Lord: Sequence Master

Chapter 255: Arcanist Felun and the Dragon God Battlefield

Rosen flipped through the Ancient God Sequence inheritance and indeed found the technique for creating Flesh Clones.

He didn't have much desire for clones in the past since his Self-Portrait Clone had already proven more than sufficient.

Clones could easily lead to problems if not managed well. The Self-Portrait Clone, which functioned like multi-tasking across multiple instances, was a safer choice. Some clones, however, could rebel and take over the original consciousness. Furthermore, nurturing clones was no easy task. Once his Divine Incarnation was strong enough, there was no need to deliberately master clone techniques.

But now, seeing the Ancient God Sequence's version of Flesh Clones, he realized it had a completely different purpose.

Instead of creating consciousness clones, it only created physical ones. These body clones could then be disguised and gifted to others. Imagine an exceptionally talented intelligent being finally ascending to godhood, only to discover that their own body had been stolen. The thought of such a god's despair was hard to fathom.

"Toiling year after year to weave gold threads, only to sew a wedding gown for someone else…"

Rosen could hardly wait to master the Flesh Clone technique. He fantasized about replacing the bodies of all Sequence 4 upper-tier dragons in the Dragon Realm with clones of his own flesh. These upper-tier dragons would then unwittingly help him refine his Ancient God Physique, leaving him free to focus solely on cultivating his spirituality.

He now felt grateful that he had used the semi-divine bones from the Myriad God Mountain Seas to paint spiritual portraits. If he had extracted their extraordinary bloodlines and injected them into his citizens, any of those citizens who managed to become Sequence 3 would have immediately had their bodies seized and controlled by the Great True God of the Myriad God Mountain Seas.

Rosen transformed into Felun's bronze dragon form and spread his wings, flying toward Dragon Island.

Now that Felun had ascended to Sequence 3 and possessed both a Dragon Nest and time-related Authority, staying in the outer seas would yield diminishing returns. The outer seas were simply too vast; without a specific target, it was exceedingly difficult to stumble upon valuable dragon graves.

Additionally, he no longer had any Sequence 1 miraculous treasure maps. Recently, he had been preoccupied with elevating his innate and acquired fortunes to the level of a True God.

Ever since he discovered the treasures left behind by a True God he hunted, Rosen had been doing everything he could to enhance his innate fortune. Every miraculous treasure map he had was part of his earlier inventory.

Achieving True God-level innate fortune was extraordinarily difficult, even with the assistance of the Miracle Ember.

Rosen had encountered many powerful individuals, but he had yet to see anyone with innate fortune at the level of a True God. Such fortune represented the foundation of innate talent, signifying a predestined path to godhood.

But even taboo-level demigods couldn't guarantee they would ascend to True Godhood.

Therefore, reaching True God-level innate fortune was even harder than awakening the Ancient God Physique or mastering Ancient God Divinity.

Rosen flew across the endless ocean, heading back toward Dragon Island. Even with accelerated time flight, the journey took two years.

It wasn't that there weren't faster ways to travel, but Rosen spent the time gradually integrating himself into the Arcane Weave.

The Arcane Weave, one of the five great networks of the Main World, was accessible to all arcane-class professions, even those of other species.

In fact, since spirituality became the core of transcendence, nearly 90% of Sequences could be classified as arcane-class professions.

However, gaining access to the Arcane Weave didn't guarantee the ability to harness its power.

The Arcane Weave stored the magical knowledge of nearly every era. Moreover, arcane practitioners could upload their spells and skills to the Arcane Weave, allowing others to cast them even if they hadn't mastered those skills themselves.

In an age where potion-based Sequences severely limited skill slots, the Arcane Weave provided a perfect solution to the issue of arcane-class professions running out of skills.

Still, not all arcane practitioners could use the Arcane Weave to cast spells.

To do so, one needed to be recognized by the Arcane Weave as an Arcanist, a practitioner who adhered to the current era's spellcasting system.

Before spirituality became the dominant factor in transcendence, the earliest arcane professions had centered around mana.

Later, the Arcanist class emerged, capable of maximizing mana's power through knowledge. The essence of knowledge was understanding rules and laws, and Arcanists held a natural advantage in this area. During the peak of the Arcane Empire, they had reached the height of a Sixth Cataclysm Civilization.

However, when spirituality became the mainstream, mana nearly vanished from the era.

Ironically, Arcanists grew even more powerful during this shift. Yet, as more True Gods emerged, Arcanists found themselves limited to mastering rules, unable to touch the domain of laws. Thus, they could never again reach their former glory.

Even a starving camel is bigger than a horse; the Arcanist Sequence remains the most dominant magic-based Sequence to this day.

After spirituality became the core of transcendence, the compatibility of the Arcanist Sequence increased exponentially.

