Leveling Up with 99,999 Points: I Tame Every Magical Beast

Chapter 93 – Central Guild II

As he entered, Crowne was immediately stared at by several adventurers. They looked at him from head to toe repeatedly and whispered to each other afterward. Of course, they were evaluating how strong Crowne was. He was new there. Judging the strength of newcomers was already a common thing among adventurers.

The room was very spacious. It could hold dozens, even a hundred adventurers. There were even three reception desks inside.

Crowne arrived in front of one of the reception desks. The guard who escorted him stepped forward first.

"Is Mister Ruth here?" He pointed toward Crowne. "Someone from Stromhall City's guild wants to meet him."

"He is here, but he is currently having a meeting with Mister Orion from Moonlight City. It seems they are discussing important matters. He might have to wait," the female receptionist replied.

The receptionist frowned when she saw Crowne, who looked completely ordinary. Not muscular at all, his body smooth, almost without scars, and his face handsome like a noble's son. That was not the face of a high rank adventurer.

"If you want to wait, please sit over there," the receptionist added while pointing at the seats beside the reception desk.

The guard who escorted Crowne turned to him. He lifted both his shoulders. "Looks like I can only take you this far." He patted Crowne's shoulder and leaned his face closer. "If someone bothers you, just ignore them. This place is kind of... annoying."

After saying that, he immediately left. He waved his hand, opened the door, and was gone. Crowne simply watched.

After that, he walked toward the table the receptionist pointed at. He sat there. He would wait until he was called.

"I really did not expect the central guild to be this big."

Crowne looked around.

The central guild felt completely different compared to guilds in other cities. The walls were made of beautifully carved wood, on the ceiling hung glowing crystal lamps, and several large statues of humans were carved with great detail.

Rows of mission boards covered almost the entire left wall all the way to the right. Dozens of new mission papers were posted every few minutes by the staff. Adventurers crowded in front of them, some arguing, some laughing loudly, and some fighting over high value missions.

Crowne observed everything while leaning back casually. He could only be amazed. "This place... truly feels like a different world," he muttered.

While Crowne was looking around, footsteps suddenly approached him. Not long after, three people stood in front of the table where he sat.

"Excuse me, this seat is empty, right?" A woman's voice.

Crowne lifted his head. In front of him was a blonde woman with wavy hair and a sword on her right hip. Behind her followed a man with a large shield and a short haired woman carrying a bow.

Without waiting for his answer, they immediately sat down in the seats across from Crowne. The woman who sat first smiled at him.

"You are a newcomer? We saw you earlier with a city guard. Only newcomers get treated like that," the woman said to start a conversation.

Crowne nodded slightly. "Yes. I arrived here yesterday. Is something wrong?"

"Ah, no. No. I was just asking. You know... like when people first get to know each other. We need small talk first, right?" the woman replied.

Crowne did not respond immediately. Just like what the guard told him earlier. If someone bothers you, ignore them.

But the woman did not feel ignored. She kept talking. "Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Lyrica." She tapped the shoulder of the big man beside her. "This is Gorhan, our tank. And the one with the bow is Meya."

Meya only gave a short nod, looking much quieter than the ever talking woman. Meanwhile, Gorhan kept staring at Crowne.

He observed him.

"I have an interesting offer for you," Lyrica said. She leaned forward. "Do you want to join us to hunt monsters tomorrow morning?"

Gorhan, who had been silent earlier, finally spoke. "Pretty handsome, I guess. Usually handsome guys like you are mid level mages or skilled assassins. What is your class?"

Crowne did not want to answer at first. But the stares of Lyrica, Meya, and Gorhan made him let out a long sigh. He answered the question.

"I am a beast tamer," he said briefly.

Lyrica, Gorhan, and Meya looked slightly disappointed because beast tamers were usually weak. They relied heavily on their beasts. Without a beast, they were almost useless.

But Lyrica exhaled and smiled again. "We need one more person to join our party. Do you want to join?"

Crowne was not interested at first, but after thinking again, he really needed to go to the forest to level up his beast. Lyrica's offer became tempting.

Lyrica raised her eyebrows and smiled even wider. "So how about it, mister newcomer? Interested in joining our party?"

Crowne nodded. "Alright. I will join you," he replied.

Lyrica immediately stood and high fived her two teammates. They had been searching for a party member but were always rejected because they were only rank C adventurers.

For adventurers in the capital, rank C was the lowest rank. Below rank C, no one would acknowledge you. And usually those below that rank would leave the capital.

They were still accepted in guilds in other cities. They would settle there while raising their rank or stay there forever.

"Alright then. Tomorrow we will meet here," Lyrica said.

She stood and motioned for her two teammates to leave. They would prepare, even though the mission would only be done tomorrow.

However, when Lyrica and her two teammates tried to leave, they were suddenly blocked by two other adventurers.

"So you are here, you worthless losers. I have been looking for you," someone said. His steps were heavy and firm. "Where is the food I told you to buy earlier? Why have you not bought it yet?"

Lyrica's face immediately paled. "Sorry... I forgot. I will buy it now..."

Before she could turn around, the man's large hand grabbed her blonde hair and pulled it back roughly.

THUD.

Lyrica's head was slammed into the man's knee. The impact was loud enough that several adventurers turned their heads.

"Useless trash!" the man shouted.

Lyrica fell. Blood dripped from her nose. When she tried to stand, the big man's foot stepped on her back.

"I do not like disobedient servants like you," the man said again.

He raised his hand, ready to pull Lyrica's hair again, but suddenly someone grabbed his hand.

"Stop or I will kill you!" Crowne threatened.
