Chapter 646: Infiltration Operation, Hostage Taking Again
"An Oscar trophy?"
In a building on the outskirts of Brasilia City, Winslow showed a puzzled look upon hearing the words from Luo An's mouth, then after a brief thought, he realized and exclaimed in astonishment:
"Are you saying that the black woman's subordinate faked her own death, and she's acting?"
"Maybe."
Luo An glanced at Leonardo and Roland nearby, and said in a deep voice:
"Almeron's men are after Leonardo, and the guys behind those AK-masked men will keep looking for us.
After I leave with Chenier and Reesi, this place is all yours, remember to be extra careful."
Among the six people in Unit 13, purely comparing the skills of shooting, fighting and other combat abilities, Luo An, the team leader, is undoubtedly in the first tier.
Following him closely was Winslow, then Chenier, followed by Reesi, with the technical expert Mona and office expert Michelle at the end.
"No problem."
Winslow nodded gravely with a serious expression and said with a heavy tone:
"I will ensure the safety of these people until you return."
Luo An patted Winslow on the shoulder strongly, gave him a few instructions about keeping an eye on Leonardo and others, then turned and walked towards Reesi and Chenier.
As Reesi and Chenier were organizing their equipment, Luo An said:
"The plan for this operation is simple, I'm in charge of the main attack, and you two will provide cover. We'll return to that jungle and infiltrate to capture the enemy leader of Sarls!"
"No problem."
With a "click" as she loaded her gun, Chenier nodded seriously with a determined look, and Reesi thought for a moment then asked softly:
"Luo An, the 'infiltration' you mentioned, what kind is it?"
Luo An, picking up an MP5-9mm submachine gun, tucking a Colt M1911 pistol into his back waist, putting on a HUGGE bulletproof vest, and picking up several grenades, smoke bombs, and stun grenades, smirked showing his pearly white teeth and counter-asked:
"What do you think?"
"Understood."
Reesi chuckled softly and quietly took a few more submachine gun magazines.
Everything ready, the trio of Luo An, along with Winslow and Mona, five in total, separated on the spot. They set up a communication method in case of emergencies and split into two groups, heading in their respective directions.
By now, the sun was slowly rising, and the sunny day was clear without a single cloud; it looked like good weather.
At the edge of the jungle, some poorly dressed, even tattered, locals were silently handling the bodies, arranging them together for burning.
These locals were doing this not by government's orders, but purely out of fear that decomposing bodies would spread disease, and also because there were many valuable things on those bodies that could be sold for money.
Walking past the area they had just come from, Luo An's trio quietly re-entered the jungle from another side.
Using the "emotional perception" in his mind, Luo An discovered that this once bustling jungle was now completely empty. They smoothly reached the previously empty land where Sarls and his men were, finding nothing but bodies.
Without lingering in that place, Luo An's trio continued toward the location Sarls's men and enemies were exchanging fire, still finding nobody but bodies.
Moving carefully to the former ambush site of Sarls's enemies, Luo An's trio found that their bodies had been gathered in a crater created by an explosion, with no sign of the other enemies.
"It seems these guys have already left."
Reesi touched the bullet holes on a nearby fallen tree, observed for a few seconds, then mumbled in a low voice:
"The direction of retreat seems to be west."
After carefully scrutinizing the surroundings, Luo An and Chenier came to the same conclusion and immediately continued moving westward.
Quickly moving along, after crossing a river, Luo An suddenly stopped, clenched his right fist silently and crouched down, causing Chenier and Reesi to quickly stop and cautiously observe their surroundings.
Using "emotional perception" to carefully scan for a moment, confirming that the enemies were not far ahead, Luo An immediately waved his hand to give commands. Understanding his gestures, Reesi and Chenier silently nodded and quietly moved to both sides.
Meanwhile, not far ahead in the jungle, a fifteen-member team looking like mercenaries, split into two groups—four stayed back to observe the surroundings while the others silently moved westward in turns.
In the middle of the fifteen people, there were two white men not wearing helmets and holding pistols.
The one on the left, appearing to be in his thirties with a scar on his forehead, frowned and muttered obscenities under his breath. The man on the right with a hooked nose kept his head down and moved forward without saying a word.
"How much farther?"
"Twenty minutes' walk."
"Let's get moving, I want to find a woman and get some sleep quickly, today was a damn mess."
"Yeah, those damned guys..."
The four mercenaries left behind cursed and complained as they walked; today's battle had totally caught them off guard.
As they went around a big tree, all four abruptly noticed an abnormal glow and their faces changed as they instinctively got ready to raise their guns.
Before they could point their guns, three figures suddenly jumped out from the side. A glint of cold light flashed, Reesi and Chenier stabbed one person each with a knife, while Luo An, like a ghost, quickly slit the throats of the other two with his knife.
The four men fell to the ground, sinking into a deep sleep. Sensing the distance, Luo An pulled out two grenades, exchanged a look with Chenier and Reesi, the two women repeated Luo An's action, then together with Luo An, they threw them out.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Fu-k!"
"Ambush!"
"Damn it!"
"Behind! Behind!"
"They're behind us! Be careful!"
The explosion of the grenades was deafening and dirt flew everywhere; the remaining dozen people didn't even have time to react and more than half of them were instantly casualties.
Those unhurt quickly got up from the ground, screaming loudly while crazily shooting behind them.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sound of bullets breaking the air was harsh, but right after throwing the grenades, Chenier and Reesi, hidden behind some big trees, were not panicked at all. Similarly hiding behind another big tree, Luo An took out a smoke bomb and shouted loudly:
"Throw smoke bombs! When someone runs out of the smoke, shoot them, got it?"
"Got it!"
"No problem!"
Both women echoed simultaneously, and along with Luo An, they threw the smoke bombs towards the enemy.
Hiss—
Six smoke bombs erupted, and thick white smoke instantly enveloped the small area of the jungle, drastically reducing visibility.
Taking advantage of the enemy ceasing fire, Luo An drank a bottle of [Hemostatic Potion] and [Agility Potion] out of sight, then suddenly leaped into the smoke.
"Retreat! Get out of here!"
"Hurry up and leave!"
"Be careful! They—"
Bang, bang, bang—
Under the shocked and terrified gaze of the mercenaries, Luo An, navigating by "emotional positioning" and not by sight, took down one with each shot in the thick smoke. They didn't even see him approaching, but a bullet hole appeared on their foreheads before they lost consciousness.
Barely managing to escape the thick smoke, before they could rejoice, Chenier and Reesi outside squeezed the triggers of their submachine guns, bullets flying out and sending the mercenaries into a deep sleep.
"Who the hell is this guy?"
"Where is he? Where?"
"I found him! Quick—"
Bang!
Of the fifteen mercenaries, Luo An and his two companions silently eliminated four at the start, grenades killed or injured nearly half, and with the remaining six panicking and striking back, most of their bullets missed because of the heavy smoke, Luo An quickly killed three more in the blink of an eye.
Bang—
With the remaining three wildly firing around, Luo An couldn't avoid in time and a bullet hit his shoulder, he groaned softly with an even colder expression, rolled to the side to dodge into the smoke to block the enemy's line of sight, then found a good angle and raised his submachine gun again.
Bang, bang, bang—
Two shots to the chest and one to the head, the three enemies fell face first, furious, and until their death, they didn't understand how Luo An's positioning was so accurate even in such thick smoke.
Only two white men without helmets remained at the scene, as Luo An was about to get up, a man with a hooked nose suddenly held a man with a scar near his eye hostage, pulling out a pistol and pressing it against the other's temple, shouting loudly:
"Don't come any closer! I'll shoot if you do!"
"??? x3"
