nope. What junior high school did you go to, you side character?" Katsuki mocked him.
I attended Somei Private Academy. My name is Tenya Ida," Ida responded not realising Katsuki wasn't actually interested and was just mocking him. Ida was a little too rigid and it held him back at times in the show when dealing with unstable factors like villains.
"Somei? So you're a damn elite, huh? Looks like I'll have fun crushing you," Katsuki sneered still refusing to take his leg off the table. He definitely didn't fit in as a hero trainee. If it wasn't for his stubborn dream of becoming a hero he would definitely fit right in amongst the villains. He was a prime example of people being influenced by their quirk his explosive quirk that turned his sweat into nitroglycerin giving him an equally explosive personality.
James had already determined his own quirk was affecting him too. Though he still had some of his personality traits from her previous life there were some serious changes to it over the year. He noticed, but that didn't mean he cared all that much. Which might be another change of the quirk. He was more laid back, more manipulative, definitely more of a philanderer.
All of this despite being a pretty regular guy in his previous life. He would like to think that his quirk had no effect on him and it was just that now with power, good looks and a near unlimited amount of wealth he was simply able to be his true self, but deep down he knew there was no way that those things could have made changes as big as he had noticed in himself. His life was so much better and more enjoyable than his previous one though so why would he complain? His previous life had been mundane, boring even. His current one was exciting, he was powerful, popular and could almost do whatever(and whoever) he wanted.
"Crushing? That's cruel. Do you truly aim to be a hero?" Ida responded indignantly, considering Katsuki's behaviour unacceptable for a hero.
Katsuki just snorted derisively in response.
The girls looked at both of the derisively. Neither of them was painting a great image for themselves. Katsuki was way too abrasive, but Ida swung too far in the other direction. Ida was the type of guy a girl settled with then cheated on while Bakugo was the type they might cheat with on a whim, but didn't pursue. Bakugo might have actually gotten some of the girls attention if it weren't for his presence in the class. Now he didn't stand a chance. When it came to badboys that stoked the fires of their passion Katsuki was a candle to his blaze. Katsuki could only pale in comparison.
Everyone finally noticed the timid Izuku who had been standing in the door opening watching their argument awkwardly for a while already.
"You're..." Ida was the first to address him.
Seeing that everyone's attention is suddenly on him Izuku starts to panic. "Oh um..." he starts
"Good morning. I am from Somei Private Academy. My name is..." Ida interrupted him approaching him quite forcefully which made Izuku even more nervous.
"I heard! I'm Midoriya. Nice to meet you, Ida," Izuku interrupted in return.
Some of the classmates that were part of the same battle centre Izuku had been in spoke in hushed murmurs about him destroying the 0-pointer. It even edged out his own notoriety as the first ranked on the exam a little. That's just the way he liked it though. He would gladly take Endeavors place as the rank 2 hero while Izuku could become the rank 1 catching the majority of the heat that brought along with it.
"Midoriya, you realised there was something more to that practical exam, didn't you?” Ida asked excitedly.
“I had no idea... I misjudged you! I hate to admit it, but you are better than me,” Ida continued oblivious to Izuku's feelings.
“Sorry. I actually didn't realise anything,” Izuku said in a low nervous tone.
Ochaco walked up behind Izuku without him noticing. “Oh, that curly hair! You're the plain-looking one! You passed, just like Present Mic said!” she said happy to see him in their class.
"Of course you did! Your punch was amazing! Break! Break! Break! Break! Bre—“ Ochaco continued swinging her fist as if to imitate his actions during the exam entirely unaware that her presence was breaking Izuku's brain.
“Oh, well, um, it was thanks to you going to speak with him directly that I, uh…” Izuku stammered nervously in response rubbing his head awkwardly.
“Huh? How did you know about that?” Ochaco asked curiously when he interrupted her.
“Oh, uh, that's because…” Izuku continued stammering along. He had a prime opportunity being her savior and just couldn't capitalise on it. James knew in canon she still fell for him, but it took seeing his determination after a long time and even then their relationship progressed at a snail's pace.
He did notice that Ochaco was the only one that didn't immediately focus on him, being more distracted by Izuku's presence. He considered whether he should put any energy into pursuing her. She was cute, but not ridiculously hot and he should probably give Izuku a bone if he wanted him to take most of the heat for him. Ochaco was only one girl after all and he had much more tempting targets to play with. A part of him wanted to rebel at this thought though as it felt everything should be his.
Katsuki was glaring at the duo like they pissed in his cereal.
“I wonder if today's just the entrance ceremony and orientation? I wonder what our teacher's like?” Ochaco said still excited.
“S-So close!” Izuku muttered blushing heavily. For someone who was supposed to be highly intelligent his brain stopped working the moment a cute girl got even a little close to him.
“Aren't you nervous?” Ochaco asked curiously.
“Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends.” They heard from behind them. They saw what looked like an oversized caterpillar with a human head. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a homeless looking person wearing a sleeping bag for some reason.
He had long shaggy black hair and unshaven stubble covering his face. Due to the bags under his eyes it looked like he hadn't slept in a long time.
“This is the hero course,” he said.
All three of them were stunned in shock probably wondering how a homeless person managed to break into U.A. despite its tight security.
“Okay, it took eight seconds before you were quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough,” the homeless person continued.
He stood up and took off the sleeping bag revealing an all black outfit and a grey scarf wrapped around his neck.
“I’m your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shota. Nice to meet you,” he finally introduced himself.
The entire class was surprised that it actually turned out to be their teacher. No one recognised him from his hero career.
“It's kind of sudden, but put this on and go out onto the field,” he continued while pulling out one of their P.E. uniforms.
