Chapter 218: Found an Alien
"Honestly—how could Dad threaten you, Shichen!"
Still pouting after hearing the story, Lala hugged Shichen's right arm in consolation.
"Shichen, do you want me to go talk to my father for you?"
"No need." Shichen patted the back of her hand. "Perfect chance to make him hand you over to me of his own free will."
"Shichen…"
Lala blinked, her eyes sparkling at him, and couldn't resist leaning closer.
"A‑hem!" Zastin suddenly cleared his throat twice, cutting off Lala's affectionate mood.
"Zastin!" Lala glared at him, annoyed.
"Ojou-sama… I'm still right here, you know," Zastin explained, sounding aggrieved.
"Then can't you just leave on your own?"
"I know you and Shichen-sama are close, but isn't this moving a bit fast?"
"Can't you read the room? Zastin, you really should study this planet's culture more," Lala said with obvious disdain.
"If Ojou-sama insists… Fine. But I still have something to tell Shichen-sama."
"What is it?" Shichen looked at him, puzzled.
Zastin's expression turned solemn. "Shichen-sama, do not assume King Deviluke is joking. He always means what he says."
"What do you mean?"
"Once, someone was just a little rude in His Majesty's presence, and the King got so angry he destroyed that person's entire home planet… In short, if you fail to protect Ojou-sama, he really will wipe out this world."
"Is that so…"
Truth be told, Shichen couldn't even destroy a single planet right now—which only proved that Lala's father was far stronger than he was. Beating this future father‑in‑law into submission by force clearly wasn't happening any time soon.
"Zastin, relax. I'll protect her. No one will take her from me, and no one will ever hurt her."
"Shichen…" Lala looked at him, deeply moved.
"Lala, do you believe me?"
"Mm‑hm, I believe in you, Shichen." Unable to hold back, Lala leaned in again.
"Uh… well, I'll take my leave then," Zastin said, turning to go.
"Oh, right—Zastin, pass one more message to Lala's dad for me."
"What message?"
"Tell him I'm not going to be 'one of' her fiancés. Lala's fiancé will be me and me alone."
"Shichen—!"
Overjoyed, Lala leapt up, wrapped her arms around his neck, locked her legs around his waist, and kissed him fiercely.
"…Understood." Without even glancing back, Zastin walked off, the corner of his mouth twitching.
Shichen held her tight, returned the kiss, then performed a spatial jump and took her home.
The campus tour could wait.
…
Back home, Shichen sat on the bed with Lala in his arms, leaning against the headboard, giving her hands‑on lessons in how to kiss.
While she rested, he set up some games, light novels and manga on the third floor—things she was instantly interested in.
The next day – school enrollment
"Hello, everyone, I'm Lala Satalin Deviluke. Please take care of me!"
Standing at the lectern in a new school uniform, Lala introduced herself politely—just as Shichen had taught her.
The students below were stunned by her appearance, but soon snapped out of it and began whispering:
"Isn't that the girl the principal brought yesterday?"
"No kidding! The principal's right there!"
"Her name… Is she foreign? No wonder she's so pretty."
"She looks our age. But what's the principal doing?"
"How should I know? I'm more curious about their relationship… Do I have a chance—?"
"Forget it. How could you compare to the principal?"
"Actually, Shichen and I are dating~" Lala announced cheerfully, having overheard them.
"Ah!"
"Knew it…"
Several students deflated on the spot.
"You heard her—she's my girlfriend," Shichen said, sweeping the room with a cold gaze. "So keep your dirty thoughts to yourself. If I hear anything, you're expelled."
"—Isn't that a bit tyrannical?"
"Totally!"
"What, not happy about it? I'm the principal; my word is final—unless you'd rather quit school."
No one had anything to say after that.
"Oh, another thing: her tail is real. She isn't a foreigner—she's an alien. So quit the idle speculation," Shichen added flatly.
"An alien?"
"Seriously?"
"The principal really can joke—"
"Who said I'm joking?"
Shichen chuckled, and golden flames blossomed in his palm. Scorching heat swept through the classroom; everyone broke into a cold sweat despite the blaze.
"Believe me now?" With a flip of his hand the fire vanished, along with the heat.
"S‑so, Principal, you're…?" someone asked.
"I'm no alien—just the principal."
"So there's no need to fear an alien invasion. With me here, this planet is safe."
"Anyone got a problem with that?" His brow rose.
"N‑no, none at all!"
"Exactly! With the principal around we've got nothing to worry about!"
"Long live the principal!"
"Long live the principal!"
"Mm, that's more like it." Shichen nodded in satisfaction, then said to Lala, "Go sit next to Kotegawa."
"Okay~"
Lala happily headed for Kotegawa Yui's seat.
"Teacher, please continue the lesson. I'll be off."
"All right," the teacher answered calmly, as though none of this had been surprising.
"Well then…" Shichen glanced over the class one more time. "Study hard, everyone."
"Bye‑bye, Shichen~" Lala waved.
"If you're bored, drop by the office. Bring friends if you like."
"Okay!"
Shichen nodded to Kotegawa Yui and left for the office.
He wasn't worried about Lala; with the straight‑laced Kotegawa around, nothing would happen. He also noticed Yuuki Rito and Sairenji Haruna giving each other meaningful looks—neither paid much attention to anything else. Under his influence, maybe those two were finally getting together?
Fortunately Haruna carried no "Divine Fragments," so he had no special feelings for her.
Surprisingly, Kotegawa Yui did have one—that he hadn't expected.
Back in his office, Shichen decided to act like a real principal and fix some absurd policies. For example, girls' swimming was still taught by a male teacher—unacceptable. He reassigned it to a female instructor on the spot.
He stayed busy all morning. Lala never came looking for him, but he could hear her chatting happily with classmates.
Lunchtime
He headed to invite her to lunch, but at the classroom door sensed something off: a handsome male teacher carried an aura that definitely didn't belong on this planet.
"Shichen, what's wrong?" Lala walked up with Kotegawa Yui.
"Principal…" Yui looked a little tense.
"No need to be nervous, Kotegawa."
"Um… Shichen, can Yui eat with us too?" Lala asked.
"Of course—but there's something I have to deal with first."
"What is it?"
"Come with me… Kotegawa, you too."
"Eh? O‑okay…"
Shichen led them after the male teacher he'd noticed.
"Shichen, what are we doing?" Lala couldn't help asking on the way.
"I think I've found an alien. Gotta take care of him."
"An alien?!" Yui panicked.
"H‑here for you, maybe?" Lala asked.
"Probably."
They reached the equipment storeroom. Shichen pushed the door open without hesitation.
"W‑what? Lala? Shichen? And—why are you…?" The man spoke—and instantly blew his cover.
"Isn't that Saki-sensei?" Yui exclaimed.
"Kotegawa, that is most definitely not Saki-sensei," Shichen said with a grin.
"Eh?"
"Watch closely."
With that, Shichen stepped forward toward the man.
