Chapter 360 - 55 Percent

The sound of hammering rang out in multiple places and it seemed like it would not stop its process until time immemorial. Such sound would have made anyone angry, distraught and even borderline mad from the endless hammering.
But for those inside the cave, the sound wasn't annoying, it was rather pleasant. Magnificent even. The sound was like pure honey being poured over there body and they wanted nothing more than for it to continue.
The hammering sound meant that the workers were trying to pick out the large pure mana stones embedded in the cave. The more there were hammering the more stones there were and that meant more money.
So hearing that many workers hammering out the stones wasn't the least bit disconcerting for them, not even for the workers as it meant that they would get paid as long as they could hammer it out.
But there was one exception who was looking at the scene and sound with hidden annoyance.
It was none other Naomi who was counting out the number of stones there was in the cave and how long it would take for all of them to be picked off and how much they would receive from the load.
Naomi eyes penetrated through the caves walls once more before writing off the last of the stone there was inside the cave and started doing her calculation.
William, Delmar, Edward and the others kept looking at her from a far standing point. None of them disturbed her as they saw the serious look on her face and knew that if they made any sound then she would bark off at them.
Even with so many sounds of hammering and other sounds being rang out, they somehow knew internally that if any of THEM made the sound then it would surely make her angry.
But they didn't have to wait any longer as they saw Naomi took one last look at the caves and her pad before giving a nod and coming towards them.
As Naomi came to the group, what greeted her were two excited faces that wanted to ask her the same question and one who was just looking at her with a bit of curiosity.
So she did answer the one who was the least 'Curious', "Sir, I have gotten the info that I need about the Crystal site." Then without waiting for William to answer she looked at Edward, "Even though I already got the information from your team Mr. Saintsgate, I thought it would best to take a look with my own eyes as well."
Edward shook his head, "No worries, Of course you would take a look, it's a matter of trillions here." Then he had an urging look, "So… what do you think then?"
Naomi looked at her pad as she answered, "Well as your team has already said, the total value of the caves crystal at the current moment amounts to 248 Trillion Dollars, right?"
Edward nodded.
"But I took a few cuts here and there, with maintenance and some future… accounts," She took a brief pause, "It comes to 239 Trillion Dollars… Somewhat."
One word rang out in all three peoples head, 'Somewhat! We' were thinking it would be even lesser!'
Then she gave William a look which he took a notice of and said, "And if we were to get 55% of that then it would mean… 131 Trillion and 450 Billion Dollars."
The words spread out and everyone became quiet at that. William, Delmar and Naomi all three did the same thing and looked at Edward for his reaction.
Edward was smiling as he looked at their faces and said, "What! Do you think that I would be stingy all of a sudden and not give you what you owe?" Then his face got half serious as he said heavily, "The Saintsgate family has always paid what they owed to people in due time and has kept their words for thousands of years and I too would adhere to my family's words and discipline, no matter the cost."
"I said to you that you will get 55% of the whole deal and I will stick with that, don't worry about it."
William waved his hands quickly, "No no, I never thought that you would do something like that, Forgive me if it seemed like I gave that kind of impression."
"Oh! Is that so?" Edward asked and the next moment his face turned to the jolly look it was before, "Well then its settled then right."
"Emhmm!" William nodded then hesitated as he asked Edward, "But Edward… are you sure that you're okay with me giving 55% of the whole deal?"
Edward nodded resolutely, "Yes, I'm sure." Then he waved his hands, "Besides I'm getting a little more than 106 Trillion, so it's not like I am missing out here, right?"
'107 Trillion 550 Billion to be exact.' Naomi counted.
William then got to the next matter, "Alright now that we have the amount, it's time to talk about what to do with the Kingdom."
Hearing those words made both Delmar and Edward's faces darker as the latter said, "Yes… We need to pay the toll to the kingdom as well."
"How much do we need to give out again?" William asked Naomi as she quickly recounted, "15%"
"Damn!... that's a lot of money they would get just from lazing around." Delmar said and Edward gave a look as he quickly said, "I mean GOD BLESS THE MAN!"
Edward smiled, "Don't worry, I don't blame you for saying that. I was thinking similar to what you said just now." Then turned to William, "So how do you want to settle this?" Find adventures on empire
William didn't take long before he said, "How about we do this… Since I am getting the bigger pile of the cave, I give 8% and you give 6%?"
Edward thought for a moment and then smiled, "Yes, that is favorable for me so let's do that."
William and Edward clasped hands at that and after a few more looks here and there and some other mana crystal related talks, they decided it was time for them to leave and left the work to the professional miners.
"So if anything unusual happens or if I get something new then I will contact you once more until then… I suppose this is goodbye?" Edward said unknown what to say next.
William nodded and went for a handshake and somehow this became a hug once more.
"Well you co-owe this place too, so come by whenever you want and you don't even have to tell me about it."
William just nodded as he let the awkward moment pass by with Edward boarding his plane and he too boarded his.
"Soo…" Delmar said.
"Not one word about that."
Delmar smiled criminally before remaining quiet as the plane flew up and went to the skies.
"Hey! It was not a total bust right. We got trillions of dollars coming in from the crystal mine and an unusual dude who likes to hug kids but… it's good right?" Delmar said.
"You know what?" William looked at him, "I will take that up your-"
William stopped abruptly as notifications showed up in his view.
