KONOHAMARU SHIPPUDEN

Chapter 7: My Ninja Academia

In the 58th year of Konohagakure's vibrant history, the Sarutobi compound buzzed with energy.

"Happy birthday, Konohamaru! My sweet baby is all grown up," my mother said, her eyes twinkling with the kind of love only a mom could have. She handed me a neatly wrapped gift.

"Happy birthday, kiddo," echoed my dad, his voice full of that paternal pride that made me feel like I was still his little boy.

"Thanks, Mom and Dad," I responded, feeling the warmth of their affection.

Now, you might think it's just another birthday, but for me, this was more of a milestone. Here I was, Konohamaru Sarutobi, once an average Joe from Earth, now living my best life in a world where ninjas and jutsus were the norm. By earth years, I should be worrying about college exams, but instead, I was mastering taijutsu and other ninja staff. Life had taken a very... adventurous turn.

The celebration was in full swing when we heard a knock. "Come in, the door's open," Mom called out, her voice sweet yet firm.

In walked Ebisu, my former sensei, looking as prim and proper as ever. "Hey, Konohamaru, happy birthday!" he exclaimed, handing me yet another gift.

"Thanks, Sensei," I replied, truly grateful for his presence.

"I'm not your sensei anymore, Konohamaru. My teaching has been completed," Ebisu said with a delightful chuckle.

"It doesn't matter; you are still my sensei, Ebisu-san. I've learned a lot from you, you're like a father to me that's been around," I said, laying it on thick, my eyes wide and innocent, like a child craving for another paternal figure.

"Ahh, that's touching to hear, little Konohamaru. You've broken your old man's heart," Dad responded from across the room, his tone mockingly hurt.

"Don't worry, Dad, you're my second dad," I said with a grin that couldn't have been wider if I tried.

The laughter filled the room, and then, as if on cue, the lights dimmed. From the kitchen, a huge cake rolled out, by my mom, decked out in a chef's hat, her face smeared with icing.

"Surprise!" Mom shouted, and everyone clapped. "I made this myself! Well, with a little help from your dad". The cake was... creative. It was shaped like a mountain, with ninjas climbing it, all made out of icing. "It's the Hokage's mountain!" Mom beamed proudly.

"Konohamaru, make a wish," said Ebisu, standing beside the masterpiece of confectionery.

I closed my eyes, not really sure what to wish for. And I just blew the candle because everyone was waiting. I didn't want to keep them longer than necessary.

The applause erupted again, this time with the cheers of "Happy Birthday!" Then, just as I was about to cut into the edible mountain, I heard the front door slide open, and in walked Grandpa, who everyone called the 3rd Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, slightly late as always, but with a gift that was oddly shaped and wrapped in paper that looked suspiciously like they'd been pulled from the depths of his office, where they'd probably been collecting dust for years. "I hope I'm not too late," he said, a smile shape in his eye.

"Not at all, Grandpa!" I grinned, rushing over to hug him, the icing from the cake inadvertently transferring onto his robes. Grandpa Humm, eyeing the cake. "I reckon this calls for a story of my own days, when the village was still not built."

The room settled down for one of Grandpa's tales, which usually involved a mix of historical inaccuracies.

Mom, still in her chef's regalia, decided it was time to serve the cake.

With all the solemnity of a true Hokage, she began slicing through the mountain, only to realize that the cake was far denser than anticipated. Each slice required a heroic effort, and soon, my dad had to join in, making a show of it by using a kunai.

"What have you put in here, woman? Rocks?" Dad grunted.

"Ah, it's just to make sure you all get a real taste of the Hidden Leaf's endurance!" Mom replied, trying to keep a straight face.

The cake was, in true fashion, a bit of a disaster. The ninjas fell from their precarious positions, the mountain began to crumble, and the icing got everywhere. But as we all sat down, laughing over the mess. And just like that, time passes now a 6 year old about to go to academy school..

As I walked into the schoolyard, my tail twitching with anticipation, I noticed everyone was staring. I guess not every day you see a kid with a tail and the agility of a monkey. But hey, that's me.

The yard buzzed with energy. Parents were hugging their children, some for the first time letting go of their little ones into the world of shinobi. Kids of all backgrounds, from ninja clans to civilians, and even orphans with hopeful eyes, mingled together, each with dreams as grand as the Hokage Mountain itself.

I maneuvered my way to the back, not wanting to draw too much attention, though my unique appendage made that a futile effort. Kids whispered and pointed, their curiosity piqued by the new student with the tail. However, my focus was on the podium where gramps the Third Hokage would soon address us.

The crowd hushed as the Hokage, a figure of wisdom and strength, stepped onto the stage. His presence commanded silence, and even the most unruly child quieted down, sensing the gravity of the moment.

"Welcome, young ninjas, to the Hidden Leaf Village's Ninja Academy," he began, his voice resonant and clear. "Today marks the first day of your journey, a path that will shape not only your futures but also the future of our village."

