Jujutsu Kaisen: I Have A Gardevoir

Chapter 112: Ch.112 Are You Playing Me???

The blade traced an arc.

Cursed energy, focused by the cursed tool, concentrated into a sword slash, like a crescent moon, heading straight for the enemy's throat.

The refined movement, the superior speed— even the special-grade sorcerer, Suguru Geto, gave a word of praise: "Nice."

As soon as he spoke, a gray "mountain peak" rose abruptly from the ground, blocking the inevitable path of the sword slash.

The sharp slash cut into the mountain, but failed to pierce it completely. As the energy dissipated, the cut mountain began to regenerate at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The dense, unhidden cursed energy revealed the true identity of this "meat mountain"—a cursed spirit.

"A mountain demon?" Akira quickly cross-referenced in his mind and finally found the answer from the legend of "Hyakki Yagyō" (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons).

"Nice eye." The figure of Suguru Geto, with his robes and flowing hair, appeared atop the mountain demon.

Mountain demon, as its name suggests, is a demon of the mountains. It carries the characteristics of a mountain—big and hard, making it the perfect shield. As an attacker, it crashes forward like a landslide.

Akira looked at Suguru Geto, who had his hands in his sleeves, and decided to set aside the idea of taking direct action for the moment. He called out:

"Pangoro, Mountain Press Attack!"

A black-and-white beast descended from the sky, landing right where Suguru Geto was standing atop the mountain demon.

"So hasty, are we?" Suguru Geto still had the time to reveal a smile. As his robes flapped, his body left the mountain demon, allowing the two heavy-hitters to collide head-on.

With a boom, the ground trembled.

The massive body of the mountain demon sank into the earth by a meter under the weight of Pangoro. The high physical attack power of Pangoro was fully displayed in this blow.

But the mountain demon was not a pushover. As its name implied, what it feared the least was a head-on clash. With a roll, it tried to press Pangoro into the ground.

Seeing this, Akira shouted, "Dodge quickly!"

This was the strongest skill of a Pokémon Trainer, and Pangoro obeyed the command. Its huge backside twisted several times, dodging deftly.

"Don't go for a head-on clash for now. Look for a chance to use a throw."

Akira could see it clearly. The mountain demon was huge, but its movements were monotonous. There was no need to fight it head-on. The battle had just begun, and fighting against any special-grade opponent meant it wouldn't be short. Akira was already strategizing accordingly.

Pangoro, now evolved, was far more obedient than Pancham and much smarter. It feigned a weak spot, luring the mountain demon into a chase, then suddenly made a sharp turn, moving to the side.

With both claws digging deep into the mountain, Pangoro used its waist and legs to push off the ground, forcibly flipping the mountain demon over and slamming it heavily into the ground.

Move: Vital Throw.

"Ora ora ora ora…"

With the battle cry that its "brother from another mother," Pancham, had taught it, Pangoro used the move Comet Punch, smashing the mountain demon's body into pieces, demonstrating what it means to shatter mountains and split rocks.

The moment the mountain body was reduced to rubble, the cursed spirit known as the mountain demon was officially exorcised.

"Not bad. I've had this mountain demon for several years, and I didn't expect it to be taken down so easily. These Pokémon are indeed interesting." Standing on a nearby streetlight, Suguru Geto clapped his hands. "But what I don't lack is cursed spirits. Be careful, a new attack has begun."

Responding to his warning, the ground beneath Pangoro suddenly gave way. The once-flat ground transformed into a dark abyss, dragging Pangoro down deeper and deeper.

But Pangoro didn't panic, and neither did Akira.

"Darkrai!"

With that call, there was a flash of lightning, and another black-and-white figure, with a red scarf, emerged from the abyss, pulling Pangoro out of danger while also tearing the "abyss" to shreds.

The Dark-type Pokémon made its entrance.

"Competing on numbers? That's my specialty."

Suguru Geto smiled more brightly. He opened his hands, and ripples spread through the surrounding air. One by one, eyes filled with negative emotions emerged from them.

The already thick curse energy grew even more intense, making it hard for any sorcerer without sufficient power to even stand.

The scariest thing about "Cursed Spirit Manipulation" was that there was no limit to the number of spirits Suguru Geto could absorb, and he could release them all at once. When it came to overwhelming force, no other jujutsu could surpass it.

Only now did Suguru Geto start using some of his true power. A single mountain demon, or abyss demon, had just been a game.

With a casual wave of his hand, more than twenty cursed spirits surged forth, surrounding Akira and his two Pokémon.

If it had been before encountering Rika Orimoto, Akira might have been a bit flustered.

After all, he lacked experience in group battles, and the one best at group attacks, Gardevoir, wasn't here. However, after going through that nightmare scenario, the whole of Tokyo Jujutsu High had leveled up its monster-hunting skills.

Without needing special instructions, Akira and his two Pokémon formed a small three-man team.

Pangoro and Akira alternated between attacking and tanking, while Darkrai moved throughout the field, maximizing its speed advantage.

In the blink of an eye, more than twenty cursed spirits had been wiped out.

Akira held his sword in one hand and used the other to gesture at Suguru Geto, who was cosplaying a streetlight: "Got any more?"

"As you wish."

Suguru Geto, far from being angry, nodded cheerfully, summoning even more cursed spirits. This time, there were at least five times as many—over a hundred.

If it were any other place, it would have prompted the Jujutsu Alliance to trigger an evacuation alert. In other words, this had already reached the level of a major disaster.

And Suguru Geto was the source of this mobile disaster. Without such capabilities, he wouldn't have the audacity to claim he would kill all non-sorcerers.

Under his command, the cursed spirits surged like a tidal wave, while Akira and his two Pokémon were like a small fishing boat amidst the massive waves, seemingly about to capsize at any moment...

Capsize...

Capsize...

Why haven't they capsized yet?

In Suguru Geto's eyes, Akira and his two Pokémon were certainly strong, but their attacks were mostly limited to close range, making them the perfect targets for a group assault.

They could only hit at most three cursed spirits at a time, while there were 108 cursed spirits surrounding them, coming in waves, leaving no opportunity to catch a breath.

If one wave wasn't enough, there could always be two, or three— the consumption for Suguru Geto himself was negligible.

The second terrifying feature of "Cursed Spirit Manipulation" was that absorbing spirits consumed his cursed energy, but once they were absorbed, using them consumed the spirit's own energy.

By comparison, Akira would surely run out of stamina, regardless of whether his "Pokémon Manipulation" cost him energy. Fighting himself would undoubtedly be exhausting. By attrition, Suguru Geto was confident that he could wear Akira down.

And indeed, Akira appeared that way. His clothes were torn, and his Pokémon were beginning to show signs of wear.

However, as the battle progressed, Suguru Geto sensed something amiss.

They were too stable.

Akira and his two Pokémon appeared to be heavily surrounded, on the verge of being overwhelmed, but in reality, they were enduring steadily, maintaining a certain efficiency in exorcising cursed spirits.

After one particular repositioning, Suguru Geto clearly saw that beneath Akira's torn clothing, his skin was unharmed. In other words, Akira wasn't even injured.

A wave of feeling like he'd been made a fool of surged in Suguru Geto's chest.

"Are you playing me???"
