Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 114: 114 Tempest

Faced with Altair's request, Finn was initially hesitant, but Loki quickly shut down any objections, stating that as the captain, he must help his comrades. Thus, with Tione appearing outwardly shy yet inwardly ecstatic, the two were forcibly formed into a team by Loki. From that day forward, aside from their expeditions, they had to spend all their time together, especially Finn, who was required to accompany Tione on several dungeon runs.

This made Tione incredibly happy, and she showered Altair with gratitude.

After accepting Tione's thanks, Altair took Tiona with him on a dungeon run. Tiona was an outgoing tomboy, a type of personality that Altair greatly enjoyed. People like her were easygoing and could quickly become good friends, and Altair liked to have such people around.

Altair didn't have many close connections in this world. Hestia was his main wife, and Ais was his second wife. Besides them, Hephaestus, a close friend of Hestia, could also be considered a friend, especially since Altair had purchased many ores from her to forge weapons.

As for the rest of the people, he could at most say he was acquainted with them—there wasn't much depth in those relationships, though some members of other Familiae were decent enough acquaintances.

Thus, Altair took Tiona to the dungeon, specifically the 27th floor, where he helped her unlock a new power through some guidance.

Tiona's title was "Crusher," as she was a powerhouse fighter wielding a double-edged greatsword. Altair decided to grant her a skill set from Riven.

Although her weapon wasn't "broken," it didn't affect Tiona's ability to master Riven's skills. The ultimate skill, "Tempest Slash," was part of the set and worked just fine for her.

With Altair's help, the Loki Familia now had a swordswoman with the "Tempest Blade" skills—Ais—and a powerful, happy swordswoman, Tione, who was just as joyful. Both of them were now even more motivated in their combat abilities.

In the evening, as Altair and Tiona returned to the Loki Familia after their dungeon run, the atmosphere in the Familia was exceptionally lively.

Although none of the four had leveled up yet, they had all found their paths to growth. What they needed now was a floor boss from the dungeon that could allow them to level up. Once they took it down, they'd be set.

"Anyway, I've given them all the ways to grow stronger. Loki-sama, how does it feel? Are you satisfied?" Altair asked, sitting across from Loki on the sofa in her office. Riveria was standing by the window, observing the courtyard.

In the courtyard, Tiona, now showing off her new abilities, was demonstrating her skills to the other Familia members, while Tione stood with a slightly helpless Finn, watching nearby.

"Satisfied? Very satisfied. After Bete leveled up to LV6, these four were the ones I worried about the most. Now they've all grown stronger. This is amazing! I'm so glad I chose to collaborate with you, Mr. Altair." Loki beamed, her usual smile turning into a crescent shape.

"Indeed, the Gale Swordsmanship already shocked us, and now there's a whole new sword technique. What's the name of this one?" Riveria asked, watching Tiona in the courtyard. Tiona suddenly lunged forward and conjured a shield out of thin air, leaving Riveria's mind spinning with questions.

The Gale Swordsmanship was understandable—communing with the natural wind to aid in combat was one thing. A tornado, as destructive as high-level magic, was also reasonable. But how did Tiona manage to thrust forward and summon multiple metallic shields? What were those green shields even made of?

And then there was the "Tempest Slash" technique. Why did it make Tiona's already large double-edged sword grow even bigger, doubling the attack range? Was that even still considered swordsmanship? And it didn't even consume any magic power!

"There's no need for magic power at all. Both Yasuo and Riven are champions who don't use mana, very unreasonable," Altair said, shrugging with a smile.

"I'm not sure of the name, but you can call it the Tempest Sword Art," Altair said casually.

"Wind Blade, Tempest Sword Art... The first one makes sense, but does the second have anything to do with wind?" Riveria asked, still perplexed.

"Of course. The ultimate skill can unleash a Tempest Slash, which is pretty much wind-related."

"Alright..."

The connection here was a bit forced, but one Gale Swordsmanship and one Tempest Sword Art did seem to match well, right? The key was that these two could be used in combo—one could launch the enemy, and the other required the enemy to be launched. What a great synergy.

"Alright, Loki-sama, that's all for today. I need to head back."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work today, Mr. Altair. Feel free to come visit us whenever you have time."

"Definitely!"

Altair naturally agreed to Loki's invitation and even arranged for the two Familiae to team up on their next expedition. Although Altair was only LV3 and Ais was LV2, making them weaker than Loki's Familia with their LV5 and LV6 members, Altair himself was not someone bound by logic.

Based on Ais' combat experience in the dungeon, Altair's presence alone was enough to turn a normal monster on the 27th floor into an extremely skilled combatant with strength approaching LV5, simply through his explanations. On top of that, Altair possessed an excellent storage skill, allowing him to carry supplies for expeditions, which was incredibly useful. This collaboration was certainly not a loss!

After saying goodbye to Loki, Altair exited the meeting room, ready to head home. Last time, he had been ambushed by members of the Apollo Familia, but this time, he didn't expect any trouble. After all, the Goddess of Beauty wasn't interested in him, and Apollo was no longer a threat.

However, Altair was surprised to be stopped before he could even exit the Loki Familia's door.

"Yo, we meet again."

Standing in his way was Bete, the werewolf from Loki's Familia. Now at LV6, Bete had become the fourth in line among the Familia's current top three.

After recovering over time, Bete no longer had bandages wrapped around his body like last time.

"Mr. Bete, it's good to see you again."

Altair greeted Bete politely, maintaining his fanboy persona. After all, he was now a fan of Bete!

"Yeah, it's been a while since we last met. How've you been these days?"

Wait, Bete, why are you greeting me like we're old friends?

"I've been doing quite well. Recently, I even went to the dungeon a few times with adventurers from your Familia."

"I heard. Ais, Lefiya, and even Tiona today—all of them came back stronger after going to the dungeon with you," Bete said.

"Yes, the senior adventurers are really impressive. It's just like when I went to the dungeon with you, Mr. Bete. I mentioned wanting to see their powerful techniques, and they all showed me their skills. As expected of senior adventurers, they're really amazing."

Altair maintained his fan persona, a look of admiration on his face.

The admiration and Altair's words made Bete nod seriously, showing an expression of "just as I thought." He walked up to Altair, looked around to ensure no one was nearby, then casually slung his arm around Altair's shoulder and lowered his voice.

"Kid, about those legends you've heard about me—what did they say about my skills? Can you tell me more about them?"
