Chapter 30: Job Done, Time to Go
Oh, dear witches and wizards of Hogwarts, you must understand, just as a horse doesn't fatten without night grazing, a man doesn't grow rich without unexpected windfalls!
Though the pure-malt whisky-drinking Rune Horse might disagree, the sentiment still holds true in most cases.
Now, only one problem lay before Allen: standing right in front of him was a pile of walking Galleons... but there was no way he could devour it all in one bite.
And to make matters worse, after tonight's operation, he wouldn't be able to act again for quite some time. This wasn't a dungeon he could farm over and over again. In a way, the true ownership of these Galleons technically belonged to Hagrid.
Alright then, let's review the standard procedure for spider-hunting.
Step one: lure them out. Entering the territory of giant spiders will provoke a patrol response.
Once they spot an intruder, the spiders will send out foot soldiers to attack.
It's crucial to lure them out of their nest, fighting them inside could provoke the entire swarm.
Since spider attacks have a delay, your best bet is to dodge the first strike, then counterattack during the opening.
After defeating several waves and confirming the nest is empty, you destroy the structure and take out the final defending warrior, conquering the spider nest, completely.
Important note: if you lure them too many times, the nest might spawn a Spider Queen. And that is a nightmare creature.
Then it's time to collect your loot, monster meat, webs, spider glands for healing, and perhaps even a transplantable nest.
Wait a minute…
Something seems off?
Oops, wrong script.
Although Allen figured this stash of Galleons could fund ten or more heroes in the system, the issue remained, he simply couldn't carry it all.
So, back to the plan.

The moment that dark purple curse burst among the spider horde, Allen sprinted out like a bolt. The passive skill from the Scarecrow class might have seemed unimpressive on paper, but in practice, it was far more useful than expected.
Still, he had no intention of charging toward the spider nest. Aragog might not mind the disturbance, but Allen wasn't about to deliver midnight snacks to these beasts.
He bolted back the way he came.
Behind him, a number of spiders, rudely awakened by the magical ambush, were enraged. With Aragog blind, there was no chance they'd send out the entire horde in pursuit. Doing so would mean rebellion against their leader.
The odd bird-like creature that attacked them with strange magic had briefly disrupted their connection to magic. But after their initial fear faded, fury took its place, and they gave chase. As one of the Forbidden Forest's most terrifying species, their sheer numbers gave them the courage to face almost any threat.
But quantity comes with a price, namely, being vulnerable to large-area magic that ignores the front line.
Enter one of the most devastating area-of-effect spells in all of League: Crowstorm.
Long cast time. Easy to interrupt. Loud. Often misfired. Frequently dodged or nullified. The spell had more weaknesses than one could count.
And yet, none of that mattered. It remained one of the greatest comeback tools because of one reason alone, its monstrous damage.
Just as the spider swarm was preparing to launch magical webs at the now-slowing bird in the air, a small figure in wizard robes suddenly appeared among them. Normally, such a puny meal wouldn't even be enough for a snack.
But this time, the roles of hunter and prey were reversed. The instant that little wizard arrived, a surge of frenzied magical power flooded into the spiders, tearing through every inch of their bodies.
Along with the spell came that all-too-familiar dark purple glow, the same curse from earlier, rendering the spiders stunned with recognition and dread.
This wasn't good. As intelligent magical beasts, the spiders might be brutal, but they weren't stupid. They immediately realized this was a carefully orchestrated ambush.
Unfortunately… it was too late.
Valor, Allen's crow-like companion, cast the same spell again.
Valor, dubbed so by Allen's own mischievous humor, could only use the Scarecrow's abilities efficiently when paired with Allen. And when two Scarecrow ultimates were used in quick succession?
Well, there's not much left to explain, is there?
An old master of flair once said: "Strike one down every ten steps, travel ten thousand miles without a trace."
Such valor! We may not match the great master, but a victorious toast after battle is only fitting, even if no audience is present to witness it.
With that thought, Allen dramatically pulled out several small, elegant glass vials from his robes, dropped flat to the forest floor, and began collecting poison from the enormous spider corpses.
What, you say spiders are hairy, dark, and terrifying?
Are you blind? Just look at that dazzling golden glow!
Luckily for Allen, the fight had ended quickly. The spiders hadn't had time to use their venom or destroy their poison sacs. That meant a generous haul, every vial filled nearly to the brim with valuable spider venom.
Only after he finished collecting did Allen finally notice a system prompt. His eyes, now glowing golden like freshly minted coins, widened as he read:
System Objective: Spider Corpses Required.
Huh?
What was this?
Allen blinked in confusion, but his hands never stopped. As soon as he touched another "natural money box," the spider's corpse vanished into thin air.
Then, a new interface popped up.
It flickered half-lit on the system menu:
Spider Queen Elise – Hero Shard 0.15/3
"Come on, System," Allen muttered, "lean in close so I can give you a buff!"
"Are you seriously telling me hero shards come with decimal points now?!"
But alas, no answer. The system remained stoically silent.
Still, one thing was clear: these spiders just got a serious price increase. That was good news... for Allen, anyway.
Allen wasn't greedy. He had no intention of pushing his luck. Aragog wasn't stupid, and if Hagrid showed up, everything would fall apart.
In the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid's home turf, there was only one wizard Allen wouldn't dare challenge: Dumbledore. Anyone else, he could probably outmaneuver.
With that, Allen raised his wand and began chanting a long incantation. Blue light shimmered around him.
After a full minute of still casting, his body slowly faded from view, vanishing into the shadows of the Forbidden Forest.
