Lord: Sequence Master

Chapter 254: Bronze Dragon Felun and the Historical Dragon Nest

In the Yunmeng Paradise, Rosen placed the Wolf Totem onto a Sequence 1 Auspicious Cloud.

The Auspicious Cloud could merge with items containing rules, and after careful consideration, he decided to integrate the Wolf Totem into it.

As the two gradually fused, the Auspicious Cloud began assimilating all of the Wolf Totem's powers.

[Miraculous Auspicious Cloud: Extraordinary Artifact]

[Level: Sequence 1]

[Attributes: Enhances all movement and stealth-related skill effects to Sequence 1 level]

[Symbiotic Artifact: Wolf Totem]

[Symbiotic Traits: Riding the Clouds, Devour, Eternal and Indestructible]

Originally, the Wolf Totem could only enhance stealth effects. Now, the Miraculous Auspicious Cloud also amplified movement skills, enabling Sequence 4 users to achieve Sequence 1 mobility speed—an ability that could have a monumental impact during battles.

With a mere thought, the Miraculous Auspicious Cloud transformed into a white cloud, one zhang in diameter, under Rosen's feet.

The Auspicious Cloud could continually expand or contract, shrinking to merge into his Void Boots or enlarging to a diameter of 7,800 meters—exactly one hundred times his spiritual intensity. The most remarkable aspect was that standing on the Miraculous Auspicious Cloud required virtually no energy consumption.

Satisfied, Rosen put away the Miraculous Auspicious Cloud and prepared for his journey to the Dragon Realm.

This time, he planned to establish a base in the Dragon Realm, develop a territory in the real world there, and upgrade and enhance his skills like the Ashen Armor Breaker and three trap-related abilities. By the time he returned to the human world, he would undoubtedly have reached Sequence 3 as a Domain Lord.

Activating Data Transmission, Rosen disappeared from the human world and arrived in a dragon lair within the Dragon Realm.

Dragons with means always went to great lengths to construct dragon nests.

Those who weren't doing well could only settle for basic lairs.

A dragon nest was essentially a miniature world unique to dragons, whereas a dragon lair was merely a hole dug into the real world.

Felun Kartis, a Sequence 4 Bronze Dragon, belonged to the upper-class dragon species.

All Bronze Dragons naturally possessed time authority and, at a minimum, could ascend to titled demigod status. Upon reaching adulthood, each Bronze Dragon would typically be gifted the resources to build their own dragon nest.

However, Felun had been denied this privilege. Instead, he was expelled from the Bronze Dragon clan and left to fend for himself.

The reason was simple: Felun had failed to inherit the time divine authority passed down through his bloodline.

Even as an adult, he remained stuck at Sequence 4, unable to ascend to demigodhood.

If that were all, Felun might have merely been relegated to a lower status.

However, in his desperation to become a demigod, Felun went so far as to steal dragon crystals from the Bronze Dragon clan's sacred dragon tomb. Unfortunately, he was caught before he even entered the tomb. If not for the fact that his parents had sacrificed their lives for the Bronze Dragon clan, Felun wouldn't have been exiled—he would have been executed.

Since losing the clan's protection, Felun had been forced to hide and wander cautiously.

An unprotected Bronze Dragon was a tempting target for many other dragons.

When Rosen arrived at Felun's lair, the Bronze Dragon was soundly sleeping in a corner.

Rosen released his Gluttony Beast, which lunged forward and swallowed Felun in a single gulp.

Once Felun's dragon body was completely digested in the Stomach of Gluttony, Rosen easily adjusted his genetic makeup to transform his own body into Felun's. Meanwhile, his spiritual essence parasitized Felun's spiritual essence through his Acting skill.

Both spiritually and physically, Rosen had now perfectly replaced Felun.

During this process, Rosen also learned why Felun had failed to awaken his time divine authority.

The reason was simple: Felun's bloodline talents were too potent.

His spiritual intensity was insufficient to control the overwhelming natural time divine authority within his bloodline. Only upon reaching demigodhood could Felun's talents fully manifest.

This is the downside of being an orphan, Rosen thought.

Had any other Bronze Dragon cared to pay attention to Felun, they would have easily discovered his latent extraordinary talents. However, this couldn't entirely be blamed on the Bronze Dragon clan, as most dragon species—aside from a few exceptions—lacked unity.

Rosen transformed into his human form and stepped out of the dragon lair, looking up at the sun above.

The Dragon Realm was a world born for dragons, featuring an environment as diverse as the myriad dragons it housed.

Unlike the main world's sun, which was a celestial star, the Dragon Realm's sun was the canopy of the Solar Tree. The tree's crown emitted sunlight during the day and ceased at night, marking the passage of time.

