Chapter 734: A Mess
Qin Yi's mind was in chaos, unable to discern whether he was experiencing an illusion array or reality.
Damn that Array Emperor Ning Tian, that bastard, the formations here are definitely his twisted creations.
"Brother Qin, what's wrong with you?" Mo Wuji, despite being injured himself, was still concerned about Qin Yi.
Qin Yi squinted slightly, concealing the fierce light in his eyes.
The scene of Mo Wuji and Bai Jingqing killing Xiaobing and her companions was vivid in his mind. Although he now knew he had been tricked and everything was fake, could it still be a premonition?
"Mo Wuji, where did we meet?"
Mo Wuji was stunned, "Brother Qin, you haven't lost your memory, have you?"
"Answer my question."
"Yinfeng City, I came looking for you, Brother Qin." Mo Wuji could tell something was off about Qin Yi.
"I went with you to the Mo Family. There were two words hanging on the wall in your room that I misread at the time. What did they say?"
Mo Wuji said solemnly, "You mistakenly read the word 'frankness' as 'hussy'. Brother Qin, what's wrong with you?"
Bai Jingqing and the others exchanged strange looks. Mistaking 'frankness' for 'hussy' was truly bizarre.
Qin Yi's gaze flickered slightly, but in the next second, he suddenly disappeared from where he stood and lunged at Mo Wuji.
Mo Wuji was startled and tried to resist, but Qin Yi raised his hand, purple light rolling, directly suppressing him. Mo Wuji was horrified; his cultivation was suppressed at his Qi Sea and he couldn't mobilize a shred of it.
Immediately afterward, Qin Yi's hand gripped Mo Wuji's neck, his five fingers tightening.
"Qin Yi, what are you doing?" Bai Jingqing exclaimed.
Qin Yi said indifferently, "You're all fake. Don't think you can deceive me."
"Are you crazy? What's real or fake?" Bai Jingqing shouted anxiously, Qin Yi's fingers tightening, Mo Wuji's neck bones cracking, almost being crushed to death.
Qin Yi turned to look at Bai Jingqing, grinning hideously, "Don't worry, you're next."
"Brother Qin, why is this happening?" Mo Wuji said with difficulty, his eyes filled with deep confusion.
Qin Yi sneered, "Pretending again. You're all conjured by the illusion array."
Mo Wuji shook his head desperately.
"Qin Yi, what's wrong? What illusion array? Release Mo Wuji first. We can talk it over; he's about to be strangled to death by you." Bai Jingqing shouted anxiously.
Qin Yi was also skeptical inside because holding onto Mo Wuji's neck, the warm and real touch made him wonder if everything now was real.
"Say something only the two of us know, that no one else does?" Qin Yi asked while looking at Mo Wuji.
"Tiger... Tiger Roar Mountain, Qin Ankang." Mo Wuji's forehead, neck, and temples were all bulging with veins, almost being strangled to death, and he spoke with difficulty.
Qin Yi was slightly startled, as this was something only he and Mo Wuji knew.
"Are you really Mo Wuji?"
Mo Wuji nodded desperately.
Qin Yi pondered for a moment, then slowly released his grip, Mo Wuji collapsing onto the sand, gasping for fresh air.
"Qin Yi, what is wrong with you?" Bai Jingqing asked with a frown.
"You also say something only we know."
Bai Jingqing was slightly taken aback, then angrily said, "You stole the gemstone I found behind the Village Chief's house in the stream."
"Uh..." Qin Yi was embarrassed; that too was indeed something only the two of them knew, this woman certainly held grudges.
"Brother Qin, what on earth happened? Why do you doubt the two of us are fake?" Mo Wuji's breathing steadied, and he asked suspiciously.
Qin Yi sighed and said solemnly, "I've experienced many bizarre things before; do you remember the lake that could petrify people?"
Mo Wuji nodded.
"After killing Nancheng Fei and Mo Tianhao, when you were healing, I returned to that lake and was sucked into it by an irresistible force, then I encountered all sorts of strange occurrences."
"Do you know where I woke up?"
Mo Wuji asked curiously, "Where?"
"I returned to my home in Yinfeng City."
Mo Wuji's expression was surprised, "It seems Brother Qin entered an illusion array and got tricked."
"And then?"
"Then you appeared."
"Me?" Mo Wuji was astonished.
Qin Yi said, "Not only you, but also Little White Fairy."
"The scariest part was that the two of you together killed all my family, my wife, the unborn child in her womb, my sister... it all felt so real."
Mo Wuji's mouth hung open.
Bai Jingqing was also in shock.
Qin Yi looked at Mo Wuji, then at Bai Jingqing with a cold gaze, "Is it a sign?"
Mo Wuji suddenly smiled bitterly.
"Why are you smiling?" Qin Yi asked.
Mo Wuji said, "I'm afraid Brother Qin doesn't know if the us in front of you are real or fake."
"Of course, I know; otherwise, why would I release you?"
"No, you don't know. You released me because of your confidence; I already sensed that Brother Qin has the capability to kill me in seconds. You didn't kill me because you haven't decided if you want to kill us yet."
Qin Yi squinted his eyes slightly.
"Brother Qin, don't look at me like that. I guess you ventured into an illusion array, and everything within the array comes from the mind."
"What do you mean?" Qin Yi asked.
Mo Wuji said, "What I mean is, Brother Qin, you experienced such things because you've never truly trusted me."
Qin Yi felt a slight shudder inside; Mo Wuji was indeed intelligent. To be honest, he inherently despised members of those hidden families, including Mo Wuji and Bai Jingqing, whose trust he never gained.
Could it be that all of this arises from the heart? Because he never trusted Mo Wuji and Bai Jingqing, the illusion array created such scenes?
Mo Wuji smiled somewhat bitterly and said, "Brother Qin didn't kill me because you have some trust in me. I guess it's because we told you that you were unconscious for three days. In those three days, we could have killed you many times, but we didn't. It was because of that that you spared my life."
Qin Yi's eyes narrowed slightly, "Mo Wuji, smart people generally don't live long."
He even suspected that Mo Wuji had the ability to read minds, for what he described was precisely what he was thinking.
"I was merely speaking the truth. Brother Qin, in reality, you're the only person in this world whom I truly admire, whether for your wisdom or cultivation. I don't want to hide anything in front of you. Initially, when I went to Yinfeng City to find you, I indeed wanted to use you. But now, after everything we've been through, whether you believe it or not, I truly consider you a friend."
"I understand why Brother Qin is wary of me. Your dislike for me stems entirely from the fact I am one of the Five Great Families. You fundamentally despise them."
"I know any words now are redundant. But I'd like to ask Brother Qin to give me some time to prove that I'm not your enemy."
