Lord Evolution: Starting With Overpowered Sacrifice System

Chapter 66: Legendary grade skills

At the moment, the previous chaotic battlefield had settled with the death of the last troublesome goblins.

Noah had already left for the Hamlet with the injured men, and only Ragnar remained on the battlefield, standing in the midst of the slain goblin necromancers.

A scroll was in his grasp that he quickly tore.

|| Skill scroll has been activated ||

|| Skill: Corpse Animation has been obtained. ||

|| Revealing full description. ||

Corpse Animation (Lvl 1)

—Category: Active» Magic

—Description: Not only are you Lord over the living, you also possess the ability to control the dead.

—Effects: Consumes 20 M.P per activation, revives and controls nearby corpses (MAX. 5) for 10 minutes.

—Cooldown: 5 Minutes

—Upgrade requirements: Skill Upgrade card

"A necromancy skill!" Ragnar's eyes shot up with interest as he gazed at the description of the skill.

He never expected that after killing the goblin necromancers, they would drop a skill scroll. And while activating the skill scroll, he never expected it would be his first magic skill. Simply thinking of himself using the necromancy skill made him happy—and he did not waste any time before activating the skill.

"Corpse Animation!" he declared in a bold tone.

At that moment, the five goblin necromancer corpses he had slain a few minutes ago were suddenly shrouded in a pale crimson glow. The corpses began to visibly vibrate.

After about three seconds, the corpses' eyes fluttered open, glowing crimson, and with an unnatural jolt, they stood up and faced Ragnar.

A smile was plastered on Ragnar's face as he observed his new undead soldiers. He then commanded them to perform certain tasks like jumping, running, kneeling, attacking, defending, and other simple but effective commands. The undead goblins did as they were told.

Even when Ragnar ordered one of them to twist its own neck, it did it immediately.

"This is a great skill!" Ragnar admitted as he canceled the skill.

"With this skill, I do not even need to risk the lives of my people to participate in war. I can just slay a sufficient number of foes and turn them into undead soldiers," he smirked.

"Onyx, repeat that notification I asked you to ignore."

|| Does host want to use wheel tickets now? ||

"Definitely."

Following his agreement, a new and bigger holographic window appeared—it was the biggest he had seen so far.

The holographic window featured a massive wheel with many segments. Each segment featured blurred words that Ragnar could not decipher.

At the bottom left of the holographic window, a simple [Tickets: 3] was displayed.

"Use one ticket," he commanded.

|| Ticket used... Activating wheel.. ||

The massive wheel began to spin at a swift pace, and after a few seconds, it stopped.

|| Level 14 ----> Level 15 ||

"Wow," Ragnar exclaimed. "My first reward is a whopping two thousand XP!"

"Come on, Onyx, use another ticket."

|| Host has to wait for 9mins, 43secs to use wheel again. ||

"Ahh," Ragnar's mood dampened. "I forgot there was a cooldown time."

He heaved a sigh. He observed the results of the battlefield once more.

At that moment, Noah arrived.

"You have taken care of the goblin necromancers by yourself!" Noah was pretty surprised.

Based on how troublesome the goblin necromancers were, he was expecting they would have to take them down together. He never expected Ragnar to deal with it alone.

"Yeah, they are not that strong without their undead soldiers. They didn't pose that much trouble, to be honest," Ragnar responded with a smile. "Anyways, how are the three of them doing?"

"They are holding on strongly. Merlina and the others are already taking care of them. They asked me to wish you good luck. But it seems the luck had already shown itself," Noah said.

Both of them chuckled.

Ragnar then asked his friend for assistance as they harvested all the monster cores from the slain goblins.

With their swiftness, it took them a total of more than half an hour to completely harvest the corpses.

They ended up with a total of 97 monster cores, only three short of one hundred. Ragnar brought out the other monster cores he had saved up, bringing the total to 173 monster cores.

A small heap of monster cores was on the ground. The two youths stared at them with varying reactions—one with wonder and one with pride.

"We should sacrifice these," Ragnar said.

He could already tell that these would surpass all the sacrifices they had offered so far. He could not wait to see just what kind of rewards they would trigger—new skills, skill upgrade cards, random reward cards, or maybe another magic spell. Ragnar's mind was hyper-active at that moment.

Without wasting time, he began his usual act as he instructed his virtual assistant to begin the sacrifice process.

The monster cores disappeared, triggering a new series of notifications, one that Ragnar observed with curious eyes.

X5 Mid-grade strength boosting potion

X3 Mid-grade mana enhancing potion

X3 Magic-gem

X3 Skill Upgrade card

X2 Legendary-grade skill scroll

X500 canned food

For a few seconds, Ragnar was in a dazed state. The sheer numbers of rewards displayed, their grades, and even the hundreds of canned food supplied were enough to make him enter a dazed state.

Ragnar quickly turned to his friend, who was staring at him with eyes filled with confusion and curiosity, especially due to Ragnar's abrupt change of expression.

Before he could even ask, plenty of items appeared out of thin air and fell on the ground.

Noah's eyes widened.

"T-those s-swords.... Hundreds of canned food... P-potions," Noah reacted, his voice shaken by the amount of rewards on the ground.

Except for the skill upgrade card, mana enhancing potion, and magic-gem, Ragnar allowed Onyx to reveal everything, hence the reaction of his friend.

Noah picked up one of the swords. In his grasp, he could already tell just how superior these blades were to his former sword. He could feel the power brimming within the sword.

Noah's eyes then fell on the two pairs of black boots on the ground that glimmered with the moon's crescent glow. The boots were made of leather, but with a simple glance, one could tell they were not ordinary. There was even a small lightning design on the sole of the boot.

He turned up to look at Ragnar, and their gazes met.

"These boots..." he pointed at them. "They are not ordinary, are they?"

Ragnar shook his head. He was currently studying the description of the boots as well. They were indeed extraordinary.

|| Uncommon-grade Agile boots: Top quality footwear. Once equipped, it boosts the overall agility of its wearer by 50% ||

"They can increase our speed," Ragnar answered.

"For real? Can I try them on?" Noah inquired, and Ragnar nodded.

Noah dropped the sword carefully on the ground and rushed to grab a pair of the agile boots and wore them. The boots were very easy to wear, and they fit perfectly on his leg.

Once he had finished wearing them, Noah felt lighter than he had ever been. It was as though he was a feather floating with the tranquil wind.

Curious to see just how much it improved his movement speed, Noah sprinted towards the woods.

His body zipped past Ragnar, billowing dust in its wake. Noah covered the distance in a small amount of time and arrived back at the same spot.

Once he arrived, his eyes widened as he stared at Ragnar.

"T-this..." Noah could not even explain the feeling. He grabbed the sword and began experimenting with fighting at such speed.

While Noah was busy checking them out, Ragnar began to check the descriptions of the new items in his possession.

|| Mid-grade Mana enhancing potion: Permanently Increase Total MP by 100 ||

|| Mid-grade Healing Potion: Instantly restores 40 HP and gradually restores 4 HP every minute until HP is completely restored. ||

|| Mid-grade strength boosting potion: Instantly Boost Physique and Agility by 50% for twenty minutes. ||

Then his eyes landed on the two legendary grade skill scrolls. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes.
