Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?

Chapter 1431: Tee up, Rift in

[Milord, are you insane!]

[I agree! Maestro, you are tempting fate moreso than usual.]

[I know you aren't our pupil, but I still feel the need to actively scold you!]

[Agreed!]

To say that the kaijin were not pleased with Zhen Liu's plan was an understatement.

They had already lost track of their lord because of teleportation going incredibly wrong, leading to their connection being almost severed, and that was on the same material plane.

None of the kaijin wanted to go through that kind of pain again, especially if interdimensional travel was involved. Especially when that other dimension just so happened to be that same roiling mass of insanity that every single kaijin since the dawn of time called their point of origin.

However, just because they owed this abyssal hellscape their lives didn't mean they wanted to be anywhere near it.

None of the Kaijin had wanted to lose everything that they used to identify themselves.

Regardless of these earnest pleas of warning, though, Zhen Liu still committed to follow through with his rather risky plan.

It was the only one that he and the curators could come up with in the moment, after all.

'Alright. I may have been the one to suggest knocking these knock-offs into the abyssal void, but I am open to other ideas on how to deal with them,' Zhen Liu asked the curators as he began to tear off individual squares from his scarf and empower them with [Chaos] and aether.

Under this infusion of power, the squares began to fold onto themselves and formed into various animals known having strong charges and even harder heads.

Zhen Liu needed brute force in this moment, not finesse and speed.

'I am dead serious here, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated right about now.'

<Well, unfortunately, this is kind of the first time we've ever seen this many kaijin turn into abominations at the same time,> Pathos answered first. <Normally, the Kaijin would scatter to the wind before turning into monsters that would be slayed be would-be heroes or breaking down into nothingness after expending all of their [Chaos]. Man, you really are a magnet for new situations.>

'I can't tell if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.'

<Probably both?>

=Ignore her, milord,= Logos interjected. =But your idea is, unfortunately, the best that we have right now.=

'It is?!'

=Well, it's the best idea that we have that would result in little to no casualties amongst the populace of the mines. All of our other plans would result in either mass causalities or mass collateral damage. In other words, things that would attract unwanted attention and you blaming yourself for your inability to do something, despite being capable of it.=

'Huh...'

<=In other words, feel free to dance on the edge of death. Try not to stare into the abyss, though.=>

'...ominous motherfuckers.'

Now that he had the full approval to go with this cockamamie plan of his, Zhen Liu decided to go all in. Of course, the Kaijin had no choice but to along with it.

[Bah! Fine, you crazy bastard! Let's go!]

[Wait, what's the plan exactly?]

[Stun, freeze, or just knock them into the air!]

[Tee them up so that the producer can send them flying!]

Initially, the Gallop Brothers and Frosttusk were the only ones in the cavern that could assist Zhen Liu.

Mighty shout after mighty shout, Frosttusk froze mutliple abominations after the other, giving Zhen Liu plenty of chances to send them flying into the rift after impacting them with origami mammoths.

Meanwhile, the Gallop Brothers alternated knocking up opponents with surges of water, bursts of steam, and powerful updrafts.

Once they were up in the air, Zhen Liu immediately knocked the abominations into the rift.

At the rate that they were going, though, Zhen Liu, Frosttusk, and the Gallop Brothers were one slip-up away from being overwhelmed.

Thankfully, the other kaijin began to arrive in waves.

[Sorry for being late!]

[Executor, duck!]

Nepherage and Blazejudicator were the first to arrive, and the duo immediately got to work unleashing powerful jets of flame that could melt stone and iron in equal measure.

Against these abominations, the blasts of fire were severe enough to cause them to become stunned with burn wounds up until they were knocked into the rift as well.

Unexpectedly, Hurricroak, Arachnidame, Lacerage, and the Mysticlassic trio arrived at the exact same time and immediately got to work in setting the abominations up for Zhen Liu to banish.

[Alright, if we're doing this anyways, let's send them back with flair and panache!]