Dragon magic, the specialty of the dragon race, is now one of the most popular spell systems on the Arcane Weave.

The current Arcanist Sequence places emphasis on knowledge above all else.

All it requires is for practitioners to upload their knowledge to the Arcane Weave. That knowledge becomes nourishment for the network, and in return, the Arcane Weave grants corresponding levels in the Arcanist Sequence, allowing users to cast spells through its power.

Over the years Rosen had spent crossing the vast seas, he had elevated Felun's Arcanist Sequence to Sequence 3.

[Felun Kartis: Bronze Dragon]

[Profession: Sequence 3 Dragon, Sequence 3 Arcanist]

[Divinity Strength: 74]

[Divine Authorities: Time Authority, Arcane Authority]

[Dragon Nest: Historical Dragon Lair]

[Skills: Arcane Spell Ring, Time Affinity, Time Control, Temporal Dragon Breath, Time Prison, Temporal Anchor…]

As Rosen studied the Arcane Spell Ring skill, he couldn't help but find it somewhat peculiar.

The Arcanist Sequence, from beginning to end, only had this one skill: Arcane Spell Ring.

Each Sequence level granted four Arcane Spell Rings. A Sequence 3 Arcanist had a total of 28 rings.

Of these, seven were innate while the other 21 were acquired later.

The innate Arcane Spell Rings could carry the user's mastered knowledge and form exclusive arcane spells. The remaining rings could also house knowledge, either the user's own or downloaded from the Arcane Weave, but they would generate slightly weaker ordinary arcane spells.

For the same skill, an exclusive arcane spell was at least twice as powerful as an ordinary one, with the maximum difference being as high as tenfold.

Previously, Rosen could log into the Arcane Weave but lacked the Arcane Spell Rings to download skills.

Now that he had transferred Felun's spiritual essence to become part of the Arcanist Sequence, he finally realized just how terrifyingly powerful the Arcane Weave was.

The Arcane Weave contained a force that might already be approaching the level of a Great True God.

And yet, among the five great networks, the Arcane Weave was commonly ranked fourth.

Clearly, the other networks held even deeper secrets.

The Mainframe God Computer could only log into these networks; it was far from fully mastering them. Even the Mainframe God Network, which it appeared to control completely, likely had hidden depths yet to be revealed.

Near the eastern coastline of Dragon Island stood the Sea Dragon City. The eastern coastal region and the surrounding waters belonged to aquatic dragon clans such as sea dragons and water dragons.

Rosen, now in human form, landed outside Sea Dragon City. The city lord immediately rushed out to greet him with reverence.

Although the city lord was a Sequence 3 Dragonblood Warrior, he wasn't a pureblood dragon but a sea sharkkin dragonspawn.

So, when faced with the arrival of a high-ranking dragon, the city lord chose to submit immediately. As long as the demands weren't too excessive, he would endure them. Only when the situation became unbearable would he call on the backing of the sea dragon clan—though doing so would inevitably lower the sea dragons' opinion of him.

"Honorable one, is there anything I can do to assist you?" the city lord asked respectfully as he followed behind Rosen.

"I need a batch of purebloods for conversion, and I also need a teleportation array to the Dragon God Battlefield," Rosen stated bluntly.

"The purebloods we raise in Sea Dragon City are all low-to-mid-tier aquatic species. Do you have any specific preferences?" the city lord asked cautiously, secretly relieved.

"Where can I find high-tier aquatic species nearby?" Rosen frowned.

"My father keeps some in his dragon nest," the city lord replied nervously.

"Contact your father. Tell him I want a batch of pureblood naga," Rosen commanded with unquestionable authority.

"I'll do it immediately," the city lord said, not daring to refuse.

Rosen temporarily stayed in Sea Dragon City. Half a day later, he sensed a wave of dragon might emanating from outside the city.

Transforming into his bronze dragon form in an instant, he soared into the sky.

Outside the city, a Sequence 2 sea dragon stood atop a massive, seemingly frozen tidal wave, gazing at him from afar. The sea dragon then turned and rode the wave away from Sea Dragon City, retreating into the distance.

Rosen's surroundings were instantly accelerated by time. In the blink of an eye, he had crossed dozens of miles, appearing right behind the sea dragon.

A Sequence 7 Arcane Spell Ring activated at his side, immediately forming a massive halo woven from countless spiritual runes. This was Ice Age, a Sequence 3 draconic magic spell he had downloaded from the Arcane Weave. Within the halo, an illusory dragon's head materialized and unleashed a terrifying breath of frost.

In just a few breaths, everything within a thousand miles—apart from Sea Dragon City—was frozen solid, including the ocean itself.

The sea dragon stared at Rosen with a mix of shock and fury. He had never expected this to be an upper-ranked dragon who had transferred to the Arcanist Sequence.

