Kidnapper system: kidnapped girls all become yanderes

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

At the entrance of a luxurious private villa, tall men in sharp suits had gathered, resembling a bodybuilder talent show.

"Hey, what's going on here?"

A towering, muscular man standing in line turned around, clearly annoyed by the question from behind. His irritation shifted to amusement as he noticed a man significantly shorter than him.

"Kid, this isn't the place for you. I suggest you go home."

"I'm just curious. Mind explaining?"

"Alright, do you even know whose villa this is?"

"No idea."

"This belongs to Li Jing of the Li Group, a big name in Shucheng."

"Li Jing? Who's that?"

"..."

The man shot Ye Feng a disdainful look before finally answering.

"Think of him as a rich guy we'd never get to meet."

"Oh~ And what does that have to do with you all lining up?"

"Kid, don't you watch the news? Miss Li Mucheng, the daughter of the Li family, was kidnapped last night! So, Mr. Li is recruiting capable people to see if someone's skilled enough to protect the young lady."

Ye Feng feigned shock, his expression exaggerated. "What?! Kidnapped? Who would dare do such a thing? Are they insane?"

"Exactly! Anyone bold enough to kidnap Miss Li Mucheng must be part of some powerful criminal group. Otherwise, it'd be impossible to abduct her under such tight security."

"Maybe..."

"Maybe? We're talking about facing dark forces! Doesn't that ignite a fire in your heart?"

Ye Feng glanced at the man, whose suit strained against his massive physique, and shook his head with a blank expression.

"I don't believe any of this is genuine."

"What?"

"It's about money."

"Bah! How mundane!"

"Oh, so you're volunteering to work for free, asking for nothing in return?"

"Well, ideals are one thing, and reality's another. Gotta keep them separate."

The muscular man chuckled awkwardly, then shifted to a serious tone.

"Listen, kid, with your small frame, I suggest you try your luck next door. This isn't a joke. Protecting bigwigs can be deadly."

"Next door?"

Ye Feng looked toward the other line of people nearby. Unlike the one he stood in, this one was shorter, with only a handful of individuals.

"What are they applying for? Janitors?"

"Tutor positions."

"Tutors?"

"What's your name?"

"Uh... Ye Feng."

"Do you have a resume or credentials?"

"No."

"...What?"

The interviewer removed his glasses, staring at Ye Feng in disbelief before frowning and shaking his head.

"Sorry, you're not qualified."

"How do you know without testing me?"

"Kid, I'll admit you seem sharp, but we're not looking for a pretty face. What can you teach? Our young lady needs tutors who excel in both character and knowledge. Your casual demeanor already disqualifies you."

"Maybe... I could teach her survival skills?"

"This is Miss Li's bodyguard, Ah Fu. He'll test you."

The interviewer led Ye Feng to an open area, where a burly man wearing boxing gloves was pounding away at a punching bag.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sound of heavy punches filled the air. Noticing the approaching duo, Ah Fu removed his gloves and turned toward them.

"Who's this?"

"This young man is applying to be a tutor. Please test him."

"A tutor? I'm no academic examiner."

"He's teaching something... unconventional."

Understanding dawned on Ah Fu, who grabbed another pair of gloves nearby and tossed them to Ye Feng.

"Alright, kid. Let's spar."

Ye Feng caught the flying gloves with one hand, his lips curling into a faint smile.

"Sure."

"Not bad. Just don't let it be all show."

Ah Fu lunged at Ye Feng with his left foot forward, throwing a swift punch aimed at his face.

As the punch neared, Ye Feng ducked effortlessly, avoiding the strike, and countered with an uppercut aimed at Ah Fu's abdomen.

Thud!

Ah Fu blocked the attack with his other hand, retreating a step. He flexed his wrist, surprised.

"Is this kid really that strong?"

"Another round?"

"I hope you can stay this confident, or I'll knock you out. It won't look good for either of us."

Ye Feng didn't dignify the taunt with a response. He knew his combat skills were formidable. Unless he faced a professional champion, he had little to fear.

As the match progressed, Ah Fu grew increasingly astonished. Ye Feng seemed to anticipate his every move, and what was more infuriating—he wasn't even sweating. For a retired soldier like Ah Fu, this was unheard of.

"No more!"

Ah Fu quickly removed his gloves, tossing them aside. It was clear Ye Feng's skills surpassed his own. If this young man were to guard Miss Li under the guise of a tutor, he could be a hidden trump card. However, this decision required the master's approval.

"What's your name, kid? I'll admit, your skills are impressive."

"Ye Feng."

"Well, Ye Feng, call me Ah Fu. You've passed this round."

"Oh? Is there another test?"

"Of course, but no rush. I'll call you after discussing it with the master. Leave your number with me."

"Alright."

Ye Feng nodded, unbothered by the prospect of more tests. He left the scene, calm as ever.

Watching Ye Feng disappear into the distance, Ah Fu turned and headed toward the villa. He walked down the hallway to the second floor, stopping in front of a door and knocking firmly.

Knock, knock.

"Come in."

A deep, authoritative voice came from inside. Straightening his clothes, Ah Fu opened the door and stepped into the room.

Behind a desk, a middle-aged man with a stern expression was engrossed in paperwork. He didn't react to Ah Fu's presence, maintaining his focus.

"Master."

"What is it?"

"A young man came to interview today. He's remarkably skilled and wishes to become Miss Li's tutor. My recommendation is..."

Ah Fu briefly summarized the situation, awaiting the man's response.

"Your suggestion is reasonable, but check his background thoroughly first. If he's clean, proceed. Ensure this matter is handled carefully."

"Yes, Master. Rest assured, I'll see to it personally."

"Good."

After Ah Fu left, the middle-aged man set down his documents and gazed at the photo frame on his desk. It held a family portrait: a beautiful woman cradling a little girl, with the man himself seated beside them.

Li Jing sighed deeply, his expression softening as he stared at the picture.
