[Eon’s POV: ]

"There’s no need to be worried, mom. We will bring her back in a while.

We may be late, but we will be back before this break ends."

I wanted to tell her we would be back as soon as possible, but we don’t really know when exactly we will be able to get back.

’We had a way to go there, but there’s no way to tell whether the Gate will work this time as well.’

Master activated the Gate only after I was strong enough to pass through that gate.

I don’t have any idea how exactly the gate works yet so we will have to figure that out and, after doing that, we will have to figure out how all the people I’m bringing with me will pass through it.

’Taking them with me is necessary, but then again, I’m gambling with all their lives and their futures.’

If things go wrong, we might get stuck in the great forest and then there will be no way out of that place. WWe will practically have to go out of the forest and find one of the original gates of the forest… and since there are only four of them in the entire great forest, I can see how that would play out.

’So, while this is a gamble, I had to succeed no matter what.’

And mom knew that as well.

Her eyes were sad but there was hope and there was also light.

She was sad that I was going to disappear for a while once again, but she was still going to let me go. And while she may want to come with me this time, I can tell she did not have the resolve to face that place and her past just yet.

"Bring her back… Eon. Don’t let her get hurt, and if she’s going to be a different person when she comes… back… at least make sure she is still the same Anna that I know." There were tears at the end of her eyes, but that did not stop her.

Her hands as she held mine were shaking, but still, she did not look weak as she stood before me.

She was still the same mother that I knew, even though the situation involved both of her children and a forbidden zone, she stood strong.

"I will be back soon."

I had to reassure her.

And, I also had to let her go for the time being, so I took a step back.

"We have to go now…"

Walking back to the rest of the individuals that were coming with me, I waited for the three elders that were coming with us as well.

"Grandpa…"

Since we were going to have a [King] ranked knight with us, I believe we would be fine even if we face some danger.

We will have Elder aunt Mime will be with us, and as a mage with great experience with support spells, she will be even more helpful around the tower.

And lastly, Taika was coming with us.

"Take care of my children." Mom held Taika by shoulder and looked down with her hands still shaking.

"Please… bring them back…"

Mom knew just how dangerous this mission was. She knew just how much we might be in danger.

We had a way to go there but not any way to come back. And if that was not enough, we did not even have any way to say for sure that we will be back from that place without getting hurt.

’If the Gate could send us back, then it is all fine and good. But if we don’t, we will be stuck in the tower house for a little longer than we expected.’

But that is all fine as long as we can bring Anna back with us.

"Don’t worry, Nol." Taika hugged mom and reassured her with a confident voice.

"I will protect them, at all cost."

The thing that we needed to worry about the most was not something like an external threat. We were safe in the tower so as long as we were there, we were going to be fine.

Still, as long as there was even a tiny possibility that we would have to go out of the tower, then we would be exposed to a world full of monsters of a completely new threat level.

’If mere ants were so powerful, if even the simplest of the creatures there possessed powers unlike anything we have seen until now, if it’s the great forest we are talking about, even taking a step out of the tower’s premises would bring danger to all of us.’

Yet, if the strange feeling I have is not just an illusion of mine… there is no telling what might happen to us.

"Wait for us, alright?" Placing her forehead on hers, she gave mom one last hug and stepped back.

Mom was still holding her hand, but that did not matter as Taika simply walked back with a sad but determined expression on her face.

’Everyone knew this was going to be a dangerous task.’

If it was simply about going there and bringing Anna back with us, we would have achieved that ourselves.’

Zoe and I were enough to do that since we knew for sure that we would be able to pass through the gate.

Yet, if we were going there anyway, and if these [Return rings] were a one time artifact, then we needed to utilize this opportunity as best as we could.

’If it was possible, I would have brought Magi with us as well. But he will have to stay away by himself yet again.’

But we don’t even have the time to worry about all that.

{ "Anna will be safe… right?" }

Mave was also worried about her, but since she was at least coming with us without any of her children knowing, her worries were understandable.

"She will."

She would stay in the [White gate]. She, along with Sir Zuroro, were coming with us in the gate since they were not exactly humans and could stay in the gate.

’Taika was a different case since while she may be a tiger, she was an evolved lifeform and was more humanoid than the lizardman.’

Technically she was more like the humans than him, so I kind of understand it. But still, this skill that should be able to allow any being to pass through was not taking in anyone right now.

’Lucy attributed this behaviour with all of my skill’s unique awareness.’

The skill perhaps knew what we were doing and also had an idea about something that would happen so, it was not allowing anything else.

’It wasn’t a desirable outcome, but we did not have the time to think about that either.’

Right now, the most important thing was Anna. And, since it’s time to depart…

"Alright."

We need to go now.

"See you soon, everyone."

The last time I ’went’ there, it took me several years to come back.

In the great forest, the creatures that I faced, the environment that I lived in, the friends that I made and the things that I saw… There were many things that happened when I was there, but still, I somehow met my master and lived with her for a few more years.

The knowledge and powers that I gained from her, the life I lived, and the memories that we made are invaluable to me.

But without her, even that goldmine of memories is nothing more than an empty house.

"Big brother."

An empty house that I… we, sooner or later, would have had to return to.

"It’s fine, Zoe."

Along with Rein, Zoe, and Quin… Chry, Alf, Carla, Miss Moon, president, Del, Grandpa, Elder Aunt Mime, and Taika were coming with us.

’Uncle Luthor did not come with us and nor did brother Spector.’

Both of them thought it would be better if Mime went with us since she would be more helpful to us, and the rest of them agreed with them as well.

’Even though dad wanted to come, he knew his responsibilities.’

He was looking at me right now, telling me to be safe and bring his daughter, my sister back with me.

And I had reassured him that I would do that.

’Still…’

As a father, he would not stop worrying about his children. He would not stop worrying even after left, so that is that.

"Just infuse energy into the ring and that should be fine."

The rings were a gift that I had never used but I had used one of the fifteen original rings to modify Mr. Rice, one was on me, and one of them was on the island of magic’s wealth, in the house that was being built there right now.

’If the ring on Mr. Rice worked as it should have been, then, it was clear that the rest would work as well.’

And since we knew that, without hesitation, Zoe was the first to activate her ring and vanish from the surroundings.

Grandmother, along with our mothers, shouted their last send offs, and with a positive reply, we started vanishing

"Rein, go."

"No, I will-."

"Go."

Activating the ring together was not needed right now, I had to be the last to see everyone gone.

"Alright."

So, only after she activated the ring and vanished did I give a one last nod to everyone… and vanished from the front yard of our Heliox castle as well.

And reappeared in a place all too familiar to me, as well as to my other little sister.
