Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Zhi Hua would have been on his phone right now reading some novel but he has to sit here without any form of entertainment. They have games but not online games just ones like chess, checkers and all that.
He can still remember the day he found out and that was something he never wants to repeat. He has just able to walk again after half a year when he asked Aunty Chen for a phone but she replied that it was only something you see outside the slum, feeling bored he decided to stroll to a bookstore and look for an adventure book but he couldn't find it so he tried to ask the librarian for any book that had magic and all that in it, he would have even settled on a book involving mythology.
The moment he was about to speak the word 'magic', he was assaulted with eerie whispers that made his head pound fiercely. It lasted a few minutes but that was enough to put him on bed rest for another six months eventually losing the health he had recovered. He experimented painfully a few times and deduced that any word related to 'magic' like anime, light novels even genres based on it induces a head pounding headache. Zhi Hua seems to think that the knowledge of all the novels in his head must be very important.
He hasn't heard a peep from the mist, it just disperses into the air unnoticed by everyone else. The only option left for him is to go to another world like before and see if it would come out again but the problem is how. The slums is a place which faces heavy discrimination from the other half of society to the point that they have no education system nor are they included in anything involving the players.
Zhi Hua thought of all his options like Feng could sneak in and gain a footing there before coming back to take him but that might take too long, he could go and make a scene infront of the wall they used to separate us but he might be shot before making a peep or he could cause a commotion here so that they can come down here and investigate then he might take the chance to follow them back. That last one sounded plausible but the only way he knows is to be a terrorist, he doesn't know how to make bombs besides killing a bunch of people would help them.
The only hope is if they come down here by themselves. Zhi Hua seemed to be inspired; they must be looking for him so why not leave a tip for them. He can write something about magic in Chinese then spread it around the slums so that it would leak to them, infact Zhi Hua suddenly had the idea to make this place his base since it is the furthest from that giant eyeball and it's mostly blocked off.
That's a thought for later. Even if they come down to investigate, they wouldn't just randomly take him with them and neither can he reveal he was the one they're looking for. Maybe he could hijack their ride but he doubts it, I have an idea. I almost forgot about my good friend the soldier, it seems I might need to catch up with him after all this time.
After work, he spent some time to write the word 'spells' in Chinese. It was the easiest word to write because it has different meanings, it can either be a wizard spell or to spell a word but since he naturally means the first one then it seemed to have a wisp of black mist. There seems to be another thing, the people in this world only speak Korean even though it's a mix of different countries.
He gave the papers to Feng then instructed her not to be seen and to toss it around the entire slums before dropping some at the wall. She wore a Halloween mask he managed to find that covered the entire face and only left the eye to see. It was white plus her black hoodie covering her hair made her look like a wannabe superhero and he told her that laughing.
The first few days were peaceful , it was to be expected as no one here cares for a piece of paper but eventually one person was curious and read it but fainted on the spot with blood coming out of their nose. The situation spread until people mistook it for a new disease that was transmitted from the paper. They tried to gather it up without reading and burn it but alas it still ended up with 70% of the people in the slums in a near death state. As Zhi Hua expected, thise in the walls didn't care about it but once it started to spread to the out squirts of the wall then they began to panic and riot for a solution.
The cause of this problem was at home playing chess with himself leisurely. Zhi Hua was certain that none of them would die since he wrote it in a language they don't know and they only read it only said it. The reason they have an extreme reaction is because they are in bad health normally and it disrupted the delicate balance they had but after a few weeks they improved better. The people who actually had it bad were those in the walls who were closer to the eyeball.
When the people in the slums found out, they were somewhat pleased as they felt that they had their grievance retribute and that's how 'someone' seemed to remember that they saw a hooded figure dropping the papers around and running away. The legend of that person started to spread to the ears of those inside the walls, naturally they sent a team to investigate but unexpected they received orders from the highest authority to dispatch a group of heroes with the normal law enforcers.
Zhi Hua was waiting for this people to arrive for a month. By now, the people in the slums had recovered and things were normal with the addition of a vengeful person spreading. He was surprised that they invited a group of players and even more happy when Feng told him that his acquaintance was part of them. He was originally planning to make a scene claiming to be his great friend but luckily they brought him to his doorstep.
So when he came to his house to question him. Zh Hua gave him a warm smile which made him shiver and have goosebumps. He led him to his room to converse alone.
"It's fun to revisit memories isn't it" Zhi Hua said pointing a gun at his head. He had kept the gun from the game with him in case but who knew it would meet a familiar face.
"You....ah" Min ho had no tears left to cry. Why did he have to meet this guy again.