The Solar Tree stood at the very center of the Dragon Realm, its roots planted on Dragon Island.

Despite its name, Dragon Island was anything but small.

In fact, it was a landmass a hundred times larger than the Dragon God Continent.

The surrounding sea was dotted with countless smaller islands, which were true islands in the conventional sense. As for why Dragon Island called itself an "island," it was because, in comparison to the entire main world, it was relatively modest.

Felun's dragon lair was situated on an uninhabited island devoid of sentient life.

Rosen wasn't planning to return to Dragon Island immediately, as he had uncovered many legends while organizing the history of dragonkind. These legends, some true and some false, were difficult for others to distinguish, but for him, it wasn't much of a challenge.

Ordinary dragon tombs were formed when a dragon modified its dragon nest before death. Tombs of the same dragon species were usually clustered together.

Dragon tombs weren't just places of rest; they also served the purpose of allowing dragons to live a second life. At its core, life is spiritual essence. When a dragon reaches the end of its natural lifespan, it uses a secret draconic technique to burn its bloodline origin and regress into a dragon egg.

During this process, the dragon's soul and spiritual consciousness collapse, scattering within the tomb to nourish the egg. Gradually, the spiritual essence that had run out of vitality may reform into a new dragon soul within the egg. Even if the revival fails, the dragon soul can absorb the lifeless spiritual essence, converting its vitality into death energy, eventually becoming a ghost dragon.

However, unless they have no other options, dragons rarely choose to transform into ghost dragons after death. After all, ghost dragons are weak and hold a very low status within dragon society.

While there were normal dragons, there were also abnormal ones. If Felun were to build a dragon nest in the future, he certainly wouldn't return to the Bronze Dragon homeland to humiliate himself. Instead, he would seek a hidden location outside of Dragon Island to establish his dragon tomb.

Rosen was searching for these types of dragon tombs; otherwise, how could he explain Felun's rise to power?

This search lasted several years, during which Rosen located over a dozen dragon tombs. However, the results were underwhelming because all of these tombs belonged to Sequence 3 dragons.

This was expected, as most dragons who chose to establish tombs overseas were those who couldn't survive on Dragon Island. They were either expelled due to poor talent or banished after committing grave offenses and having some of their power stripped.

But exceptions always existed. Rosen knew of a Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon buried offshore.

By rights, a Sequence 1 dragon would belong to the highest echelon in the Dragon Realm. The Bronze Dragon clan wouldn't allow such a tomb to remain outside their homeland. However, this particular dragon had lost the competition for the position of Dragon King. The winner, who lacked magnanimity and had used some dishonorable means to secure the throne, secretly plotted against this dragon after becoming Dragon King, ultimately forcing them to flee Dragon Island.

Rosen arrived at a new sea region and took out a miraculous treasure map created from the innate fortune of Sequence 1.

According to his knowledge, that Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon had last appeared in this vicinity. He divided the surrounding area into sections for a thorough search. The Bronze Dragon clan had searched these waters before but found nothing, so Rosen wasn't entirely confident about discovering the tomb.

As the miraculous treasure map began to change in his hands, Rosen immediately knew he had found it.

Even if it wasn't the Bronze Dragon's tomb, it had to belong to another Sequence 1 dragon. After all, the miraculous treasure map wouldn't simply lead him to some Sequence 1 extraordinary material. So far, it had never disappointed him—either he found nothing, or the results exceeded his expectations.

Following the map's guidance, Rosen quickly arrived at a submerged island.

The island was a volcanic formation that had likely once been above water but sank into the sea after a volcanic collapse.

Signs of destruction were evident on the island, suggesting that dragons had visited it before, failed to find anything, and vented their frustration before leaving.

The moment Rosen landed on the island, the miraculous treasure map in his hands vanished.

In the next instant, a hazy white mist enveloped the island.

"Time Mist…" Rosen murmured as he stepped into the fog.

The surrounding seawater instantly disappeared.

As he ventured deeper into the mist, he soon emerged on the other side.

The island was no longer underwater but had reappeared on the sea's surface. The entire island was shrouded in Time Mist, and at its center lay a Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon. The dragon, still breathing and with a beating heart, clutched a dragon nest in its claws.

Rosen didn't sense any draconic soul emanating its characteristic pressure, indicating that this was merely a living husk.

However, just as he prepared to approach, the Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon opened its eyes.

With a slight movement of its claw, a piece of parchment floated out from the dragon nest.

Rosen watched as the parchment hovered mid-air. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a deep abyssal contract capable of restricting deities.

The contract stipulated the hunt of descendants of the Bronze Dragon King Nazriel Arias. Whoever signed the contract would gain the dragon nest and, for each descendant killed, control over the Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon, which had been modified into a dragon puppet.

