Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 458: Harvest (Part 2)

The reason they went to the serial killer's camp was that they suspected the killer had imprisoned other victims and ended up ambushed by a female gunman, forcing them to retaliate for their own safety.

They had carefully studied this story and thought through some details, even going so far as to find a spot where they had discovered treasure.

Additionally, they had a treasure map, and their purpose for coming to Red Rock Canyon was to hunt for treasure, so obtaining it was a logical outcome.

With the two serial killers dead, and no testimony to refute, the treasure was dug up by them.

Given their identities, no one would insist on questioning this matter.

After arranging everything, they left Red Rock Canyon, with Walker driving the RV and Luke driving the pickup truck.

On their way, they passed by the place where the black woman had been killed.

Luke got out to take photos of the scene and then placed the black woman's body into the pickup truck, also to prevent it from being eaten by wild animals.

This also showed that Red Rock Canyon was indeed a good place for murder and robbery. There was no need to bury the bodies; wild animals would take care of them. Even if the police received a missing report later, they would only find some remaining bones, making it impossible to determine the exact cause of death.

After handling the situation, Luke drove out of Red Rock Canyon on a sidecar motorcycle, while Walker drove the RV.

Luke's phone got a signal, and he contacted Anthony, the deputy supervisor of the FBI's Los Angeles office.

The FBI's Los Angeles office is one of the larger offices in the American West, overseeing not only Los Angeles but also most of the western region.

The FBI's New York office is one of the larger offices set in the American East, mainly responsible for cases in the East, but it's not as convenient as Anthony's side.

Luke explained the situation and sent over the photos of the two serial killers.

The FBI quickly identified the two suspects as those wanted for murder cases, with Marlon Bax's bounty reaching eighty thousand US Dollars, and the AK-47 female gunman's bounty at fifty thousand US Dollars.

These two committed crimes in multiple cities, committing many robbery and murder cases with extremely brutal methods, mainly torturing their victims. Multiple local police forces and the FBI were hunting them.

Anthony contacted the personnel from the FBI Colorado office, instructing them to go to the scene immediately, while he also took a flight to Red Rock Canyon to handle the case.

Luke and Walker arrived at a rest area near Red Rock Canyon, which was more lively than their last visit, with quite a few vehicles parked.

The two went into the restaurant directly and chose a window seat where they could see the RV.

Luke still ordered a burrito and fries, along with a Coke.

Choosing a burrito in this kind of restaurant is a safer decision.

Halfway through their meal, a Mexican man wearing a cowboy hat came in. It was the canyon ranger, Carlos.

Walker was in good spirits and greeted him, "Hey, buddy, like I said last time, let's have a drink when we meet again. Do you have time?"

Carlos walked over, "Thanks for the offer, but not today. By the way, is that sidecar motorcycle outside yours?"

Luke replied, "I rode it here, but it's not ours. It's a friend's from the canyon; he went missing last night, so I brought it back.

You're here just in time, can you help us with it?"

Carlos sighed, "This issue is a bit complex, your friend may never be able to ride that sidecar motorcycle again."

"What happened to him?"

Carlos asked back, "Did you hear gunshots last night?"

"Yes," Luke responded, then asked, "What do you think of the gunshots last night?"

"Because of the gunshots, I specifically entered the canyon to check this morning and encountered an old white man whose hands were chopped off, it was tragic.

But fortunately, he survived, my colleague sent him to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Additionally, I learned from him that he had a sidecar motorcycle, which is probably the one outside."

Walker sighed, "What an unlucky guy. Hope his arms can be reattached."

"I'm afraid it's hard; his right hand is gone and was likely taken by a coyote. As for the left hand, no one can guarantee it can be reattached," Carlos shook his head slightly and looked at Luke and Walker,

"I suggest you leave Red Rock Canyon; it's not safe here recently."

Luke asked, "Who attacked him?"

Carlos sat down next to them and said, "He said it was a perverted man, wearing a hood. He didn't see his face clearly; the weapon was a machete."

"I remember, when we first came to Red Rock Canyon, you advised us to leave, was it because of this serial killer?"

Carlos shrugged, "Hard to say, recently there have been cases of missing tourists.

But the canyon is full of dangers of all kinds, and I'm not sure if it was his doing.

However, this time we've found a survivor, and I've already called the police." Carlos glanced at his watch, "I guess they'll be arriving soon."

"Woo woo..."

At that moment, several cars with flashing lights pulled into the rest area.