Although the dragon race produced many arcanists, not every dragon could become one.

The key to becoming an arcanist lay in the knowledge one possessed. If the knowledge was already part of the Arcane Weave's vast repository, then mastering it made it difficult to transfer into the Arcanist Sequence. Even if one painstakingly accumulated enough to transfer over, they would still likely be capped at Sequence 4.

Only those who mastered knowledge unknown to the Arcane Weave itself had the chance to ascend to Sequence 3.

If this fight continued, the sea dragon knew it would likely result in mutual destruction, even against this Sequence 3 arcanist.

Reluctantly, the sea dragon lowered his head and released 10,000 pure-blood nagas from his dragon lair.

Rosen summoned his Historical Dragon Lair and collected all the pure-blood nagas before spreading his wings and flying toward Sea Dragon City to use its teleportation array.

In the dragon realm, pure-blood dragons were forbidden from killing one another. Only the dragon kings were authorized to execute their kin.

However, the dragon realm embraced the principle of survival of the fittest.

The dragons of this realm generally fell into two categories.

The first type established cities, raised pure-blooded creatures of various races, and either converted them into thralls or bred dragonspawn with them. They then relied on their control over their dragonspawn and thralls to develop faith, ultimately becoming dragon lords.

The second type of dragon chose the path of conquest and plunder.

When they ran out of thralls, they would demand more from the dragon lords. Of course, the dragon lords rarely complied willingly. Winning meant obtaining a fresh batch of pure-blooded creatures, while losing often meant not only being denied further requests but also being seriously injured—or worse—by the dragon lord.

This competitive dynamic forced the dragons of the realm into an endless cycle of internal competition.

Over the years, though no new dragon gods had emerged, the lower and middle tiers of dragon strength had gradually recovered. This recovery led to the frequent initiation of Dragon God Battlefields—a brutal internal war for the redistribution of territories among the dragons.

When the teleportation was complete, Rosen found himself at Dragon God Mountain, the site of the Dragon God Battlefield.

Dragon God Mountain spanned a diameter of three million miles and rose two million miles high. Its massive body was riddled with countless dragon lairs, among which thousands emanated terrifying dragon might. These were the lairs of dragons preparing to showcase their power in the Dragon God Battlefield.

After teleporting to the foot of the mountain, Rosen ascended into the air and casually chose a clean dragon lair to settle into.

The dragon realm was vast, and while pure-blooded dragons were few in number, dragonspawn and thralls were countless.

Though it was challenging for dragons to produce pure-blooded offspring, they faced no reproductive barriers with most other species. In fact, they could dramatically increase their fertility rates by breeding with these other species, effortlessly producing dragonspawn imbued with dragon bloodlines. Additionally, pure-blooded creatures of other races could be directly corrupted by dragon blood and transformed into thralls.

Thus, the dragons never lacked servants. No matter how vast the dragon realm, it could always be further developed and controlled through their dragonspawn and thralls.

But there was a problem. Having too many dragonspawn and thralls wasn't entirely a good thing.

It strained resources and, if their numbers surpassed the rate at which the dragon realm could replenish its resources, it could lead to the realm's gradual decline.

This was why the Dragon God Battlefield had come into existence.

One-third of the dragon realm's territory was designated as ancestral lands for the different dragon species. These lands were never contested.

The remaining two-thirds, however, were up for grabs, with control determined by rankings in the Dragon God Battlefield.

All pure-blooded dragons were allowed to send their dragonspawn and thralls into this meat grinder.

Those who survived were the elite. Those who perished not only reduced the strain on resources but also had their flesh, souls, and spiritual energy converted into nourishment for the battlefield, which in turn generated highly valuable resources and treasures for the dragons.

The decision to open the Dragon God Battlefield was directly tied to the population of dragonspawn and thralls in the realm.

If their numbers exceeded the red line, the battlefield would be opened to restore ecological balance.

Over the past two millennia, the frequency of the battlefield's activation had increased dramatically.

This was evidence of the dragons growing stronger, gradually shedding their state of weakness.

However, unless the number of dragon gods at the True God level multiplied several times over, the dragons' return to their former glory remained a distant dream.

Within the Historical Dragon Lair, Rosen created an expanse of sea.

His Ancient God Heart Aperture stored an immense reserve of ancient god blood. Transforming it into bronze dragon blood suitable for Felun was an effortless task, especially with the Dragon Blood Chalice at his disposal. Before long, the expanse of water had become a sea of blood.

Over 10,000 pure-blood nagas writhed in agony within the sea, struggling as if drowning and teetering on the brink of death.

Rosen forcibly corrupted the pure-blood nagas into dragon-blood thralls, achieving a success rate of approximately fifty percent.

