Legendary FBI Detective

Chapter 643: Sudden Fight, Information Leak

Wildcat helicopters, are multi-purpose helicopters developed jointly by the Kingdom of England and the French Republic.

Upon seeing people from Sarls piloting the Wildcat helicopter, all agents of Team 13 were surprised and also realized that the possibility of a connection between Sarls and MI6 had increased.

But before they could continue contemplating, a rocket-propelled grenade with a red tail flame suddenly shot out, slamming heavily into the lead Wildcat helicopter!

Boom—

A deafening explosion sounded in the distance. The severely damaged Wildcat helicopter immediately began to emit flames and spin uncontrollably towards the ground.

Several more rockets were fired, some helicopters successfully evaded, and others were hit and crashed to the ground.

The sudden turn of events shocked all the agents of Team 13, and both Leonardo and Roland's faces were filled with astonishment, somewhat at a loss, as this was completely outside their plan.

Luo An reacted the fastest; though he didn't know what exactly was happening in the distance, he quickly pushed Leonardo's head down and loudly ordered everyone to take cover:

"Take cover!"

"Understood!"

Once the order was given, all agents from Team 13 immediately began seeking safe places to hide. Roland grabbed Leonardo's arm and whispered urgently:

"Call Sarls to find out what the hell is going on!"

"OK, OK!"

Leonardo nodded repeatedly and hurriedly took out his phone to press the buttons.

As the two were talking, Luo An suddenly felt a chill rush up his spine. Without hesitation, he immediately kicked Leonardo and Roland to the side and shouted:

"Everyone, get down!"

"What?"

Leonardo hadn't yet reacted when Roland, as though sensing something, quickly pulled Leonardo to the ground.

Boom—

The next second, two rockets suddenly flew from a distance towards them, blasting the car Luo An and others had just arrived in into pieces!

The two vehicles instantly turned into wreckage strewn all over, and the blazing flames brightly illuminated the area, sending chills down everyone's spine. Winslow immediately turned his gaze towards the direction the rockets came from and frowned:

"Who is the enemy?"

"I don't know!"

Mona and Reesi quickly took up their guns and entered a state of alert while Luo An swiftly got up from the ground and sensed, through his "emotional perception," approximately thirty unfamiliar emotional fluctuations nearby. He quickly pulled out a grenade and called out loudly:

"Everyone, with all your might, throw grenades westward! Then retreat to the east!"

"Understood!"

Although the agents didn't know how Luo An had determined the enemy's distance, their long-established trust meant they didn't ask questions and immediately followed Luo An's command, throwing the grenades.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The grenades hit the ground, and a series of explosions sounded one after another. Nearly ten individuals, with only their eyes exposed on their black-masked heads, wearing the cheapest bulletproof vests available, and carrying AK rifles, were instantly blasted to pieces.

"Fu-k!"

"Damn it!"

"How did they discover us?"

The remaining masked men, splattered with blood, were either astonished or fearful, but those following did not give them any time to rest. More similarly dressed individuals rushed up and shouted:

"Quit dawdling! The boss ordered us to quickly kill those guys!"

The blood-stained masked men's expressions turned solemn, and they immediately charged forward again. A few dozen meters behind them, a big-bearded man, expressionless and holding a phone, spoke calmly:

"Boss, I've found Leonardo. He won't survive today."

Meanwhile, all the agents from Team 13, under Luo An's leadership, were eliminating their pursuers and retreating in an orderly fashion.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Reesi and Chenier moved staggeringly towards the east, pulling the triggers of their submachine guns, blowing the heads off their enemies. Reesi frowned and said:

"Where did these people come from?"

Just as Chenier was about to speak, Luo An's voice suddenly came through the communicator in their ears:

"These people's equipment and weapons are very similar to those at the bottom of Almeron's rank. They must be sent by Almeron to kill Leonardo."

"I have the same guess."

Chenier took down an enemy with a shot and added:

"Their method of attack is very rudimentary, very much like those from the bottom ranks under Almeron, who have barely received any professional training."

"Damn it."

Reesi cursed softly and asked:

"We've all fled from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia, how did Almeron find us so quickly?!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three shots took out three hooded men, Luo An said calmly:

"Almeron has been in Rio de Janeiro for decades, it's normal for him to have some friends in Brasilia."

Reesi's face turned unsightly, Chenier, pressing the communicator, asked:

"Team leader, what do we do next? Retreat immediately?"

"No!"

Luo An glanced in the direction where the helicopter had been before, his eyes narrowed as he spoke in a deep voice:

"Everyone stick close to me, we advance toward the northeast side!"

The place where the helicopter had been hit by the rocket was still a considerable distance from them, Luo An was sure that those who attacked Sarls were not the same people as those attacking them.

Although he didn't know the identities of those who attacked Sarls, heading towards that battlefield was currently the best option.

On one hand, after so much effort to finally draw the target, Sarls, to Brasilia, they couldn't possibly give up halfway and leave.

On the other hand, with a sizable number of pursuers behind them, constantly running away wasn't realistic, as the agents of Unit Thirteen would eventually run out of bullets.

Instead of waiting to be slaughtered, they might as well head to the site of the helicopter crash and stir things up even more, ideally shifting the pursuers' and those attacking Sarls' attention, and maybe even tricking the two enemy groups into fighting each other.

After quickly explaining his plan and course of action, the agents immediately began moving swiftly towards the helicopter.

As they moved hastily, Luo An ran to Leonardo's side:

"Can you get in touch with Sarls?"

"I'll try again."

Leonardo, running, swallowed saliva and took out his phone again.

The call was answered in just a few seconds, amidst loud gunfire in the background, Sarls asked with a stern voice:

"Who is this?"

Leonardo quickly revealed his identity and, without any nonsense, directly asked:

"What's the situation on your end?"

"The news of my visit to Brasilia has leaked, an old enemy had set up an ambush there ahead of time."

Sarls chuckled coldly over the phone and said:

"Your call is timely; I just wanted to ask how my enemies knew about this."

Leonardo's complexion changed:

"What do you mean, you suspect me?"

"What else?"

Sarls's voice was very cold:

"There is absolutely no problem with the people around me, if the news didn't leak from your side, where else could it have come from?"

"I..."

Leonardo's words faltered; looking back and forth at Luo An and the others, his phone's call volume was high enough for everyone, including Luo An, to hear Sarls's words.

The agents of Unit Thirteen could confirm there was no issue amongst them, Leonardo had been closely watched the whole time and hadn't had a chance to contact anyone else, which made Reesi and the others turn their eyes toward Roland, who was besides them.

Roland: "..."

"It's not him."

Luo An waved his hand to stop the agents from suspecting and then made several gestures with his mouth to Leonardo.

Noticing this, Leonardo nodded, and then briefly described to Sarls on the phone the situation about them also being chased, mentioned Luo An's plan to lure the enemies into fighting each other, and finally said:

"Sarls, I can assure you the news did not leak from me, but let's put that aside for now. The priority is to figure out how to get out of here fast, don't you agree?"

After a moment of silence on the phone, Sarls replied:

"That's fine, let's get through this crisis together first."

"OK."

Once the call ended, Leonardo sighed with relief while Mona's brows were tightly furrowed:

"How exactly was the news of Sarls's arrival to Brasilia leaked?"

"Don't know, we'll talk about it once we get there."

Luo An looked thoughtfully into the distance, then continued to lead the others towards the direction of the helicopter. Not far behind them, a group of men brandishing AKs was relentlessly pursuing them.