[I'd prefer class and dignity.]

[Violence all the way.]

[Less talking, more fighting!]

Jolts of lightning, sticky webs, slicing winds, vicious blasts of sword aura that severed tendons, spring-loaded punches, and ear-piercing screams did wonders in stunning the abominations long enough for Zhen Liu to immediately send the bastards flying into the rift.

With the timely arrival of these reinforcements, loss by attrition was no longer an issue. For all intents and purposes, Zhen Liu and the kaijin were essentially dominating the battlefield.

However, it is in these overarching moments of triumph that small moments of "defeat" can lead to a rather noticeable reversal.

By working together, Zhen Liu and the kaijin had defeated a grand total of three dozen abominations.

Please keep in mind, though, that the number of enemies was initially higher than that aforementioned amount; there was just a lot of cannibalism going on.

Regardless, Zhen Liu and the rest of the kaijin only had to deal with one last abomination, a strange one that looked like a venus fly-trap had been merged with a piranha… and several other animals in the process in order to form a fucked-up hydra-like beast.

The abomination let out a vicious hiss as it attempted to lunge at Zhen Liu with its multiple heads.

[Fuck off!]

Fortunately, Nepherage managed to stun the beast in time with a well-timed boulder launched at its torso, which was immediately followed by Zhen Liu launching an origami bull to knock it back towards the rift.

Now, this should've been a moment of triumph as the last of the abominations were sent back into the nothingness that was the void of [Chaos]. However, this last abomination was a spiteful bastard.

Due to this abomination being their last opponent, Zhen Liu and his Kaijin had slightly lowered their guards once it had been sent flying.

'Phew! That was—'

Hiss!

'Wait a minute, what?'

As such, they were all caught off guard when the pseudo hydra bastard launched a head forward, bit down on Zhen Liu's arm and dragged him towards the rift alongside it.

"Shit!"

[Maestro!]

[Milord!]

The sudden retraction towards the rift was too fast for any of the kaijin to properly respond against.

Frosttusk couldn't freeze it in time, neither Lacerage nor Razorstella were able to decapitate the hydra in time, and not even Hurricroak was able to deliver a lighting bolt fast enough to stun the hydra in time.

[Shit, shit, shit!]

[He's about to enter right. What do we do?!]

[I got it, I got it!]

However, as luck would have it, Arachnidame was fast enough in at least tying a rope of manifested spider silk around Zhen Liu's ankle.

[Grab it, grab it!]

[On it!]

Frosttusk was the first to respond to the call out, and proceeded to freeze his feet in place while he grabbed on to the spider silk rope in order to pull it back.

The viking mammoth was expecting to be able to pull Zhen Liu back in one fluid motion, but alas, that didn't pan out.

Instead, he managed to keep it steady as Zhen Liu was...mostly pulled into the rift.

To be more precise, Frosttusk had managed to pull against the rope with just enough force that only Zhen Liu's head entered the rift.

This wasn't exactly a good thing, but it was better than his entire torso or more.

Either way, the kaijin were panicking as they realized their creator/Master had his head in a void of [Chaos].

[Holy shit!]

[Pull him out, pull him out!]

[I'm trying! Help me!]

[Right!]

... Meanwhile on the other side...

'What the fuck...'

The moment Zhen Liu realized he was about to be pulled into some endless abyss of madness and [Chaos], he made sure to immediatley activate his [Stigma] in order to protect himself from whatever bullshit was probably going to be on the other side of that rift in reality.

However, as luck would have it, Zhen Liu only needed to cover his head.

During his unscheduled flight, he felt that Arachnidame had managed to place a snare around his ankle, which provided the counter force needed to prevent him from getting fully swallowed by the rift.

On the downside, this gave Zhen Liu an extended opportunity to see what exactly this space between reality actually looked like.

Needless to say, it was a hot mess and a half.

'Incomprehensible. Just... incomprehensible.'

Up was down, left was right, and colors were sound in this place.

But...that was only a simplistic description.
