It is Easiest to be Obsessed by Everyone

Chapter 33

The opening shift was not in good shape.

They really should have taken it easy with the drinks last night.

The staff seemed a bit dazed, and I had a feeling they’d cause an accident any minute.

Eventually, it happened.

“Oh no! I’m so sorry! Are you okay, oppa?”

I had been keeping an eye on them since they looked on the verge of making a mistake.

When one of them almost tripped while carrying hot coffee, I caught her just in time, but it ended up spilling onto my left arm.

It was hot.

“Ugh.”

Reflexively, I tore off my left sleeve.

With my boosted strength and agility (+500%), the sleeve ripped off in one go, exposing the burnt area on my shoulder.

I quickly ran to the sink, cooling my arm under the cold water.

Ah! I accidentally ripped the sleeve.

Guess it was a habit left over from working at the chemical lab.

I would immediately strip off any protective sleeves if hazardous chemicals got on them.

“Chang-woo, are you alright?”

“Yeah. I’m fine, boss.”

“Wait, but… How did you rip your sleeve so easily? How strong is your grip?”

“Oh. I think this shirt was just weakly stitched. Guess it’s what you’d expect from cheap material.”

——-

The customers sitting near the counter were the lucky ones.

When the hot coffee spilled on my arm, they got to witness an incredible, rugged display of strength as I tore off my sleeve in one swift motion.

The patrons almost gasped.

Once when the coffee spilled, and again when I ripped off the sleeve without hesitation.

“He’s insane. How strong is he?”

“Wow! He looks so slender but has this wild strength. Look at those forearms—they’re thin, but you can tell they’re solid. That’s what they call compact muscles, right?”

Excited, the female customers drank down their coffee and tea quickly, cooling their overheated nerves before returning to the counter to place more orders.

——-

“A large caramel macchiato, please. And, uh, six pieces of cake—any kind.”

“… Is this takeaway?”

When I asked in surprise, the woman who was eye level with me beamed and shook her head.

“No. I’ll eat it here.”

“As you can see, there are no seats available right now.”

“Then I’ll just stand and eat.”

“Why not takeaway?”

“Do you know me?”

“…”

“Why are you talking informally to a customer? Or… Are you maybe interested in me?”

“That’s not it…”

“Just ring me up, will you? Mr. Handsome Employee.”

I could sense the boss looking at me with intrigue, and even the other employees had stopped working for a moment to watch the exchange, looking tense.

Internally, I sighed and took the card Choi Ji-soo handed me.

As our fingers brushed, her status window popped up.

[Choi Ji-soo]

[Age: 22]

[Height: 175 cm, Weight: 55 kg, D cup]

[General Libido: B]

[Interest in You: S]

[Your Oral Completion: 12 times]

[Your Vaginal Completion: 48 times]

[Details: Last Vaginal Completion: 13 days, 6 hours ago]

I mumbled to myself without thinking.

“Thirteen days ago…”

“Wow! You remembered? Yeah. It was two Wednesdays ago, around 5 AM.”

“Hey, stop.”

“What? It’s not like that’s something embarrassing to talk about.”

How could she not feel embarrassed about mentioning the exact time of her last encounter with me?

Well, technically with the old Chang-woo.

“What’s wrong? You brought it up first, and now you’re reacting like this?”

“It was just a slip.”

“So it’s engraved in your memory that vividly?”

“I’m working. Please don’t distract me.”

“Alright, alright. I won’t distract you.”

Choi Ji-soo waved her hand casually and stepped to the side. At 175 cm tall with a D-cup chest and wearing 10 cm heels, she definitely drew attention.

Men passing by the café looked in through the windows, and the male customers who came in for the female customers couldn’t help but glance at her.

“Who is she, your girlfriend?”

The boss’s sister, Gong Ji-hyun, asked me with a curious tone.

I shook my head.

“Just someone I knew.”

“Why are you talking in past tense?”

“I don’t really know either.”

“Chang-woo, do you realize how you casually saying things like that drives women crazy?”

“No. I didn’t mean it like that…”

The other female customers lined up to get takeout, clearly aware of Choi Ji-soo’s presence.

I couldn’t blame them.

Choi Ji-soo was quite attractive, with an especially striking Western-style physique.

With her level of beauty and build, she practically outshined the other female customers today.

Everyone appeared to be watching us, clearly curious about our relationship.

It’d be a problem if they thought she was my girlfriend, though.

If sales drop, it put Hyena and me that much farther from our apartment in Gangnam.

I gave a subtle look to the boss, who quickly understood and came over, speaking loud enough for the nearby customers to hear.

“Is she your girlfriend?”

“Absolutely not. She has a boyfriend.”

Apparently, Choi Ji-soo heard the ‘she has a boyfriend’ part, as she shot me a slight, pouty look.

What’s her problem?

Who asked her to come to my workplace?

“Your takeout order is ready.”

I called her in a polite, professional tone.

She picked up her order by the corner, and instead of leaving, she headed over to a table where two men were sitting.

What? Were they her friends?

“Excuse me, are you with them?”

“Huh? Oh, no, not at all.”

