Infinite wealth In A New World

Chapter 122: What Is The Plan?

Vancouver leaped down from the tree, landing on the ground with a soft thud. He exhaled, looking back up at the top, a frown on his face.

'The secret behind that name should never be uncovered... I don't know why he feels familiar to me, but I mustn't let him uncover the secret, no matter what,' he thought, and walked toward the wooden house.

"We already learned our lesson the last time and suffered a great deal of losses," he muttered, the memory of his brother's face flashing in his mind.

WHOOSH!

Vancouver stopped dead in his tracks and spun around, only to see boulders hurtling toward him.

"What the?!!" He quickly leaped backward, dodging the huge ones, but a smaller one struck him.

BAM!

The force of the impact sent him flying, a mouthful of blood erupting from his lips as he smashed into the front door of the house.

BAM!!!!

".....?!"

Star, Ellen, David, and the rest rushed out, staring at Vancouver lying on the ground in horror, his rib cage crushed from the impact with the rocks.

"This?!"

"No!"

David rushed to his side, dropping to his knees, not knowing what to do.

"....?!"

Ellen's gaze swept across the destroyed forest, from the scattered boulders to the broken trees.

"What... What happened?" she asked, slowly walking toward Vancouver.

"Cough!" Vancouver coughed up more blood.

"You all need to run!" he said with difficulty, while Ellen knelt before him, placing her palm on his chest.

"We won't leave you behind," she said, using her healing skill.

WHOOSH!!!

"....?!"

Star, Alexandra, Mike, Joseph, Mia, and David looked up, horrified, as more than ten boulders descended on them at frightening speed.

"Ellen!!!" Star shrieked, running toward her.

BOOOOOOOM!!

The boulders slammed down. After a few seconds, Star, who had shielded Ellen in her arms, slowly raised her head, seeing a force field shimmering around them, completely blocking the boulders.

"Is everyone alright?!" Sunny quickly entered the force field, landing before them.

"Thank goodness," Alexandra sighed, collapsing to the ground. "I thought I was a goner."

Sunny's gaze moved to Vancouver, whom Ellen was busy healing, then looked back at the shield.

'Thank you, Josephine, if we hadn't bought this force field at the auction... I don't know what would have happened,' he thought.

"What's going on?" David asked, tapping his tablet. "All the drones are dead!" he yelled.

"What do you expect? Look!" Mia grumbled, pointing at the shattered trees.

"Those boulders knocked down all the surrounding trees... We need to go now!" Sunny said.

"Why? Who is throwing these boulders?" Star asked.

"Giants... Their leader," Sunny said, watching as everyone's faces turned pale with horror:

"Well... two leaders," he corrected.

"Two?!" The group was utterly horrified.

"Cough!" Vancouver coughed, slowly opening his eyes and staring at Ellen's face.

"You?" He lowered his gaze to his chest, which was completely healed.

"You healed me? How can you have such a powerful healing ability?" he asked in confusion.

Sunny walked over, grabbed Vancouver's shoulder, and pulled him to his feet:

"It's good you're back on your feet! Now!! Snap out of your shock!!" he yelled.

"I'll distract those things, you guys need to leave!" he added.

Vancouver blinked. "How many are there?" he asked.

"Just go!! Leave the rest to me!" Sunny said, then turned to Ellen.

"Be good..." He ruffled her hair.

'Ellen could easily kill Giants, but can she kill the leaders? No, it's too dangerous... Besides, I won't let her get close to those things,' he thought.

"But---"

"---No 'but.' Star, take her away." Sunny cut Ellen off and looked at Star.

"....!"

Star frowned, but seeing the look in Sunny's eyes, she gritted her teeth, picked Ellen up, and placed her on her shoulder.

"Let's go!!" she yelled, running in the opposite direction from the boulders.

"No!! I don't want to help Dad!!" Ellen struggled, but Star didn't stop.

"I also want to help him, but in this situation, we must go! He'll do anything to keep us safe, and I don't want to worry him! Do you want that?" Star whispered, still running.

Ellen stared at her, then turned back toward Sunny, her eyes watering..

"I will find you!" Sunny yelled after them, then turned to Vancouver and David.

"Why are you two still here?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We want to help!" David said.

"No... you already have a job. Your death would be a big loss! But his won't!" Sunny said to David, his gaze on Vancouver.

'What?' Vancouver was stunned by his blunt words.

"Uncle Vancouver dying is also a loss! Same with you!" David protested.

Sunny shook his head. "Go!"

"But---"

"---Listen to him, and go!" Vancouver yelled at him.

David stared at them with a dumbfounded look. After a moment of hesitation, he handed his tablet to Sunny.

"The motion sensors are underground, so you can still keep track of the giants coming." Sunny nodded, looking at the tablet.

With one last look, David turned and followed the others.

___

"So, what's your plan?" Vancouver asked after the group was out of sight.

BAM!!!

Sunny looked at the force field as more boulders smashed into it.

{Defense: 95,000,000/100,000,000.}

'The system has upgraded the shield to the max level, but it can't withstand this forever. Once the thousands of Giants get here, it won't last long,' he thought.

"First! Get the leaders' attention!!" Sunny said, snapped his fingers, and the shield disappeared.

In one shot, he flew into the air, soaring out of the forest.

"This moron! Did he forget I can't fly?!" Vancouver yelled.

"Your task is to distract the Giants!!" Sunny yelled back from high above the trees.

"Wait a second!! Distract what?!!!" Vancouver yelled in horror.

"Hey!! I fucking didn't sign up for this!!!!" he added, but Sunny was long gone.

WHOOSH!!

Vancouver looked up, seeing more boulders moving toward him:

"For goodness' sake!!! Let me breathe!!" he yelled, a dense amount of Celestial energy bursting from him.

"Don't you dare mess with a Divine rank warrior!!"
