Investigation Report of the Gods

Ch. 75

Chapter 75: Miss Ai's Report

Write a report!

As soon as Han Su and the other Investigator assistants and related Execution Members returned to the Disaster Management Bureau, they were locked up to write reports.

The causes and consequences of the incident, the process of resolving the problem, who they saw when they entered, who they saw when they came out, and what exactly was that thing that escaped from the door...

Everything, every item had to be explained clearly. They were even required to follow a specific report format.

Han Su had long prepared a mental draft and was psychologically ready to face the challenge. He intertwined his fingers, stretched them outward, downed two cups of coffee brought by Secretary Cui Qiao’s staff, and began writing in an eloquent flourish.

Having already prepared the draft in his mind, writing it wasn't difficult. But Han Su did put in considerable effort to ensure this first formal report in his life appeared reasonable.

The power of his right eye and left hand, as well as the spell of the divine decree from the Gods, naturally couldn't be included in the report. Even his memory reading of the will of the Crystal Skull couldn't be written.

But even without mentioning those, he had enough reasons to explain why he was able to resolve this B-class incident!

The guidance and courage granted by his dear mentor, the Monster Investigator—was that not enough?

The Disaster Management Bureau’s specially-made Left-Hand Protective Shield and the Right-Hand Sword of Mystery—weren’t those extremely powerful weapons?

Plus his exceptional skills, sharp gaze, and keen judgment—was it really that difficult to take down a few Infected Individuals and a Mysterious Follower who had already become a dead person?

Moreover, the Doctor had also said on the way back that, following Han Su’s instructions, when he went in to assist Mr. Strange Bird, they had set up a blocking perimeter outside the door. This had played a significant role in resolving the B-class incident and should be included in the report.

So, write the report then!

This report was not only written with elegant rhetoric and graceful sentence structures—Han Su even used parallelism!!

“So, what will be the result?”

After checking for typos, Han Su submitted the report to Miss Ai and then waited expectantly for the feedback.

...

...

“So this dangerous individual just entered Qinggang, killed one of our Investigators, and swaggered away?”

Due to this dangerous individual’s intrusion, the entire Qinggang had become busy.

All relevant personnel, upon returning to the base, immediately split into two groups. After Red Trench Coat Woman and Zhang Zhiguo met and had a brief conversation and prepared relevant materials, they all entered a thick and concealed office.

They sat around an oval conference table as the surrounding lights dimmed, and corresponding figures appeared on each of the previously empty chairs.

Sitting at the head of the conference table was a thin middle-aged man.

His voice carried a hint of self-mockery: “And during this whole process, he effortlessly infiltrated the Disaster Management Bureau, stole classified data—not to mention, even did a small wonton eating show for the staff in the base cafeteria.”

“Of course, lastly, with just a single glance, he scared all of our Qinggang Investigators into not daring to lift a finger, and they just watched him leave Qinggang?”

“...”

Everyone could hear the self-mockery in his words, yet no one dared to respond.

Because it was the truth.

The atmosphere in the meeting room was oppressively heavy—some were even considering whether they should put on a suitably ashamed expression.

“That depends on how you look at it.”

At that moment, the woman in the red trench coat suddenly spoke: “From another angle, this dangerous individual, who is highly wanted and closely monitored across seventeen global regions and super megacities, was discovered the moment he infiltrated Qinggang City.”

“Then we made the quickest response, launched a siege and interception, and in the end, under the selfless resistance of a brave Investigator, we successfully repelled him. Anywhere else, this would still be considered an excellent performance.”

“Furthermore, theoretically speaking, we effectively thwarted his objective, forcing him to leave in failure.”

“...”

“Oh?”

The important figure seated at the head of the table smiled slightly and asked, “How so?”

“From the place where Song Chu‑shi appeared and the route he took, his goal was that door spreading the Spiritual Plague.”

Red Trench Coat spoke, and at the same time, the display screen began showing Song Chu‑shi’s route after entering Qinggang, as well as the time and location where the door appeared. The two paths had over ninety percent overlap.

She said, “In fact, by the end, Song Chu‑shi had clearly already found the door, and was just one step away from making contact with the Secondary Contamination Source of the Crystal Plague.”

“At this critical moment, it was our Monster Investigator who entangled him, leaving him no time to enter, while another Execution Member of our Bureau performed outstandingly, resolving the Crystal Plague and the Death Follower within the door in a very short time.”

“In the end, he even seized the secondary mysterious item that this group of Mysterious Followers used to spread the Spiritual Plague—truly a flawless victory.”