However, he was unwilling to lose half of the pure-blood nagas in the process. Thus, he manifested a Golden Apple Tree, allowing its golden apples to fall into the blood sea and dissolve within. Additionally, he implanted Seven Deadly Sin Demon Seeds into each naga.

With this dual-layered assistance, all of the pure-blood nagas were successfully transformed into thralls of Felun.

While these pure-blood nagas were not inherently extraordinary, as high-ranking sea creatures, transitioning to Sequence 9 and growing to Sequence 7 was relatively simple. Now, infused with massive amounts of bronze dragon blood as well as the Seven Deadly Sin Demon Seeds, their growth to Sequence 4 was merely a matter of time.

But Rosen couldn't wait, so he decided to forcibly accelerate their progress.

He took 10,000 Sequence 4 metal slimes, fusing each with Sequence 4 armor-type extraordinary items. These slimes inherited the armors' attributes and then latched onto the dragon-blood nagas as living suits of armor.

Additionally, 60,000 Sequence 5 metal slimes were fused with weapon-type extraordinary items to become the weapons of the 10,000 dragon-blood nagas.

Each naga wielded six weapons with their six arms, meaning the combined combat strength of the dragon-blood nagas—equipped with 60,000 living extraordinary items—was unimaginable.

Finally, Rosen didn't forget to further enhance the dragon-blood nagas themselves. With the support of the gluttony seeds, unlimited extraordinary resources, and extremely high levels of time acceleration, their growth progressed at an astonishing pace.

In just a few short years, Rosen successfully nurtured 10,000 Sequence 6 dragon-blood nagas.

All of them had transitioned into the Draconic Language Mage profession, and their overall combat strength was on par with most Sequence 4 entities.

If not for the imminent start of a new Dragon God Battlefield, Rosen would have pushed their levels directly to Sequence 4.

At the summit of Dragon God Mountain stood the Dragon Blood Divine Tree, an existence at the True God level.

According to legend, the Dragon Blood Divine Tree was the origin of the dragon race. The divine fruits it bore, known as Dragon Blood Sacred Fruits, could strengthen the bloodlines of pure-blooded dragons or evolve dragonspawn into pure-blood dragon entities.

The primary purpose of the Dragon God Battlefield was to provide nourishment for this divine tree.

However, the Dragon Blood Sacred Fruits were reserved exclusively for True God-level dragons.

The first-place finisher of each Dragon God Battlefield earned the right to consume one sacred fruit.

The Dragon Blood Divine Tree wasn't very large, standing only about a hundred meters tall.

Yet its roots extended deep into Dragon God Mountain, spreading across a 5-million-mile radius below the mountain and into the Dragon God Battlefield.

More and more pure-blooded dragons arrived at the summit, each one approaching the Dragon Blood Divine Tree to pluck a leaf.

Rosen also picked a leaf and carefully examined it. The leaf felt as smooth as a child's skin, and the red liquid flowing through its internal veins was the purest dragon blood. Unfortunately, while the leaf could be held, it couldn't be consumed.

By noon, all pure-blooded dragons participating in the Dragon God Battlefield had arrived.

The Dragon God Battlefield below the mountain was shrouded in a dense blood mist. As the sun reached its zenith, the blood mist dissipated, and the pure-blooded dragons began to place their dragon lairs in various locations.

Each dragon then crushed the Dragon Blood Divine Tree leaf in their hands into powder and fed it to their thralls and dragonspawn within their lairs.

All the thralls and dragonspawn who consumed the powder were instantly transported into the Dragon God Battlefield through their respective lairs.

At the start, every thrall and dragonspawn fought independently.

Hunting dragon beasts released into the battlefield by the dragons allowed them to obtain food to replenish their energy.

Killing other thralls and dragonspawn enabled them to absorb the remnants of the Dragon Blood Divine Tree leaves within their victims.

If a thrall managed to absorb enough remnants to form a complete leaf, it could evolve into a dragonspawn. Similarly, a dragonspawn could further purify its bloodline.

Historically, there had been instances of dragonspawn participating in multiple Dragon God Battlefields and eventually evolving into pure-blooded dragons through sheer effort.

Some pure-blooded dragons hovered in the air, overlooking the chaotic carnage in the Dragon God Battlefield below.

Others returned to their dragon lairs for a nap, while a few got busy producing more dragonspawn.

Rosen wasn't worried about his dragon-blood nagas securing good results.

In the early stages of the battlefield, thralls and dragonspawn typically fought independently. It wasn't until the mid-to-late stages—when the blood mist around the battlefield's periphery began to rise and gradually contract toward Dragon God Mountain—that teams would reform as the battlefield shrank.

However, his dragon-blood nagas were different. The demonic seeds implanted in them allowed them to sense one another.

Once they successfully grouped up, their metallic slime-based defensive capabilities made surviving until the final stages almost a certainty.