His gaze swept over the sea of children and their parents, stopping briefly on a small figure whose tail flicked back and forth. His words painted a vision of honor, duty, and the importance of unity. He spoke of how every child here, regardless of origin, could rise to greatness.

"Every one of you, regardless of your origin or background, has the potential to rise to greatness," he declared, his eyes bright with conviction. The parents, standing proud and teary-eyed, felt their hearts swell with pride, recognizing the gravity of this moment for their offspring.

As he continued, the Hokage's voice softened, "The strength of a ninja does not come from physical prowess alone. It is forged in the fires of friendship, loyalty, and the willingness to protect those you hold dear."

the speech concluded, a sense of community enveloped everyone. The parents clapped, some with tears in their eyes, proud of the step their children were taking. The children, myself included, erupted in cheers.

As the ceremony ended, children and parents mingled, exchanging hopeful smiles and promises of support. I moved through the crowd, feeling both the warmth of the community Now stepping into a room full of kids some still high on the excitement of the ceremony, others already slipping into their usual playful antics.

"Good morning, everyone!" a cheerful voice filled the room. Konohamaru, sitting in the back of the class, perked up his monkey ear. "This is your first day at school, so I need everyone to behave," the teacher, Kosubo, announced. She was a chunin, a rank that meant she was a very skilled ninja, and she had a friendly smile that made every kid feel less nervous.

Every kid in the room clapped, including me

"Now that I've introduced myself," Kosubo continued, "let's go around the room. You at the first row, what's your name?"

The introductions began. Each child stood up, shared their name, and told a little bit about themselves. When it was my turn and the last to introduce as I'm in the back seats where I'm close to the window like an anime protagonist, I stood up, my tail curling slightly, ready for the spotlight.

"Hello, my name is Konohamaru.I like to drink the blood of my foe and eat the flesh of my victims; my goal in life is to conquer the world and color it with black," I declared with a straight face, causing an immediate silence to descend upon the room.

A few giggles erupted, but most were confused by my stark statement. Kosubo, however, didn't miss a beat. Her smile broadened, and she leaned in, curiosity piqued. "Interesting, Konohamaru. That's quite the ambition. But why black?"

I shrugged, feeling the weight of everyone's eyes on me. "Black absorbs all colors. It's the color of void, of mystery. It's powerful,"I explained, my voice softer now. "But really I don't have any good idea to introduce myself hehe, so I went with this route, did I scare you sensei?"

The teacher nodded, her response dripping with sarcasm, "I'm frightened, indeed. Now, let's move on to our introductions; we will start our learning." The class chuckled, easing back into their seats, the tension lifted by Kosubo's light-hearted approach.

The rest of the day was filled with lessons about chakra control, basic jutsu, and the history of the Hidden Leaf Village. I made sure to keep my tail in check, not letting it distract me or the others, but I was also aware that my classmates were curious. At recess, a group of kids approached me one of them was udon a supposed friend with konohamaru.

"Konohamaru, can we see your tail move?" one of them asked, eyes wide with wonder. I let my tail do a little dance, eliciting gasps and laughter. "It's not just for show;" he explained, his voice filled with pride. "It helps with balance when I'm jumping from roof to roof, and sometimes," he flicked his tail, wrapping it around a nearby branch, "it even grabs things when I need an extra hand—or tail, I should say."

The day progressed, The classmates who initially seemed wary now wanted to learn more about my abilities, asking if I could mimic any other animals or if I had any special ninja techniques related to my tail.

"Can you mimic any other animals?" Udon Ise asked with glasses, his interest piqued.

Konohamaru's eyes lit up. "Well, I've been working on some jutsus. Watch this!" With a flicker of chakra, his tail momentarily transformed into a snake, slithering and then disappearing back into his usual monkey tail, eliciting a chorus of 'wow's and 'cool's.

The rest of the day was filled with such demonstrations. Konohamaru showed how his tail could be used in combat, to swing from tree to tree during training, and even as a tool to play pranks, though he promised to use that last part sparingly. His classmates, who had initially kept their distance, now crowded around him, eager to learn more about his unique abilities.

By the end of the day, as we gathered our things to head home" bye konohamaru see you tomorrow" everyone said a goodbye, Huh, look at that. On my first day at school, I've become popular with the kids. It wasn't bothering me as much as I thought it would. Instead, I like the attention I'm getting. I have no idea why though.

'Did I become a pedo?, no bad thoughts get away from my brain'. Anyways school wasn't so bad, I know I probably won't be staying for long as it's just gonna be boring as I already know everything from the academy.

The walk home was reflective. The path through the village, lined with trees and house's, felt lighter, the air sweeter. Every now and then, I'd swing my tail, feeling its weight. As I approached my home, the door to my house creaked open, and I stepped inside, my tail following like a loyal friend. "I'm home," I called out....
