Love is Worth Waiting for

Chapter 24: First Date

Morgan was excited for the date. The day had passed painfully slowly as she waited for it. She hadn't really put much thought into her clothing because she only had a few sets that could withstand her flaw, instead she went over the plans.

Of course, they were going to meet at the restaurant, but she wanted to do more after that so she compiled a simple itinerary.

Morgan also prepared a gift. She was somewhat apologetic about destroying his clothes, so she bought him a tailored suit.

She looked at the time, and smiled slightly, placing what she had bought into a simple bag and getting up. They had agreed to meet at a restaurant in the waking world, so she simply pulled on her anchor.

Soon, she was standing a few hundred metres away from the establishment. She was a little early, so she decided to make her way to the reservation first.

Morgan turned a few heads as she walked, some from her reputation, but no doubt most from her beauty. Most people didn't really expect for a legendary saint to be walking on the street like an average person, so they didn't connect the dots.

She walked until she found a door with a bodyguard standing outside. He was merely awakened, but there were definitely masters inside.

Morgan walked to the door, and without a word she was let in. Restaurants that catered to people of higher status and saints were prepared beforehand for their arrival.

Instantly upon entering, she heard the sound of chatter and eating. It was polite and quiet, but at such a scale it was still noticeably loud.

After all, even among businesses that catered to those of high status, there were tiers. She was immediately recognised and guided silently by another awakened to her private booth, where she split the curtains and walked through.

The noise from the outside was muffled now, and she could only faintly hear it even with her enhanced capability as a saint.

The booth itself was comfortable, there was a semi-circular seat with padding surrounding a table. The table had silverware and glasses lined up for two people, with a bucket of ice set off to the side.

The bucket contained a bottle of high quality wine, that was specifically made by awakened so that masters and saints could get drunk.

She had known beforehand, but couldn't help but be impressed. Such a drink wasn't easy to get your hands on, though it wouldn't have too much of an effect on saints of her caliber.

She sat down and crossed her legs, patiently waiting for her husband to arrive. She was five minutes early, so she expected to wait a bit longer, but after only about two minutes, the curtains parted.

She looked up at the person that entered and smiled. 'I'm so lucky to have him.' The person, of course, was Sunny. He was in a relatively nice suit, but it paled in comparison to what she had bought for him.

Morgan didn't comment on it, she knew he had limited options with his facade as a harmless master, that's why she had bought him one after all. Instead, she simply complimented him, "You look good."

He smiled, "You're as beautiful as ever." He was appreciative but not infatuated by her looks. After all, why would he be enthralled by her with clothes when he had already seen her without them.

She could tell he genuinely meant it though, so a bright smile made its way onto her face. Sunny didn't seem to know what to do, so he simply sat down and made himself comfortable.

He looked back up at her and coughed awkwardly. "What are you even meant to do on a date anyway?" Morgan found him especially cute in that moment, and perhaps the flame of desire was visible in her eyes because he seemed to shrink back a bit.

She held herself back and responded. "We can just talk and enjoy each other's company." She smiled softly at him, "I have other things planned afterwards so don't worry."

Sunny seemed to relax a bit. She wasn't sure what he had expected, but he was definitely clueless as to the actual proceedings. Although she didn't mind it, she preferred the cute specimen in front of her.

Morgan sighed internally. 'I can already tell tonight's going to be hard.' Every time she saw Sunny, she was overcome with the urge to push him down. After all, he was the only person she could touch, and she desperately wanted to make good with that.

It didn't help that she was genuinely enthralled by his appearance and personality, she had to make a conscious effort not to let her burning need slip out onto her face. Though even with her efforts, she sometimes faltered.

Sunny looked around. "I've never been to a place as fancy as this before." Morgan smiled at him lovingly.

"If you want, I can take you out more often." Sunny pondered for a bit but then shook his head.

"I think I'd prefer something less formal, I don't think my cooking loses to much anyway." He was obviously quite proud of his culinary ability.

"I don't think I've had anything except for your waffles." She didn't have much of a baseline to work off of, so she didn't say anything about the taste of his food.

Sunny looked shocked, but then looked to think about it for a second solemnly. "You're right…" He turned to her and flashed a grin. "Don't worry, I'll show you how good my cooking is."

Morgan chuckled. She had a feeling she was going to enjoy his food more than the stuff served at this restaurant, even if it didn't necessarily taste better. "Next time, you'll have to make something for me."

Sunny nodded, accepting the challenge with flames in his eyes. "You won't be disappointed."

Morgan studied his features before sighing and holding her head in her hands. 'I can't… He's just too cute.'
