Chapter 337 Newcomer_3
When I found out you were heading to Cruise Manor, I intercepted you halfway. I was very clear at the time, I wasn't harming you, I was helping you.
I gave you money and told you to leave.
But you broke our agreement and took another route to Cruise Manor.
You were discovered by other security staff, and they wouldn't be as polite as me.
You were bound to get beaten up.
That's why I intercepted you.
I was protecting you, but you let me down.
You owe me an apology."
"I... Even so, they had no right to beat me up."
"That's a matter between you and them, it has nothing to do with me. You can take your revenge on him."
"That bastard didn't just beat me up, he also took the five hundred US dollars you gave me."
Luke showed a look of surprise, "He took your five hundred dollars?"
"Don't you know?"
"I'm not familiar with him, that was the money I gave to you, why would he take it?" Luke's face showed dissatisfaction.
Lawrence Miller added fuel to the fire, "He also called you an idiot, saying you weren't giving me the money, but just handing it over to him for nothing.
And he threatened me not to tell you about it."
Luke snorted, "This bastard dares to take my money, now it is my business."
Lawrence Miller said with resignation, "It was to keep the money you gave that I got beaten up by him."
"Sorry, I had no idea about this.
I have some cash here..." Luke felt a bit guilty as he took out his wallet and rummaged through it, "I just went to buy alcohol, and spent all the money, only forty dollars left."
Seeing Luke take out his wallet, Lawrence Miller was quite pleased, but his face fell again when he saw the empty wallet, "What kind of damn expensive alcohol is that?"
"It's this bottle of whiskey. I spent over four hundred dollars buying two bottles, it's definitely the best whiskey."
Lawrence Miller swallowed, "Two hundred and something dollars for a bottle of whiskey?"
"Do you want to try it?"
"Why not?"
Luke pointed to the plastic round table in the yard, "Come on, the moon is nice tonight, let's have a drink in the yard." Luke slapped Daisy's car, "Go get a couple of glasses and some snacks."
Daisy then got out of the car, exchanged a glance with Luke, and walked straight into the villa.
Whether persuaded by Luke's words or attracted by the whiskey, Lawrence Miller's attitude towards Luke eased and he complained, "See, she doesn't take me, her father, seriously at all."
Luke lowered his voice, "You'll get used to it, women are like that."
Luke opened the whiskey bottle, and Daisy came over with two glasses and a bag of peanuts and placed them on the table before turning to leave.
Luke poured two glasses of whiskey and handed one to Lawrence Miller, "Cheers."
Lawrence Miller picked up the glass and sniffed it, looking delighted, and downed it in one gulp.
Luke took a sip and ate a peanut.
Lawrence Miller also grabbed a peanut and tossed it into his mouth, 'crunch crunch'. After a few chews, he complained, "Too hard."
Luke poured him another glass of whiskey, joking, "Clearly, these snacks were meant just for me."
At that, Lawrence Miller snorted and took a big gulp from his glass.
The two chatted while they drank.
Lawrence Miller had been drinking before he came to Daisy's house, and now his drunkenness was even more apparent, "Luke, you are a good man.
The five hundred dollars you gave was important to me, but that bastard took it.
It really upsets me."
Luke advised, "Don't worry too much about it, it's just five hundred dollars after all."
"It might not mean much to you, but it's important to me, I really needed those five hundred dollars." Lawrence Miller pursed his lips and looked at Luke,
"Could you lend me some more money?"
"I don't have cash on me right now, maybe next time."
"I'll take that as a yes."
Luke smiled and said nothing.
"Here's a toast to you." Lawrence Miller raised his glass again and took another sip, adding to his inebriation.
In less than half an hour, the two had finished a bottle of whiskey, most of which was consumed by Lawrence Miller.
Luke stood up, "The whiskey is finished, and the party is over, I'm going to sleep."
"Gurgle..." Lawrence Miller belched, patting his forehead, "Good whiskey, haven't had such good stuff in a long time. Don't you have another bottle? Bring it out, quick."
"We can't drink anymore, I have to work tomorrow." Luke said and headed straight to Daisy's house.
Lawrence Miller yawned, "I'm a bit sleepy too, can I stay here?"
"No, we have other plans." Luke chuckled and went inside the house.
"Fuck!
I hope you drop dead on some woman's belly someday." Lawrence Miller, swaying, got into his black Honda car and drove onto the community road.
Luke stood by the window looking out.
Daisy also came over and said, "He's gone."
"Yes, he drank quite a bit, it's very unsafe for him to drive like that."
"And you deliberately plied him with drinks?"
"Was it that obvious?"
"But it worked well, it got rid of him at least." Daisy finished and frowned slightly, "What if he comes back tomorrow?"
"You're worried about him coming back to cause trouble, but not that him driving drunk is dangerous?" Luke countered.
"I'm not worried at all." Daisy looked at Luke, "Does that make me cold-blooded?"
"Would you do the same to me?"
Daisy smiled, "If one day you're no longer useful, can't get it up anymore, who knows?"
"Then I can rest easy because that day will never come." Luke took out a spare phone and dialed 911, "Hello, I'd like to report a crime."
The operator asked, "Sir, what happened?"
"I saw a dangerously driven car near the Flying Bar. It was swerving like crazy, almost hit me.
If you don't stop him soon, he might end up in the sky."
"Sir, did you see the license plate number?"
"No."
"Did you get a clear look at the driver?"
"No, just know it was a black Honda car..."
