Limitless Evolution: I’m The New Dragon God?

Chapter 144: The Battle Of Great Plains

Nimo was the first to break the silence, his deep voice cutting through the heavy air. "Now I see why Luthor was defeated. With such power… it's no wonder he could not stand against you. But power this great is not without consequences."

Mikael adjusted the grip on his sword hilt, his sharp gaze narrowing on Ryuzen and Venus. "Dragons are not simply weapons. They are forces of nature. If you two lose control, it won't be just enemies who fall. Even allies will burn."

Aurora, still unable to hide the lingering awe in her eyes, leaned forward slightly. "But imagine what this means. The Blood Legion was already feared across continents. With two dragons among our ranks, the balance of power itself could shift. Every empire, every dominion, will turn their eyes to us."

Lugh exhaled slowly, arms crossed. His voice carried a rare weight of seriousness. "It is not a question of strength anymore… It is whether the Blood Legion can survive the storm that will come once this truth spreads."

Dama's usually cold expression softened into something thoughtful. "Perhaps… the Legion is fated to change. We were once a band of soldiers. Then we became a symbol of rebellion. Now, with these two, we may become legends or devils in the eyes of the world."

Noah let out a half-laugh, though his tone was anything but mocking. "Legends or devils, huh? Either way, it looks like we're stepping onto a stage none of us asked for." He glanced at Ryuzen and Venus, his grin fading. "You two just turned Blood Legion into the kind of force history books won't be able to ignore."

Nimo's gaze, calm but unshakable, locked onto the young pair. "Ryuzen. Venus. From this moment on, you no longer fight only for yourselves. You carry the weight of every soldier who calls themselves Blood Legion. If you falter, the Legion will collapse under the weight of your power."

The other commanders nodded in agreement, their faces stern yet strangely proud.

Aurora's voice softened. "That is why we asked you to return to your human forms. To remind you—and us—that you are still people first, not monsters."

The hall remained tense, but Noah suddenly leaned forward, eyes sharp with calculation.

"Ryuzen," his voice carried authority that demanded a straight answer, "with power like yours, there is one question we cannot ignore. Can you establish contact with the Dragon Realm? If the Blood Legion could forge an alliance with them, we would command a force no Lord could stand against."

The other commanders turned their attention instantly to Ryuzen. The hall grew quiet again, but this silence was heavier than awe—it was expectation.

Ryuzen's golden eyes flickered for a moment before dimming with a hint of sorrow. He shook his head firmly. "I cannot."

Mikael's brows knitted. "What do you mean?"

"I was sent here as an egg," Ryuzen admitted, his tone steady but laced with the uncertainty of his past. "I don't know who sent me. I don't know why. I have no ties to the Dragon Realm… nor any way to reach it. My birthright is a question even to me."

The words hung in the air like a blade over the room.

Aurora's lips parted in disbelief. "So you… truly don't know?"

Ryuzen gave a short nod. "Not even a fragment."

For the first time, disappointment clouded the faces of the commanders. Dama exhaled sharply, lowering her gaze. "The higher-ups of the Horizon Alliance gave us one clear directive. Secure a bridge to the Dragon Realm. With dragons as allies, the war's end could be rewritten."

Lugh's jaw tightened, his hand resting on the hilt of his weapon. "And yet we stand here with two dragons, unable to fulfill that order…"

Nimo broke the silence with his calm baritone. "It cannot be helped. Destiny does not always move in the direction men desire. But orders or not, we must march. The Legion will not wait for answers that may never come."

Mikael finally nodded, resolve hardening in his eyes. "Then so be it. Horizon's command is beyond our reach for now. What we can do is march forward and win battles with the strength we do have."

Noah leaned back, disappointment still etched into his features, but he masked it with a sharp grin. "Hah. Guess we'll have to shake the world with our own blood and steel, then. No dragons from beyond, just the two standing before us."

The commanders rose from their seats, their cloaks sweeping the floor like banners of war.

Aurora lifted her hand, signaling the decision made. "Enough. The Blood Legion marches at dawn. Our destination is the Great Plains of Runburm. Whatever the hollows throw at us, we will answer with fire and fury."

Outside, the restless soldiers stirred as word spread like wildfire. Twin dragons had been revealed in the Legion's midst, and now the march to Runburm would begin.

It was slightly confusing. But the did what they had to do. They obeyed. Even if they die in the upcoming battle, they wouldn't stop.

The horns of departure thundered across the Blood Legion's fortress, echoing like a beast's roar. Soldiers, clad in crimson armor, poured into formation, their boots striking the ground in unison. Above them, colossal airships lined the sky, steel giants armed with cannon arrays and runic engines that pulsed with light. The insignia of the Horizon Alliance gleamed proudly on their hulls, visible even from the ground below.

The twin dragons, now in human form, stood at the forefront of the assembled legion. Ryuzen's gaze swept the countless troops, his golden eyes reflecting their fiery determination, while Venus, calm yet regal, carried an aura that steadied even the most trembling hands.

"Board!" Noah's voice cut through the air like a blade.

One by one, millions of soldiers streamed into the towering airships. The engines roared to life, shaking the heavens as the fleet ascended. The ground shrank beneath them until only mountains and rivers stretched like veins in the land.

From the highest deck, Irina looked out upon the endless armada. "Truly… the march of gods," she whispered, awed by the scale.

Hours later, as the fleet soared above the vast continent, a chill wind cut through the air. Lugh stepped forward, pointing beyond the horizon. "There."

The battlefield revealed itself.