If all the descendants of the Bronze Dragon King Nazriel were killed, the mysterious treasure sealed within the dragon nest could be obtained. There was no need to worry about the value of the mysterious treasure because the contract guaranteed fairness in the transaction.

"This really is a significant treasure..." Rosen murmured as he decisively signed the contract.

The reason was simple: completing this task was far too easy—Nazriel had no descendants.

Having used underhanded methods to ascend to the throne of Bronze Dragon King, Nazriel had even secretly murdered his former rivals after becoming king. Although he carried out these actions covertly, his disgrace was eventually exposed by other ambitious Bronze Dragons vying for the throne.

As a result, Nazriel reigned as the Bronze Dragon King for less than a millennium before being slaughtered along with his entire lineage by the contemporary Bronze Dragon King.

Thus, upon signing the contract, all three stages of the task were instantly completed.

Once the contract confirmed its activation, Rosen verified through its spiritual origin structure that he had fulfilled the requirements without any deception. The contract then split into three parts: two portions were absorbed into the dragon nest, while the final portion merged into the dragon puppet, causing the awakened Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon puppet, which had been preparing for combat, to return to a dormant state.

Rosen stored the dragon puppet in his miraculous pouch, though he was currently unable to refine and claim ownership of it.

The dragon nest was no different in that respect, but the treasures stored within it could be accessed.

This was the lifetime accumulation of a Sequence 1 dragon, containing mountains of divine crystals and godforce crystals, rows of chests brimming with extraordinary artifacts, and, deep within the dragon nest's treasury, two intact treasures that Rosen carefully retrieved.

Though there were many treasures in the depths of the treasury, most of them were damaged.

It seemed likely that the most precious artifacts had been ruined during the fierce battles for the throne and Nazriel's eventual escape.

Rosen picked up a mirror, an extraordinary Sequence 1 artifact called the Mirror of Temporal Dreams.

It was a "mirror" in the literal sense, not related to "dreams."

The Mirror of Temporal Dreams could generate a time-distorting mist, banishing targets within its range into the past. This function was somewhat similar to the miraculous trait of the Time Magnet. Additionally, the mirror could forcibly pull any lifeform reflected within it into the time mist.

The reason this dragon nest had remained hidden until now was due to the protection of the Mirror of Temporal Dreams.

Rosen stored the mirror and turned his attention to the mysterious treasure mentioned in the contract.

It was a blueprint for an extraordinary building—and it was a miraculous treasure.

[Miracle Dragon Nest: Miraculous Treasure]

[Level: Sequence 3]

[Miraculous Attribute: Transforms a regular dragon nest into a Miracle Dragon Nest]

[Miraculous Traits: Unknown, Unique Under Heaven, Eternal and Indestructible]

This was Rosen's first time encountering such a miraculous treasure.

The unknown miraculous trait would likely only emerge after the transformation of a regular dragon nest into a Miracle Dragon Nest.

As for why this treasure had never been used, it was probably because its Sequence 3 level was too low.

Even if Nazriel had obtained a Miracle Dragon Nest, it wouldn't have been enough to change the outcome of his dire circumstances.

Having consumed Felun, Rosen had also inherited all of Felun's bloodline memories.

From the Sequence 1 dragon nest, he selected a large number of materials required for constructing a dragon nest. Then, through the Main God's Hall, he traded for a massive quantity of extraordinary time-related materials before beginning the construction of the dragon nest according to the inherited knowledge.

The core of any dragon nest was the dragon crystal. For his construction, Rosen used the dragon crystal of his divine incarnation.

Several months later, suspended within a constant flow of time breath exhaled by Rosen was a hollow bronze sphere about the size of a soccer ball.

This was a Bronze Dragon's dragon nest. It not only protected the dragon crystal and dragon soul but also provided a safe space for the dragon to slumber. Without such protection, the dragons' habitual deep sleep would make them vulnerable to ambush.

Felun, for instance, had lacked a dragon nest and had to sleep in a mere lair, which allowed Rosen to easily approach and devour him.

Rosen placed the Miracle Dragon Nest onto the bronze sphere, and the two began to merge into a single entity.

[Historical Dragon Nest: Miraculous Building]

[Level: Sequence 3]

[Miraculous Attribute: The Historical Dragon Nest can linger within history to harvest divine energies of the past]

[Miraculous Traits: Temporal Nest, World-Unique, Eternal and Indestructible]

Rosen toyed with the Historical Dragon Nest in his hand, admiring the intricate carvings of nine Bronze Dragons adorning its hollow, bronze surface.

Rosen disappeared from where he stood, entering the interior of the Historical Dragon Nest.

