Chapter 70: 70 Idols?
In the days when he wasn't entering the dungeon, Altair basically had two things to do; one was to accompany Hestia and Saeko at the Familia's residence, and the other was to upgrade his equipment.
Altair gave one of his two high-frequency vibrating daggers to Saeko while keeping the other for himself in case of emergencies. As for his other equipment, he would save them for use when entering the dungeon.
So, how should he upgrade his equipment now?
Staying in his new research room, Altair began to contemplate the direction for upgrading his gear.
Although it was called an equipment upgrade direction, the options available at the moment were still quite limited. Altair possessed the Wolf Wisdom, but he couldn't create things out of thin air like Grey Wolf. He could have Grey Wolf's techniques, but he needed solid materials; otherwise, based on Grey Wolf's performance in the animations and Tom's abilities, Altair wouldn't need to level up at all... he could just dominate Orario.
Therefore, due to the system, Altair was indeed cheating; he could easily grow stronger, but it wasn't complete cheating.
Now, looking at the materials he had, Altair started to think about how to enhance his equipment.
"The materials are a bit lacking; I can't create anything good. It's still the same few options no matter how I swap them."
The materials Altair used to forge weapons were all purchased from Hephaestus, which were essentially simple metals. After all, Altair was just starting out, so he didn't have enough money to buy many other things; he only needed what was sufficient for himself.
It seemed that the only thing he could enhance right now was the output of the weapons he currently possessed. Does a mighty force bring miracles?
Just as Altair was pondering how to improve, there was a knock on the research room door. He got up to open it, and it was Saeko.
"Is there something you need?"
"Um, people from the Loki Familia have come."
"Loki Familia?"
Altair was a bit surprised.
Could it be that they found out about the incident with Bete from yesterday and came looking for him? He hadn't mentioned that he was from Hestia Familia yesterday.
Oh, wait, their Vice-Captain had seen him before, so they could probably guess it was him with a little hint.
"Loki-sama specifically wants to see you. Hestia-sama is currently in the living room arguing with her."
Arguing? Altair immediately imagined the two of them facing each other with their breasts pressed against each other... even though the other side was flat like a highway, it should still be there, right?
"I'm here to notify you. We don't know what Loki-sama wants with you, so please hurry over, Altair-kun."
"Okay, I'll head over now."
Altair closed the door to his research room and made his way to the first floor. As soon as he entered the hall, he saw Hestia grappling with Loki, literally pulling at each other's faces like sumo wrestlers.
...
This scene felt familiar; he remembered it should be...
Bang!
Sure enough, a staff struck Loki on the head, separating the two. Loki squatted down, holding his head.
"Mom, why did you hit me again!"
"I'm not your mother! And Loki-sama, pay attention to your image!"
The true behind-the-scenes figure of the Loki Familia, the Nine Hell Riveria, expressionless, retracted her staff, leaving Loki helpless. Loki could only rub her head and glance away, just in time to see Altair come out with Saeko.
"Oh~ the main character has arrived."
"Altair-kun."
Hestia also noticed Altair's arrival and directly walked up to him, standing protectively in front of him, wary of Loki's intentions.
"It's fine."
Altair patted Hestia's shoulder to signal her to relax and then turned to look at Loki.
"Good morning, Loki-sama."
"Yo! Good morning!"
Loki squinted her eyes, smiling as she raised her hand in greeting.
Altair wasn't worried that she was there to cause trouble because he saw two people standing at the door; one was Ais, and the other was a guy wrapped in bandages. From the ears and tail, he could tell it was Bete. Judging by the way his tail was swaying, he seemed to be in a good mood, and Riveria behind Loki looked relaxed, obviously not there to cause trouble.
"Hey, it was you who acted in the dungeon with Bete and Ais-tan yesterday, right?"
"Yeah, that's right. I encountered Ais-san and Bete-san in the dungeon. There was also another elf present."
"Looks like I'm not mistaken!"
Loki specifically hadn't brought Lefiya along, but Altair mentioned her directly, indicating that he wasn't wrong. Of course, those two standing at the door also proved it.
"Thank you for teaching our kid a lesson yesterday."
"A lesson?"
Altair pondered for a moment and guessed what she meant. It was probably about the One Kick Asura, as Bete really didn't know any kick techniques. He must have returned home covered in wounds, and after being questioned by Loki, he revealed what happened in the dungeon.
"Yes, my kid learned a very powerful skill from you. That move even became his inherent skill after leveling up."
"Hmm? Bete-san leveled up and gained an inherent skill?"
Wow, he even got a skill. That's impressive.
Altair looked in surprise at the bandaged figure, Bete, at the door, and he noticed that Bete's tail was wagging even more vigorously.
"Exactly! He single-handedly defeats the floor boss and transcends his limits, accumulating enough achievements. He has now leveled up to Level 6, becoming a super powerhouse in our Familia."
The highest level adventurers in the Loki Familia were Level 6. The three at the top of the Loki Familia pyramid were all Level 6 and were known as the Three Top Executives of Loki Familia. Now, because of Altair, Bete had also reached Level 6.
Bete reaching the top of the Familia pyramid all of a sudden was something to be proud and happy about, and Loki was naturally very excited.
She leaned closer to Altair, speaking in a voice only he could hear.
"I know what you did to Bete in the dungeon, but you helped him transcend himself, so I won't blame you; I might even thank you. After all, you didn't do anything detrimental to Bete from start to finish, did you?"
Sure enough, as the Goddess of Trickster, Loki understood that he had tricked Bete back then, and now Bete, that silly wolf, had no idea and was still happily celebrating.
"Well then, thank you, Loki-sama."
Altair replied with a smile. He wasn't worried that Loki would cause him trouble; after all, Bete had leveled up to Level 6, and Loki would be happy about that.
"Hey, Loki, what do you want to do with my Altair-kun?"
Loki and Altair's whispering made Hestia very alert. She directly inserted herself between the two, looking up at Loki with a glare.
"Tsk tsk tsk, you really are afraid I'll take your Altair-kun away."
"Hmph, Altair-kun wouldn't follow you! I'm worried you'll do something bad to my Altair-kun!"
"Hah, I'm not interested in that."
Loki pouted and then looked back at Altair.
"However, I do want to discuss something with your Altair-kun."
"Oh? What is it, Loki-sama?"
"Altair, are you short on idols? Would you be interested in being a fan of my other kids?"