“Of course, the purpose behind Song Chu‑shi’s search for this door, and his connection with the Crystal Skull, still need investigation. But without a doubt, we can say our work forced him into a miserable retreat.”

“...”

Inside the meeting room, many exchanged glances, visible shock and doubt on their faces: You can actually say it like that?

But the important figure at the head of the table clearly wore a trace of a smile as he turned to someone beside him and said, “Not bad. Make sure to include this in the briefing.”

The atmosphere in the meeting room clearly relaxed a little.

But when the important figure turned back, his expression grew serious once more and he said, “But don’t really think that a few glib excuses mean the matter is over. I don’t want Qinggang to become a sieve that anyone can just walk in and out of.”

“Even more so, I don’t want the confidential information of the Qinggang Disaster Management Bureau to turn into a library he can browse at will.”

“...”

The room once again fell into silence. At this moment, someone spoke in a low voice, “This matter is simple. We just need to unlock the restraints on Miss Ai—even unlocking only two, or even one, would be enough...”

No one followed up on that thread.

It was as though this issue was universally acknowledged—something that could be discussed, but whose outcome was always deferred.

“Before this meeting ends, I do have a small matter I’d like to bring up with everyone. After all, it’s related to this incident, so it’s not really off-topic.”

In the midst of this somber meeting, just when someone needed to step forward, Zhang Zhiguo lifted his head and said, “Just now, Miss Ai issued an analysis of this incident, along with a performance evaluation of the involved personnel.”

“The sacrifice of the Monster Investigator is worthy of recognition.”

“But what’s even more noteworthy is that within this evaluation, there is a report that has stood out since the founding of the Disaster Management Bureau.”

“As everyone knows, all Execution Members receive their missions from Miss Ai, and their performance evaluations are adjusted based on how they perform during tasks. Only those whose evaluations reach A+ level are granted Mysterious Power Training or issued an Investigator license.”

“But just now...”

He paused and said, “One Execution Member’s evaluation reached S-level.”

“S-level?”

Voices of astonishment indeed rose within the meeting room. Everyone exchanged looks, finding it all rather unbelievable.

This S-level referred to Miss Ai’s value assessment of Execution Members.

A comprehensive score based on potential, ability, and merit—the higher the score, the greater the value.

Since the establishment of the Disaster Management Bureau, no one’s evaluation had ever reached S-level.

In fact, such a rating theoretically shouldn’t exist.

Because typically, once an Execution Member reached A+ level, they would be promoted by the Disaster Management Bureau and become an Investigator.

At that point, their personal evaluation would naturally reset to D- level, and they would once again prove themselves under the Investigator identity.

Now, however, an Execution Member had emerged with an S-level evaluation.

It was like a perfect score of one hundred had been shattered by someone scoring one hundred and fifty.

“Miss Ai produced the report this quickly?”

Red Trench Coat was momentarily stunned, then smiled and said, “I thought this would be something for the next meeting.”

She raised her voice slightly: “I know about this matter. This Execution Member, within just half a month of joining the Disaster Management Bureau, even before completing Spiritual Penetration, managed to single-handedly resolve a B-class Spiritual Plague outbreak.”

“And according to him, during the entire process, because his mentor was sacrificing himself to fight Song Chu‑shi, he didn’t even have a proper partner, only the assistance of a few Execution Members.”

“Most importantly, it was precisely because he resolved this Spiritual Plague outbreak that Song Chu‑shi’s operation to infiltrate Qinggang failed.”

“This merit—well—let alone for an Execution Member, even among Investigators, it would warrant a substantial promotion.”

“...”

As she spoke, the corresponding report was projected onto the screen. Everyone fell silent, looking at the code name “Butcher” displayed above, and could only shake their heads in silence.

What kind of code name was that?

Young people these days really liked flashy and flamboyant things.

Just by looking at the code name, one could tell this definitely wasn’t a stable person—at least, not the kind of code name Miss Ai would’ve come up with herself.

“Handled a B-class Crystal Plague alone, and even had contact with Song Chu‑shi but escaped unharmed...”

At that moment, someone suddenly spoke in a cold voice: “This is absolutely not something an Execution Member can do. Even the Monster Investigator died. Who is he to pull it off? Someone should investigate—his report is definitely suspicious.”

Zhang Zhiguo merely responded calmly, “It’s a report approved by Miss Ai.”

Once again, the meeting room fell into silence. No one voiced disagreement with Miss Ai’s verified report, but neither did anyone speak up in support of Zhang Zhiguo’s statement.

“Everyone playing dumb?”

Just then, a hoarse voice suddenly rang out, laced with cold laughter: “Everyone here has clearance to access the Butcher’s file. And none of you remember this guy’s background?”