The internal space wasn't particularly large, spanning only about a thousand miles in radius.

The miraculous property of the Historical Dragon Nest was similar to the Time Magnet—it could remain within historical timelines of the past. However, the Historical Dragon Nest went a step further by drawing divine energy from history itself. This historical divinity was produced in such abundance that it allowed the Dragon Nest to generate extraordinary resources with time and history attributes.

Rosen attempted to activate the Temporal Nest, and soon, a cave suffused with the Authority of Time appeared nearby.

This cave connected to the future—not in the sense of traversing time directly, but by providing absolute safety for time-bound hibernation. Anyone inside the Temporal Nest would enter a deep, secure slumber, re-emerging only when real-world time had caught up with the future.

This ability was a lifesaving measure. By hiding in the Temporal Nest, one could potentially outlive even a Great True God. Sleeping for tens of millions of years could ensure that, by the time one emerged, all enemies were long dead.

Rosen couldn't help but wonder if the Mysterious Study Room possessed a similar function. How else could he have woken up in this unknown era, countless millennia later?

As Rosen continued to study, he discovered other applications of the Temporal Nest.

If used on himself, it could shield him from danger. If used against an enemy, it could banish the foe to the future.

Faced with an unbeatable opponent in the present, one could simply cast the enemy into the Temporal Nest. Then, after a few centuries or millennia of growth, the now-powerful individual could easily crush the adversary, who had remained stagnant in the Temporal Nest.

Rosen exited the Historical Dragon Nest and brought it to the Yunmeng Grotto-Heaven.

In the Yunmeng Grotto-Heaven, his power was amplified to Sequence 0 by the Yunmeng Law. Using this strength, he clasped his hands together and forcefully compressed the Historical Dragon Nest until it shattered into fragments, completely destroyed. At the same time, the divine incarnation relinquished its refinement of the Historical Dragon Nest.

Rosen gathered the fragments and retrieved a massive quantity of time-attributed divine crystals.

The fragments absorbed the divine crystals, beginning a process of self-repair thanks to their miraculous trait of Eternal Indestructibility.

A few days later, the Historical Dragon Nest was fully restored, as good as new.

Rosen immediately took control of Felun's spiritually parasitized spiritual essence, refining the now-ownerless Historical Dragon Nest.

By the time the refinement was complete, the Historical Dragon Nest had become Felun's Dragon Nest.

When Rosen no longer needed the Felun persona, he could destroy the Historical Dragon Nest again and have his divine incarnation re-refine it. His choice to use the divine incarnation's dragon crystal in constructing the nest was primarily to ensure the resulting Dragon Nest possessed the power of the Historical Sequence.

Although Rosen couldn't yet ascend to Sequence 3, that didn't prevent him from helping Felun achieve it.

Returning to Dragon Island at Sequence 4 would have been an invitation to humiliation.

Under Rosen's intensive investment, Felun's spiritual strength quickly reached the Sequence 4 cap of 72 points.

Finally, Rosen retrieved a potion crafted from Momella Stone and directly poured it into Felun's dragon soul. This triggered Felun's spiritual essence to begin its transformation toward Sequence 3. As for the physical transformation, it directly affected the body Rosen had reshaped using the Ancient God Physique.

Felun's spiritual essence entered a months-long slumber, eventually evolving into divine essence.

The dragon crystal underwent its own transformation, and Felun's draconic body grew significantly larger.

Through this process, Rosen made an intriguing discovery: his Ancient God Physique might have even greater potential for advancement.

All he needed was to extract a Sequence 4 spiritual essence. By integrating this essence into his Ancient God Physique, the genetic structure of his bloodline would perfectly mimic that of the Sequence 4 body. If this spiritual essence were then placed back into his body, the Sequence 4 entity might not even realize its physical form had been replaced.

The Sequence 4 could then continue cultivating and refining its body, indirectly strengthening Rosen's Ancient God Physique.

Rosen pondered this realization, This might truly be a shortcut to unimaginable power.

If he mastered the techniques of flesh-and-blood cloning, he could capture a large number of dragons, destroy their original bodies, and covertly replace them with his own. These dragons, believing they were refining their own draconic bodies, would actually be enhancing Rosen's Ancient God Physique.

Suddenly, a thought struck him—a possibility about the true nature of the demigod bones in the Myriad God Mountain Seas.

Could it be that all the demigod bones were actually flesh-and-blood clones of a Great True God?

Perhaps the Great True God had destroyed the real bodies of its demigod followers, replacing them with parts of its own flesh-and-blood. This way, the countless demigods were unknowingly aiding the Great True God in tempering its own body.

This also explained why such great effort was expended to maintain the freshness of those bones—they were, after all, part of the Great True God itself.