One of the guys was clearly taken aback by the unexpected company.

“Oh, I’m not here for anything like MLM, religion, or insurance; I just stopped by since my friend works here, but all the tables are full.”

“Oh, sure. Please sit down.”

The guys replied, clearly thrilled to have her join them.

Ugh, those clueless guys.

They didn’t realize she was just using them for convenience.

I’d seen this enough times to know.

“Excuse me, can I place an order?”

“Oh, yes. My apologies. How can I help?”

“Um, you’re really handsome, so… If you don’t have a girlfriend, could I maybe get your number?”

“Uh, well, I don’t have a girlfriend…”

I do have a live-in partner, though.

“But I’m a bit shy about giving my number to strangers. I’m so sorry.”

It’s important to decline in a way that doesn’t leave them feeling awkward or hurt, making them feel like they’re inconveniencing me.

This approach worked, and the woman ended up apologizing, saying she was sorry if she’d made things uncomfortable.

“Enjoy your drink.”

I said, flashing her a friendly smile as I handed her coffee.

Hopefully, she wouldn’t mind not getting my number and would keep coming back.

——-

“Would you like me to clear away these cups?”

“Oh, thank you.”

Since I couldn’t single out Ji-soo’s table, I asked in the most businesslike tone I could manage.

Ji-soo grinned and handed me her empty cups.

I felt the two men at the table staring at me, but I ignored it.

“What time do you finish?”

“I’m off at six.”

“Got it.”

As I walked away, I overheard one of the guys ask if she knew me, and she giggled, saying, “Oh, he’s just a friend.”

She appeared comfortable joining strangers’ tables and chatting naturally.

Maybe that’s just how life is for attractive women—if I were in their shoes, I’d probably accept coffee with a pretty woman, too.

Finally, at six o’clock, I announced I was heading home.

I felt uncomfortable because of Choi Ji-soo, so I figured it would be better to leave quickly to avoid any issues in the long run.

It would be problematic if strange rumors started circulating among the customers.

After saying goodbye to the boss and the staff, and feeling the disappointed stares of some female customers, I made my way out as quickly as possible, trying not to draw too much attention.

As I hurried away from the building, I suddenly heard a familiar voice behind me.

“Lee Chang-woo, we need to talk.”

Did she sprint in heels to catch up with me?

She was definitely still sitting when I left the cafe, so how did she manage to catch up already?

Once I was far enough from the cafe, I stopped and turned to face Ji-soo.

“It’s not cool to show up at someone’s workplace like this. I need that job to make a living.”

“Why are you even working as a cafe employee? How much can you possibly be making there?”

“None of your business.”

“Why are you talking like that? You sound like an old man.”

Damn.

Does it show that much?

“You know, I noticed before, but you’ve changed a bit.”

“Just get to the point.”

“Let’s go have sex.”

“….”

“You told me to get to the point, didn’t you?”

‘Honestly, I’m a guy, too.’

I couldn’t deny I was curious about what it would be like to sleep with someone like Ji-soo, who had a glamorous body.

But even though I was missing a part down there before, my loyalty was always intact.

And now I had Hyena, who adjusted to my pace and endured for my sake, even if it meant overworking herself.

“I’m done sleeping with you. Actually, I’m done with other women entirely.”

“Is this because of that girl? She is pretty, I’ll admit. Is she an unknown idol or something?”

“…”

“So, is she one of those types who won’t let you see other women? Why are you dating someone like that? You always hated feeling tied down.”

“I don’t feel that way anymore.”

“Then can I be the one to tie you down from now on?”

“No, being tied down by you is definitely still a no.”

Ji-soo scoffed, clearly amused.

She definitely had the tough girl persona down. Her physique, her eyes, her makeup, and her whole style—everything about her screamed confidence.

“Do you remember what you said to me the last time we slept together?”

‘No… I really don’t.’

“You should remember. You even remember the exact date; there’s no way you wouldn’t remember what you said.”

That’s only because I read it from the status screen and accidentally muttered it out loud.

“You told me I tasted amazing. That I was in your top three ever, and that I was competing for first or second among the girls you were seeing.”

Really?

I glanced at her figure before quickly looking away, a bit flustered by her suggestive smile.

“Are you sure you don’t want to go now? I’m free tonight.”

“No, thanks.”

“If you say no today, you’ll have to wait even longer—my period starts the day after tomorrow.”

“Like I said, I’m done with this.”

My head started to ache.

While there might be a part of me that was drawn to Ji-soo, my loyalty to Hyena wouldn’t waver.

“I changed my number too.”

“Figured as much.”

“So please stop trying to contact me. I’d prefer if you didn’t come to the cafe either.”

“Hey. You shouldn’t be saying that to me.”

Ji-soo clicked her heels and stepped closer and leveled her eyes to match with mine, thanks to her high heels.

There was a hint of something fierce in her gaze.

“I lost my virginity to you, you know. And now, after less than two months, you’re calling it off?”

… Damn it. I didn’t even get to witness that so-called first time.

“I’ve never complained about you seeing other women, have I? Not once. Don’t you think this is a bit much?”
