Chapter 25: The protagonist killer

In the end, this is quite a boring ending after everything I've seen and done.

Sitting against the wall, I let out a slight chuckle even as I wince in pain, feeling a sharp ache in my lung as I cough up a mouthful of blood.

I was prepared. My backup never showed up, and these guys knew I was coming, but I guess that's life.

I probably knew too much, or maybe I just stepped on the wrong toes. In the end, it doesn't make much difference.

Looking around the room, I smirk slightly at the grim sight of several bodies scattered around, including my target. Just an arms dealer supplying my country's enemies—a fairly typical mission, all things considered. At least I'll be taking them all down with me.

Still, I did the job, despite everything.

I know enough about the human body to tell that I'm dying, with several bullet wounds in my chest. I'm sure one of the bullets pierced my lung, and I have some serious internal bleeding.

Live by the sword, die by the sword, I suppose. I always knew this was probably how I'd go out—people in my line of work don't exactly retire.

Well, some do, but they're the bastards who earned too many medals and traded fieldwork for a desk job, calling themselves "Generals" while sending poor bastards like me to die.

[Do you want to live and become a player instead of a pawn?]

[Yes] [No]

I couldn't think as the screen appeared before me. My vision blurred, growing darker and darker, until I finally closed my eyes, blood covering my body.

— Later —

Opening my eyes, I found myself in a dark void, surrounded by nothing but darkness. I could feel my body. Looking down at my chest, I saw that there were no wounds. I was naked, floating in this endless abyss.

As soon as I became aware of my surroundings, a screen appeared before me, immediately catching my interest.

[Character creation start]

Seeing this, the screen changed to display different options for me to choose from, but each option had a price.

[Current credits: 1000]

Recalling the games from my past life, I decided to play along. Hopefully, this wouldn't come back to bite me in the ass.

— Later —

Walking among the inhabitants of Fair Isle, I looked at the medieval city with a slight smile, especially when my eyes landed on the grand palace the place where my target resided.

Mission added

[Death of the Lionheart]

Objective: Kill Godwin Lannister "Lionheart," the avatar of R'hllor and the "Prince Who Was Promised."

Rewards: ???

My first protagonist, I thought as I read the mission that had been assigned to me.

My purpose was simple: eliminate useless protagonists or those who did not entertain my lord.

Who is my lord? Well, he is the one who revived me the strongest man in the Omniverse, the Supreme King Zephyrus, the Great Monarch of the Cosmos.

I was chosen and given power to get rid of the trash he wanted gone protagonists he did not wish to waste his time on. That was my role to ensure they so they could never ascended in real power.

It seemed I had arrived a little late. Robert's Rebellion had already ended with the death of the last dragon, and the last Targaryens were ironically on this very island.

Except for the Martell's children and, technically, the northern bastard—but that boy wasn't a real Targaryen, just a bastard.

I only sighed and continued walking. It didn't matter, because after this, I wouldn't be returning to this world.

Without saying a word, my body became covered in darkness, disappearing into black smoke, unnoticed by anyone.

— Later —

Black dust swirled as I appeared inside a section of the palace, then vanished again, cutting down every servant in my path with swift strikes of my sword.

Once I finished clearing a part of the palace, I immediately moved on, heading toward the gardens, cutting down every snake in my way. I halted my blade when I saw a group of white-haired individuals—a woman and two children, the elder woman shielding the younger ones.

I instantly recognized them. Rhaella Targaryen and her two children.

I hesitated for a moment, but in the end, I made my decision. Drawing my sword, I moved swiftly—three heads flew into the air, blood splattering across the garden, covering me in the blood of dragons.

Robert would get an erection if he saw this, I thought as I stared at the lifeless Targaryen bodies. But I quickly moved on—there was no time to waste.

Continuing my massacre, I finally reached a certain room—the palace's main chamber, where my target currently slept.

With a powerful kick, I broke down the door, immediately waking up a certain blonde man lying in a massive bed. Beside him were two women—one a beautiful redhead, the other a blonde who resembled him.

Godwin Lannister "Lionheart" - Protagonist

Threat level: low

Hack: R'hllor's system

A system similar to the one the Architect created for Ashborn to find a suitable vessel. This system serves the same function—to find a vessel for R'hllor.

Before Godwin could even draw his sword, I didn't give him the chance. My blade sliced through, severing his head, along with the heads of his three companions.

A notification appeared, confirming my mission's completion, but I ignored it for now and instead picked up the sword the idiot had tried to use to defend himself.

[Dawn, the Sword of the Morning]

A sword belonging to House Dayne. Made from an unusual material, the most popular legend states that the first Dayne found a fallen star and forged the blade from its metal. It possesses durability comparable to Valyrian steel.

My sword is better, but maybe if I engrave runes on Dawn, I can make it stronger, I thought, storing it in my inventory.

The moment I did, I felt a crushing force press down on my shoulders, an unfamiliar pressure enveloping me.

[Note: Due to the user's actions, it is recommended to leave this world before the god you have offended takes action against you.]

The instant I saw the message, I took the advice. Without hesitation, I used my world-hopping ability, and my body disappeared, reappearing once again in the dark void—the same place I had arrived at after my death.

Afterward, I checked my rewards for completing the mission.

Immediately, I felt a surge of power, divine fire energy flowing into my body. It began to change, adapting to me, slightly enhancing my abilities. More importantly, I gained a slew of new skills some more useful than others.

Skills Acquired:

[Fire Resistance] – You are completely immune to fire. You cannot be burned by any flame, regardless of its source.

[Gold Manipulation] – You can create gold in any form, turn any part of your body into gold, and even transmute objects into gold upon touch.

[Command] – By uttering a single-word order, you can compel others to act, provided they understand the language and the command does not directly harm them.

[Heal Wounds] – By placing your hands on someone, you can heal minor wounds, as long as they are not life-threatening.

[Blessing] – By speaking a few words, you can bestow a blessing upon someone, within clear limits.

[Everlasting Flame] – A flame, as bright as a torch, appears on an object you touch. It looks like a normal flame but produces no heat and requires no oxygen.

[Shield of Faith] – Grants divine protection against other deities, forming an invisible shield powered by your chosen patron's divinity.

[Minor Restoration] – By touching a person, you can cure any disease or condition affecting them.

[Locate Object] – By focusing on a familiar object, you can sense its general location.

Looking over my new skills, I can only grin to myself. Some of these skills were complete dog shit but a lot of them were pretty good.

I turned to check my newly acquired credits.

Well… this is actually fanfic I wrote in Spanish originally, but I decided to translate it and modify slightly. Didn't get that much attention when I first uploaded it in Spanish, so I decided to translate it. And yes Godwin is a mc from another fic by Crownborne and frankly, I didn't like it. It was good at first but like most Game of Thrones fanfic they become a weird mixture between the show and the books. And not even a good representation of the book just a bastardized version. This is probably gonna be the only mc of an other author that I include in this.
