Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 248: Undead Ritual (2)

Lucas looked at her with a concerned expression.

'Is she still stuck up on all that reality shit?' He thought.

"I mean how are you so 'okay' with this lifestyle, when we were back on our planet, we had everything… clothes, phones, wifi, places to visit, and everything! Why did things have to become so regressed? Now we don't even have soaps when we bathe, I can only brush my teeth with fucking branches, the food we eat is nice but not on the level with ACTUAL spices.

But why have you become so okay with all this?"

She stopped and looked at Lucas with a pair of eyes that looked very tired and depressed.

Lucas understood her question but not her emotions, she was so okay just a few seconds ago, and now she had such a depressed expression.

"Sandra… nobody has adjusted to this lifestyle properly, not even me. I look so happy and indulged because I have simply accepted things as they are… Sandra, listen, you can always be thinking of the past, everyone does it but do not let it hinder you from moving on… Don't keep any ifs and buts in your mind, please, this is the only thing I can say to you."

Lucas fell silent and moved to the corpses, one by one, he kept them all in a line with a few feet distance in between them.

"Thank you, Lucas. It helped."

Lucas heard from behind him and that was when he felt two hands on his waist and a warm feeling on his back.

Sandra had hugged him from behind and Lucas could even tell that she was crying as he heard her nose sniffle.

Lucas let her hug him but it felt wrong, he was already in a relationship with Sarah.

This felt very intimate, if Sarah was here, he knew even she wouldn't permit it, or will she? he didn't know.

Much like how he would not permit another man hug Sarah like that.

'Yet right now, I am not Lucas, I am not a friend of Sandra. I am the leader who is consoling his territory's civilian. Nothing wrong with that… nothing.'

After a minute, Lucas had to break the hug. Sandra didn't say much after that aside from inspecting the corpses.

But she looked fresh and more active than before.

"We can start with this one."

She said pointing to the corpse that looked normal, if Lucas didn't know better, he would have probably thought that the animal was asleep with its position and how preserved it looked.

Before Lucas could only nod at her, he became engrossed with what she was doing.

At first, she went a little ahead in the forest confusing Lucas but then she brought back a stick that looked sturdy.

She didn't ask for help so Lucas didn't bother her. She crouched and started plucking out the grass from the ground. Even a herb came in between yet she just plucked and threw it away not knowing if it was important.

Lucas saw the herb with indifference, it was of the type that could be found anywhere, even the expanse inside the shelter's defense had them all around the place.

After a few minutes, Sandra made a circle out of the cut grass, then she used the stick to make it even deeper.

When she was done, she took the body of the wolf that she picked up without any trouble even though it was surely above 50 kg.

She kept the corpse in the circle that fit perfectly, Lucas looked at the whole thing with interest.

When it came to stuff like this, he was always the first observer.

Seeing a ritual going on in front of him seemed unreal, it had not happened till now. Read latest stories on My Virtual Library Empire

"Alright, now one last thing."

"What's the last thing."

"Hehe~ you will know in a minute."

Sandra took out a small dagger from her pouch and went inside the circle, Lucas felt like she was going to do something with the wolf's corpse yet she slashed her arm instead.

"Is that necessary?"

"Yes yes, it's actually the main part. Don't disturb me right now please."

Lucas kept his mouth shut even though he had many concerns in mind.

Blood trickled out of her wound yet Sarah was indifferent about it.

She covered her finger in that blood by putting it on the cut and then went close to the face of the wolf.

'What the fuck?'

To be fair, it was a very 'normal' response, seeing what Lucas was observing could send shivers down any sain person's eyes.

Sandra had opened the eyelids of the damn mutt and stabbed her bloodied finger in it.

Lucas swore he heard a pop sound from the eye.

She even moved her finger out and when it came out, her finger was filled with chunks of mess.

Lucas had no problem seeing it but he was happy she hadn't brought her sister or anyone else from the shelter. They would have actually done a vote to ban the use of such a skill.

It looked weirder as she was a healer, it did not look good that she was performing such gore with her own hands.

Lucas saw her do the same with her other eye and when she was done, she wiped the chunks off he fingers on the soil nearby.

"Oh good, you are not okay with this too."

"Shut up, it's the toughest part. I have been practicing this chant for days now."

'Chant?'

The weirdest words came out of Sandra's mouth, her eyes were closed and she was standing dramatically just a few inches away from the circle in which the mutt was present in.

Lucas understood only a few of the words she said thanks to his 'Universal Language' Title.

The words were demon or demonic and sacrifice or something. He didn't get anything else and that was the part he was the most panicking about.

'Is she worshiping a demon or something? Making offerings?'

The chant was over and now there was a jerk in Sandra's body.

"COME FORTH!!" She shouted and her eyes opened only to see that there were only the whites in them.
